What's Your Favorite Video(s) Of The Day?

This is really good, we first have the brothers harmonizing a cappella on “let it be” followed by a fantastic rendition (and different arrangement) of “never can say goodbye”.
What’s really cool though is Michael’s voice, I hadn’t heard it this good in 1974 before as his voice was transitioning from 72 to 75

I have seen this video, the full thing, several times and it always touches my heart. First, MJ is so adorable in it. He is so shy and it's apparent in his body language. I love Berry in it too. When Michael is waving at the audience and getting them riled and he says "stop that!" it's such a cute moment. But mostly, I love when he says he will never not believe in him. In 1994 especially, that must have meant so much for Michael to hear. Just a great moment all around. All that is missing is when Michael says "Berry I'm so embarrassed" which is too adorable for words.

Basically I described the entire video and no one even needs to watch it now lol.

Bob Dylan / The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll

I don't know what the world would be like if we didn't have Bob Dylan. Awesome song, fabulous performance, brilliant quality footage.

Hattie Carroll. RIP.

Deep Purple / Child In Time - live performance

Was never into Deep Purple. But I always loved this song and this live performance is especially cool.

Snoop has been posting MJ related content a lot the past week or so. But he added this video of him as MJ and I'm dying 😂

Just occurred to me if you don't have an Instagram that will be a barrier :( anyway it's a video compiling a bunch of Michael's short films but with Snoop's face swapped lol

I don't think I could possibly love him any more than I already do. I love that he did stuff like this his whole life and never let anything stop him from being the kind of person he truly was. He seems distracted at times during this, but I can't imagine what it would be like to do something like this either. I love people and I'm very outgoing, but I can't imagine being in situations like this all the time where every eye is on you and all of those eyes are in complete awe all the time. Anyway, I just love him.

Also, he looks amazing, as always. I can't not make a comment about it. Sometimes I find how good looking he is distracting lol. His appearance and energy in this strikes such a resemblance to his 1985 telethon appearance. Obviously, he was even shyer back then. But I feel like his face, smile, and humility are exactly the same. He's so adorable. I could gush forever and it wouldn't be long enough lol.

Anyway, here's the telethon video for reference because I can't help but watch this every couple of weeks lol.

I know these kind of mass hysteria videos aren't for everyone. But the reason I like this one is because he went through such hell 2 years before. And I have no doubt that he worried about how he was perceived in the world. How could he not? I just think of what he told Oprah "I just simply want to be loved wherever I go." As insane as this response to him may seem, I feel like it must have felt good on some level to know he was still so loved by his fans. He was not alone in that way. So for that reason, this video makes me smile.

Black Sabbath / Paranoid

@MacMandy90

Here's another 'Paranoid' performance. The other one I posted was from a European pop show and we did see it back then and we loved it but this one here is TOTP. This is the one I grew up with. Live, as well. Most TOTP performances were mimed - which I don't have a problem with. It was a weekly pop show promoting the singles in that week's pop charts. But every now and then they would throw us a live performance. We even had Jimi Hendrix (which they wiped because the BBC is stupid). Anyway, this clip here is my jam.

What a fabulous clip! I've heard of Top of the Pops, it was kind of like what VH1, MTV, and Total Request Live did as well, it's so cool how back in those days where artists and songs were discovered and became popular, the good old days lol

Channels like MTV and VH1 are not what they used to be either...so sad really, wayyy tooo much gaudy and obnoxious reality tv shows and not as much about the music...rant over lol :ROFLMAO:

Not familiar with VH1 or Total Request but I would say TOTP was very different to MTV. Although, tbf, for quite a while we only had MTV Chart Show over here. I can't remember when MTV became available on subscription tv but hardly any of us had it anyway. At least, not for ages. The Chart Show was great but it just played loads of videos. There were no actual performances from bands. We loved the Chart Show and it was essential viewing but it was doing a different job to TOTP. But you might be talking about a different part of MTV. We are always a few years behind the US on stuff like this. I mean, there was eventually an MTV channel on one of the pay-per-view channels but I never bothered with it.

Back in the fossil era (aka the 1960's, lol) here in the UK we had a great weekly pop show called Ready Steady Go which was amazing and much better (more edgy) than TOTP which was also around (started 1964, IIRC). RRG ended and TOTP reigned supreme for years. Literally, your whole week would revolve around Thursday evening for TOTP and Sunday evening for the Radio 1 chart rundown. Good times, lol.

And there are people who complain about TOTP because most of the bands were miming but the whole point of the programme (it was only half an hour, fgs!) was to promote what was riding high in the singles chart that week. There's no way they could do sound checks for 6 or 7 different performers or bands. It would be chaos!

What was great about the UK charts (and TOTP) back then was you could have JImi Hendrix or the Sabs one minute and the next performer was Perry Como or Frank Sinatra. That crazy mix was great.

This was my rant. It ends here. :D

Update - Just looked up that Total Request Live. Sounds good. Like the Chart Show but with extra stuff added in. Don't think we got it over here, not on terrestrial tv, anyway. Shame.

You've got great points dear, it really is fascinating for sure!

Yeah I figured that the time frames between the UK and the US were a smidge different here and there as well, I did notice that 🤔

But yes, learning something new from those ages lol

Been watching this guy’s reaction videos for a few weeks, focus on Motown Michael, doesn’t particularly care for anything post Thriller. But he really loves his voice and he sounds wise and calm and his reactions aren’t over the top.

Reaction vid. Mikey hitting the notes and I’m glad this now got acknowledged by a professional vocal coach.
I get emotional listening to this lol

I often maintained Michael’s peak live singing was from the 80s but the more I focus on the 70s I think I have to change my opinion about it. He sounds so crystal clear and effortless throughout the 70s.
