What's a song you used to Love a lot...

Definitely the songs from "Michael" (NOT the fake songs lol). i used to love Hollywood Tonight and Hold My Hand when I first became a fan but now they don't have the same feel for me the way they used to. i think "Michael" was just permanently tainted by the fake songs and it's so unfortunate, even after they finally got removed from streaming services.

Seems like this is just my blog for writing lol.

Hot Street and Sunset Driver both got a lot of extra plays before Thriller 40 came out.

Now that it's out, eh. I'm kinda played out on both. Now I prefer Slapstick too. Thanks to the AI restoration work of @Beano Wild .

D.S. also is one I don't give a lot of play now. Ever since the one who originated the lyrics of the song died. I've found it less necessary.

When MJ first died, a fair amount of Off the Wall was basically pop music scripture to me. I don’t remember the last time I listened to a single song from that album all the way through.

Tbf, it sounds pretty bad on streaming nowadays. You have to hunt down the special edition, or the original vinyl from Japan, to get the most enjoyment out of it.

The entire off the wall record. I think I've exhausted it pretty hard. But mostly, the horrible Spotify mastering means I only listen to a good CD.

Conversely, I like the 01 Special Edition.

• "I only listen to a good CD."
• "I like the 01 Special Edition"
Pick one.

Japan?!?! Nah fam i listen to the 1988 mastering, also known as the US one, or simply known as that one on Deezer :ROFLMAO:
Well, see, I didn't know how to acquire that one. I always figured it'd either be the very early one or just the special edition anyway. Or the 2016...

Does it sound as good as the 90s CDs?

IT IS the 90s CDs! It's the master every pressing of OTW used since the late 80s all the way until 2001 SP came out hahah

Well! My only issue is I actually prefer the later masters slightly louder mastering. Maybe it's a cardinal sin, but I just don't enjoy how soft the early stuff was, if that makes sense. But not cranked up super high either?

For me that would be Streetwalker... I loved it for the first 3-4 years after I discovered it and I still kind of like it - But it always looses it's touch at the middle for me because after the second chorus, it just stays the same and goes on and on and on...

If we reverse it tho...
I really hated Speed Demon when I first discovered it! Thanks to the short-film and some growth in my taste I really appreciate it now. It'll never be a favourite of mine but I enjoy it nowadays!
I also disliked You Rock My World tho...🙃
When I was a kid and started to listen to MJ, my mom bought me ''The Essentials'' and I remembered loving the second CD the most, although I was disappointed at You Rock My World and couldn't get behind it...
And today, it's easily in my Top 10 MJ-Songs if not in the Top 5... so taste definitely changes over the years😂

Serious Effect I was wearing out like an old fashioned tape before. Now, not nearly as much. But I still say it's the best unreleased Loren joint.

"A Place with No Name" (Original) was the longest one I had on repeat.
I also listened to a lot of 2000 Watts, Human nature, Man in the mirror, Give in to Me, Fall again, Seeing voices

i loved gywoom, but now that I listen to it, it seems very mid to me

The same thing had happened to me before but with beautiful girl, seeing voices and shout

I cannot play They Don't Care About Us 'cause of the filthy political reference (Roosevelt).
Never mention any politician in a song. They are all filth, and Roosevelt was no exception. When I was politically clueless, I thought this was a good song.

Man In The Mirror I got tired of sometime in the 90s. It is overproduced, overplayed and over-loved by the public, which makes me want to turn it off all the more. Before it was recorded, there was a video of Siedah singing it. I actually get more from that than the actual song. I do not particularly like Siedah, so that's saying something.

Heartbreaker. How could I forget. That was a huge regular play. It barely gets air. I did get tired of the compression actually. But I actually like Invincible the most nowadays.
This one for me as well. It was probably my favourite song on Invincible and I listened all the time. Now, it's ....meh.
Hold My Hand as well, I really loved it when I first heard it but it's been a few years now.

I used to listen to Chicago 1945, Who Do You Know, The Toy and Dream Away practically 24/7 back when they leaked/released but now I listen to them very rarely.

Same here lol, I was so hyped and thought it was one of the best unreleased MJ songs when it leaked but now I'm back to thinking it's a bland song. No wonder it skipped so many album releases.
