No Pitbulls are not. The horrible media always pictures them as the most dangerous dogs ever, but at the end of the day there's no such thing as a dangerous dog. There ARE dangerous owners though who treat their dogs wrong, who abuse them and don't learn them right from wrong. Learn them that its good to react agressively towards other dogs.

Watch the tv program called The Dog Whisperer is a clear indication of how there's no such thing as dangerous dogs. It's all about how you raise and treat them, practically the same like raising a child in that sense really.
