What Field are you in? (studies, career, etc)

I am a self taught Web and Graphic Designer. I work at home with my own business targeted specifically toward photographers, and then I also co-own a design business with my Mom where I design just about anything and everything.

My heart is really in photography though. I would have started my own business with it years ago if my Mom didn't need me at her business. I am anxiously awaiting the day I will have the time and means to make the switchover.

I'm just starting my last year in high school. I have no idea what I'll start studying after that..

I work as a Veterinarian Technician. I am also a Groomer too. I went to school for it, graduated and have been working as a Tech and a Groomer for 10 years. I am very lucky to be in a field that I love. I love my job, and lucky for me the people I work with are great too. It is very sad to see sick animals, and of course it is awful when we have to put animals to sleep, but we save so many more animals than we have to put to sleep or don't make it when they are sick. So so many more. And the feeling you have of helping an animal recover from the brink of death (happened today actually for me!) is so so rewarding. Especially when you love animals as much as I do.

One of the things of course that I love most about Michael is his love for animals. I am sure when he had the zoo at Neverland he must have had some sort of Vet Staff there. I would have loved to work there on that staff!

Wowww that's pretty cool! I'd definitely love to work in different countries after I graduate... out of curiousity, how did you find that workplace environments varied from country to country?

workplace environments or culture?

In terms of environment, I am lucky that my company is huge and global! so they have similar office furniture - workplace environment across the globe....it really doesnt matter which office you are working from, we have so called "hot desks" at each office location ...these desks are kept empty and available for travelling officers to occupy and have phone, internet etc everything you might need :)

I remember seeing the exactly same model and make of phones (American) in each and every office I went LOL :) simple thing but makes life so easy...you dont have to wonder for 10mins how to use the phone menu they are the same everywhere u go to :)

and the office spaces are not much different - globalization for you - same layout, colours, style might differ from location to location..and the buildings also do vary..I remember going into this amazing plaza like complex in India (they even had a restaurant, a doctors office, a post office, a travel office and a small fountain - like in a city there) and to warehouse style one in the UK..then to the HQ in London City...or the other warehouse in Germany...and a small office block building right next to the tube at a London suburb (apologies forgot the name :))

Not sure if this covers what you wanted to ask, hope it does -somewhat

my studies are in journalism but i hate that profession so now i work in food industry.
also i got exp in construction(built my own house ), writing software, arts(literature)
also thinking of continuing studies in IT for the future

I have a BA in Sociology, but still haven't figured out what I want do with it. I'll probably end up doing something totally opposite to that.

Legal admin. Post work and general office admin and damn happy with the area :)

ooOO! I used to do legal admin for eversheds!

eeesh! what dont i do! I spend my days teaching adults how to read and write. I spend my nights working on my own business organising and running live music events (which Ive done for 6 years), all proceeds go to charity.

On top of this Im also a musician, Ive had my semi-brush with success but unfortunatly i ballsed it all up for myself, by giving in a little too much to the 'rockstar lifestyle'. I am however writing and recording again, with a release on the horizon which is all very exciting.

I am also in the legal-planning stages of setting up a childrens foundation that will be dedicated to putting volunteers into schools and orphanages in Africa and India...much like the companies that do it at the moment, except the volunteers will have all their expenses paid instead of paying for the trip themselves.

I dont sleep much.

Thanks!
I meant both work environments and culture. How was it like interacting with people in these different countries? Which culture did you prefer? I think when working in a different country, it's also important to consider what social activities there are to do there, so please tell me about those too, if you can :)

I finished school last month and currently I'm unemployed ;)
But I'm going to start studying in october and hopefully it'll be pedagogy/sociology or english or archaeology

I'm studying to become a lwayer and I've already got my bachelor's degree.
I'm continuing my Master's degree this fall and I also work as an assistant at a small law firm. It's quite challenging sometimes and quite often I realize that you can never know everything in this job since every case is so different. I'm hoping to specialise in areas like EU law or international humanitarian law. I'll see where my skills take me but I've always been interested in working in international affairs, for the foreign ministry for example. :)

I spent many years as a PA but am now a qualified counsellor and work as a volunteer counsellor in both a Bereavement Centre and a Women's Centre and counsel women who have suffered sexual abuse, drug addiction, postnatal depression etc etc.

To be honest, nope! Thats the problem, there are so many areas of psychology, and I'm interested in more than one! - Educational psychology/forensic psychology/clinical psychology.. I'm having a break to decide what I'd like to do and then do whatever I have to to get there - further study etc.

Saying that though, I've also thought about marketing/advertising/PR...

I'm not too good with making my mind up, but I'll have to soon to know what my next move is going to be!

Cool, any idea where to go from there? There are so many great things you can do with psychology. It was a career path I was considering before!

That must be emotionally difficult, but rewarding when you see you're making a positive difference to someones life.

Well, maybe if you throw yourself into one path, you'll eventually have the opportunity to explore other stuff.. You don't to stick to one area of psychology forever... you can always put what you learn from your experiences in one area and bring it to another...

I've just qualified as a primary school (children aged 4/5 - 12/13) teacher this year.
