MICHAEL JACKSON NEWS:

Michael Jackson And Ex Manager Fight Over Cars

By KARINA BROWN

jackson-rolls.jpg

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Michael Jackson and his former manager both claim five cars from the April exhibition of the King of Pop's belongings, says Darren Julien, whose auction house ran the exhibition as part of a confidential settlement agreement after Jackson sued Julien's Auctions to stop the planned sale of virtually everything he owned.

Jackson and his former manager Tohme R. Tohme both claim three Rolls Royce cars, two Fruehof trailers and a Ford van, along with money from ticket sales to the exhibition and the singer's security deposit.

Jackson allegedly told Julien that Tohme no longer had authority to act on behalf of Jackson or fellow defendant MJJ Productions, while Tohme threatened to sue Julien's to get the five vehicles, according to the Superior Court complaint.

MJJ Productions is wholly owned by Jackson.
Julien wants the court to determine who gets the cars. He is represented by Gerald Hawxhurst and Daryl Crone with Baker Marquart.

Why in the world does Tohme want MJ's cars?? Makes no sense, if he is was looking to help out MJ with the auction situation, then why is he suing to get the cars..Does he plan on driving them or selling them.. Plus if MJ put down the security deposit then that money should go right back to him not into someone else's pocket.

Thanks for the news..

Will Michael Jackson Appear at the American Idol Finale?

Every year since the dawn of American Idol, rumors have surfaced about the possibility of Michael Jackson appearing on the show during the finale. So far, despite plenty of build up by media outlets and the show's own stars, the rumors have been just that. However, this year the ongoing speculation may have more credence than ever before--though that's not to say it will really happen!

You may recall that the Top 13 special this season centered around the music of Michael Jackson. Likewise, in a recent poll on AmericanIdol.com the Michael Jackson theme was one of the three listed choices in a 'favorites' poll (Michael Jackson night ended up winning with approximately 100,000 votes placed). Speaking to EXTRA back in March, Simon Cowell was asked, "There's a chance you may actually get [Michael Jackson] on the show?" To which Simon replied, "Yeah. The best platform you could have in America right now is American Idol..." One year ago, Cowell told BBC 2 that every year the possibility comes up and that "you just say 'yes' and hope one year he will [appear on the show]."

While an official list of confirmed performers for Wednesday night's finale has been released, the crew at American Idol made it known that there are going to be additional performers not yet announced. Each year, there is at least one surprise performance or duet, although the surprise performer's involvement occasionally leaks before the show actually begins. Last night, Ryan Seacrest said that the "grand finale is packed with such great stuff that we're scheduled to go a little bit long, so I'm warning you now...set your DVR appropriately." Last week, former contestant Scott MacIntyre mentioned on his Twitter page: "Rehearsing music for the Finale..across the hall from Michael Jackson's band :)" Several independent sources also reported that Michael Jackson was at Nokia Theater today, perhaps to rehearse for the rumored performance at the finale, or perhaps just rehearsing for his own London shows! Of the possibility, an American Idol spokesperson said very little, other than that they are "just rumors." Either way, there appears to be enough speculation on the table at this point to tune in and find out (just don't be disappointed if all of this speculation again amounts to absolutely nothing)!

Latoya Jackson: Michael doesn't have skin cancer

(Sawf News) - Latoya Jackson, Michael Jackson’s elder sister, has refuted a recent British tabloid report that Michael has skin cancer.
“How is Michael feeling with the skin cancer,” a photog asked Latoya.
“He doesn’t have skin cancer,” Latoya replied, taken aback.
“There is a report he has,” the photog responded.
“No, he doesn’t have skin cancer,” Latoya confirmed.
According to UK’s Sun, Jackson, who suffers from the pigmentation disorder vitiligo, was last month diagnosed with skin cancer which is treatable and will not impact his London gigs.

O2 not thrilled as Jubilee line shuts for Michael Jackson's big tour
Katharine Barney and Amar Singh
20.05.09

Michael Jackson's comeback at the O2 is to be marred by Tube chaos.

Tens of thousands of his fans will be caught up in weekend closures of the Jubilee line at the start of his 50-date residency in London.

Senior Transport for London officials and bosses of O2 have held crisis talks over the closures, which threaten to leave thousands of people with major delays getting to and from the concerts.

North Greenwich, on the Jubilee line, is the only Tube link to the venue. Today Transport Commissioner Peter Hendy said he was “frustrated” by the situation.

Senior officials said it had been forced on them as private contractor Tube Lines raced to complete a major upgrade of the Jubilee line which has to be in place by December. The firm has fallen two months behind schedule in its plans.

It has told TfL it needs to have a series of closures of the Jubilee line east of Green Park every weekend throughout the summer to get work done in time. The company had been supposed to finish in July - but instead will badly clash with the start of Jackson's “This Is It” comeback.

Sources at O2, who learned of the closures in talks held between Mr Hendy and the venue's chief executive David Campbell, said they were “upset” at the difficulty Jackson fans would face.

A spokeswoman for AEG, owners and operators of The O2 arena said: “The additional Jubilee line closures are not ideal but we are working with TfL, as we always have done, to minimise the disruption to our visitors. Together we have put in place a robust alternative transport plan which has already proven to work.”

A source close to Mr Campbell told the Standard: “David has been frustrated about these closures. He has got used to this being an ongoing issue.”

There is increasing concern within TfL at work on the upgrade to the Jubilee line.

Tube Lines is due to deliver a complete refurbishment which will increase capacity by a third - meaning a train almost every two minutes.

From September the line is likely to suffer a string of weekend closures from Waterloo to Stanmore basis to install the new signals which allow the increased frequency.

Tube Lines chief executive today Terry Morgan, apologised for the inconvenience but said the closure would still take place.

He said: “We appreciate that weekend closures cause difficulties for passengers and we regret the inconvenience they cause, so the decision to take additional closures was not taken lightly. However, the closures are absolutely vital to enable us to complete the installation and testing of the system in the Neasden area which is the most technically complex area on the entire line.

“These additional weekend closures will enable us deliver this important project on time and to the benefits of passengers for many years to come.”

London Underground managing director Richard Parry said: “We will, of course, do everything we can to mitigate the impact on customers.

“As always London Underground will operate rail replacement buses where no other transport is available to meet demand.”

Michael Jackson postpones some London shows

LONDON (AP) — Michael Jackson's representatives announced Wednesday that the elusive King of Pop will postpone several of his London comeback shows scheduled for this summer.

The opening night at the 02 Arena had been set for July 8 but will be moved back to July 13, promoters said. In addition, shows scheduled for July 10, July 12 and July 14 will instead be held in March 2010.

The delays are likely to fuel speculation that Jackson is suffering from health ailments that may curtail his comeback bid.

Kenny Ortega, Jackson's collaborator, said the change is needed to deliver a flawless production.

"We apologize to all disappointed Michael Jackson fans and remain extremely dedicated and focused on creating an exceptional live music experience," he said. Promoters said anyone who chooses not to attend the rescheduled shows will be entitled to a full refund.

Jackson's 50 shows are scheduled to kick off in July and stretch into March. The troubled pop singer has said the series, entitled "This is It," will be his last in the British capital.

Promoters said the tickets sold out within hours of becoming available.
Jackson, who has sold more than 750 million albums and won 13 Grammys, hasn't undertaken a a major tour since 1997 or released an album of new material since 2001.

The 50-year-old singer has been seen in public infrequently since he was acquitted of child molestation in California in 2005. He has struggled to pay his debts, and was forced last year to give up the deed to Neverland, his 2,500-acre (1,000-hectare) ranch and miniature amusement park in California.

Yall, I just so the most beautiful commercial. State Farm has licensed The Jackson 5's I'LL BE THERE for their latest commercial. It starts with Michael singing acapello, then the music comes in and Jermaine sings his part and it is just so beautiful because they show a collage of people helping other people and reaching out to them. Michael's little voice is just reaching out so beautifully. It guess they had to license it from Motown.

Very nice commercial.

Edit: I'm a dumb bunny....I just realized I posted this in yesterdays news thread

In response to CNN`s Jane Velez-Mitchell's recent attack against Michael Jackson, author Terry L. Mitchell published an excellent article entitled "CNN Attack Dog Should Leave Jackson Alone" on the website of the American Chronicle. Jane Velez-Mitchell had been ragging on Michael Jackson for standing on top of a van greeting fans during his child molestation trial.

Terry L. Mitchell commented on the attack as follows:

"Why does Velez-Mitchell, a victim´s rights advocate and attack dog who hosts her own program on CNN Headline News, have such a problem with that? Isn´t it time for her to just let it go?

Besides, the only victim I saw during that trial was Jackson, who spent much of his personal fortune on his defense. Personally, I was cheering him on. The "spectacle" he created was his way of thumbing his nose at the so-called criminal justice system that brought those trumped up charges against him. Of course, he was later vindicated when a jury concluded that he was completely innocent of all charges.

How are people, pray tell, supposed to act in this situation? Should we expect them to have reverence for the court and meekly go about fighting the charges? How then are they supposed to get back at those who are bringing the charges? I would have done something similar to what Jackson did if false charges were brought against me, i.e., instead of showing any reverence, I would be telling everyone what I thought about their little kangaroo court.

Hooray for Michael Jackson! He's a rare and brave guy -- a hero to me!"
