MICHAEL JACKSON's three children will "narrate" an introduction to the revamped WE ARE THE WORLD charity anthem.
Prince and Paris, who accepted the King of Pop's Lifetime Achievement Award on their late father's behalf at the Grammy Awards on Sunday (31Jan10), have recorded a poem and some special words for the re-release of the 1985 USA For Africa hit, which has been re-recorded to aid the Haiti earthquake relief effort.
Little brother Blanket, who was too nervous to take the stage at the Grammys, has joined them.
A family insider tells WENN, "They wanted to put a special message on the song - a message that echoes everything their father wanted for the world."
The charity track will also feature Janet Jackson, who has agreed to sing her brother's lines for the revamp.
Jackson wrote the anthem with Lionel Richie, who teamed up with producer Quincy Jones, to bring stars like Barbra Streisand, the Jonas Brothers, Natalie Cole, Kanye West and Toni Braxton together for the re-recording in Los Angeles on Monday (01Feb10).

I remember singing this song in 1st grade for a school play lol. Anyways, I was listening to bits and pieces of ET last night and Mary Hart was the only reporter allowed in. She said that Janet will be singing Michael's lines. They should just keep his voice in there. Celine Dion is singing Cindi Laupers part. I dunno how I will like this version.

:clapping::clapping::clapping: That's exactly what I'm sayin' he got no room to flap his mouth. And that interview...oh man he a bitch and a hypocrite. I don't want him even talking to Michael's children and plastering a fake ass smile on his face. After what he said about them? hell no, he best not.

I don't know how Michael dealt with people like that. Even people that he considered "friends" didn't believe he had vitiligo! wtf is wrong with them? They need to have a look see at the damn autopsy report and see how dumb they look.

I think that part is more suited to cindi lauper, its just perfect for her voice. I don't think it really suits celine, she would be better in a different part. Then again whats my opinion compared to quincy 'genius' jones.

I was not even talking about you. If you don't like the single, don't buy it. Give your money in other ways, no one is going to shove it down you throat.

I will keep my opinion about Jones to myself out of respect for the project.

actually, people will shove it down my throat. i'll hear it all over the radio, and i'll be told by the media, that if i don't give money, via this project, i am a bad dude. never mind if i gave money, some other way. you watch. if i was a bettor, i'd win on that one.
it's really simple...nobody wants to hear it, but people misuse the word 'charity', wayyy too much, to play on other people.
but, it's not defeating the purpose, because there are enough ways to give.

and please...don't tell me there was no egotistical stuff in the studio, here. i just heard lil wayne say, that, 'even Tony Bennet must have had a hand held and was sayin..."oh my god, that's Lil Wayne!!" '

Michael Jackson’s three children have just joined the ranks of dozens of artists involved in the re-recording of “We Are The World.” News broke today via Entertainment Tonight that Paris, Prince, and
will narrate an introduction to the track being recorded for charity.​

The three kids have banded to together and recorded themselves reciting a poem and special words which will precede the song, whose proceeds will directly benefit the earthquake victims in Haiti. The poem is written by Maya Angelou at the request of Michael's mother, Katherine Jackson.​

A family insider tells WENN, "They wanted to put a special message on the song - a message that echoes everything their father wanted for the world."​

The track will also feature Janet Jackson, who has agreed to sing her brother's lines for the revamp. We can’t wait to hear this remake! And we love that it’s all for an amazing cause.​

I don't believe Michael was like that. I can't believe he would say these things. I am disgusted with him and nobody can tell me that was misprinted or something like that. Vitiligo runs in Michael's family. Obviously he has something against Michael. Michael liked to grow and expand and there in nothing wrong with that. He left motown and Berry Gordy and you don't see him talking about Michael like that. I try to be fair but there is no good explanation for comments like that.

Then what really irks me is that he says the he lost his little brother and part of him is gone etc. You don't say he was trying to be white and the vitiligo was a an excuse if you really loved and cared about someone. He should have understood what Michael was going through.

And guess what........its not as good as the original!!!!!!!!!

Haiti deserves help and should be helped, but this projecy is not about Haiti, it's about that senile phucks ego, and his desire to be relevant again. Charity does NOT work like this, charity is supposed to come from the heart.

that's right. charity is a live thing..and people think it works, no matter what. but if you are alterior, you will stop the charity process. and that is what this is all about. that's why MJ's charities always worked. and that's why there were evil people out there that wanted to, and did block them, musically, for 911 and katrina. good thing he had a place reserved for untouched self giving charity, apart from the 911 and katrina stuff that other people interrupted.

there have been a lot of corrupt businesses that went out of business, despite their yearly 'charity' functions.

i don't think you can go off topic on this one. i once tried to give to a charity, that was corrupt, because they wanted to gouge people. i had 49 dollars, and found out they required 50. that doesn't seem like much, but do you know that if ten thousand people gave 49 dollars, that would go a long way toward the charity? but, because those ten thousand had only 49 dollars, the charity ends up getting nothing. if you don't adopt the phrase 'every little bit helps', then you are corrupt. i was one dollar short, and couldn't do anything about it, so i didn't qualify, so i had to look for something else. that is a microcosm example of the generality of how it really works. charity is alive and breathing, and can see you. i don't care how weird that sounds...it's just true. there are so many ways to help, but if your heart is not pure on the subject, it will tell on you. simple as.

Well he went even further and said to "look at his kids" as evidence Michael wanted to be white. I don't care how good Jones is at producing music and I respect that talent but as a person for him to take such a low blow when his own daughter isn't exactly Foxy Brown herself is just bull. I hope the kids didn't really have to deal with him recording the poem, that maybe just someone like Lionel was there. I wouldn't put it past Jones to give a condescending attitude toward them.
