I was just searching Craigslist and found this. Not sure how legit and true it is but I have contacted them. If it's going down for real! I think we should get together and help with this.

Washington D.C. will be host to a Worldwide Celebration of the Life and Memory of Michael Jackson on Wednesday July 8, 2009 at Freedom Plaza and another site for a post Event Reception.

I found another link to it..and it's to start from 5-8:00pm. Even if it's not by the Jacksons I will still go and I think we all should as well. Those of us true fans in the area. I still wish they had not posted the Jacksons name to it..if not official or maybe they referred to it as that cause we are Jackson fans and we are family? I dunno? lol!

yeah I was gonna post that one..too! I think it has something to do with that world MJ dance thing but I had not heard too much about it. I did e-mail them for more info and told them there are fans in the area willing to help. I would rather that be us..cause some people don't know how to run MJ tributes. I will def go check it out..if it's to be true. You wanna come with me?
 
Yeah I haven't heard anything about this.....but I would for sure be interested in attending. GenieBottle and myself returned from CA last night and let me say that being around other MJ fans and spending time at Neverland did me a world of good. So if this is a definite thing, I think it would be a great way for East Coat MJ fans to pay their respects. Maybe we could get a group together to go down....
 
jermaine did say there would be others on LK. And I think he did mention that they thought about having the memorial in washington dc. That they thought of A LOT of place to have the memorial. So If it comes true I wouldn't be surprised. I will MOST DEFINITELY be there if something happens on the east coast.

I am sooo tired lol...just came back from Neverland it was so beautiful, I would love to go to an event in D.C., if this is true.

Yeah that's what I was gonna post to but my AD was for Atlanta..but problem is how do we know it will take place for sure? I wrote them back cause I would like to check it out..
 
Yo any body wanna preform a song together? if this take places since they need performer's? Not really up to singing but will do it for Mike since this seems like a good chance to show our love for MJ :)
 
Ok..this is the e-mail I received back! but dang! I will still be in Europe! I hope you all can still go though! but somehow I feel unsettled about this e-mail on certain things listed.. hmmm? maybe they have wishful thinking? lol but would be cool if this takes place.

The Tribute will be held in Freedom Plaza, between 13th and 14thStreet on Pennsylvania Ave NW. at 1pm until 5pm. Wear your Michael Jackson Tee Shirt or pparel, dress cool. We expect a record number of Mj Fans. As we approach Event Day,we will inform you of some of the celebrities coming to the historical event. The World Tributes will be held in more than 2,000 Cities, Towns and Villages worldwide on Saturday July 18, 2009.

Also we will inform you of any changes or updates.

What time of day is this happening? I'm supposed to be leaving for vacation but I will def push back my travel day if this is happening......

yaknow I always felt that something from craigslist wasn't to legeit. If the family was doing this I thought it shoulda been more official. Like how the public memorial was but on a lesser scale. Seeing this get cancelled is no shocker.
