Twilight can kiss my ***! (sorry fans)

I did start reading twilight before the whole hype started. And allthough I like the books and movie I think it's a bit to much from time to time. When the movie came out in the cinema I dragged my friend along. She never heard of Twilight but after that movie.. OMG:hysterical: She's so glad I introduced her to Twilight. I also mentioned the series before the movie came out since she likes vampire stuff. But it always was like"Nah! I still have enough to read" But after the movie she wanted to borrow mine right away and bought her own copies soon after.

My favorite ones are Twilight and New Moon. Eclipse is a bit boring form time to time and sometimes a filler up for what is coming in the last book. And with the last book I sometimes have the feeling they keep going on and on about things where i'm like ok..NEXT!!!:timer:

Ohh and Bella works on my nerves countless times:hysterical:

Even Stephen King said that Stephanie Mayer cant write for shit, lol.

And the best thing about reading that was the Twilight fans responses to his comment..."What does Stephen King kow about writing horror anywayzzzzz?"...... :mello::smilerolleyes:

well i haven't read the books nor seen the movie and after reading here i don't think i will bother. :vampire:

Why does everyone refer to Twilight as horror??

I don't really get it either.. The horror rating. Over here it was rated as horror/action. While to me it's more fantasy/romance/highschool.

As result my friend first was thinking what the.. when i dragged her along coz horror is so not my thing. And in the cinema there where some 35+ men who expected some cool horror/action. I had to laugh when i saw them sitting close to us:rofl: They left assoon as there was the lil break in between. I bet they where very disapointed.

^That is well said...I can't stand Twlight myself, everywhere I go it's Twlight. No one can't get enough of Twlight really it's...not good I never seen it and never will. I reffer Harry Potter!

I take back what I said I got bitten by the twlight Bug LOL

:toofunny: and that's mainly because of me bahahahahahahaha oh I'm so sorry buttercup I have converted you .

While I  Twilight and  I'm a huge fan of it got a problem with that then  you can all kiss my arse, but having said that I do understand why there are people out there that aren't really interested it in and prefer Harry Potter and I respect that, but Twilight has nothing to with Action or Horror films, its completely the opposite its more of fantasy/romance/highschool type of movie just like Dudie has mentioned.

Wahahaha that is so true Bubbles!!!

Well as much as I still  Harry Potter I now  Twlight, there is nothing wrong with it. You don't have to watch it really :)

Twilight...I've never really been tempted to read the books (read the first one when visiting my cousins) and quite enjoyed the second film, which I saw with my housemates at the cinema on its first day. Not that bothered about seeing the next films though, and don't think i'll read the other books either. It just doesn't interest me that much! I also agree that JK Rowling's a better writer (especially in the later books), but without having read the other Twilight books I guess I shouldn't really comment.

^What Bubbles said...I never read the books til I decied to read it. I even watch both Movies tonight and now waiting for the next one.

Terrible books, terrible films, terrible fans. They deserve each other.

People should really pursue literature and stop humouring these trifles. It's no wonder the youth are getting dumber by the minute, when all they can think about is idiot stories about some sparkly vampire or whatever. There is no substance whatsoever in those works, or in most of the works society chooses to glorify nowadays for that matter. Twilight especially has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. As Stephen King once said, the one key advantage J.K. Rowling holds over Stephenie Meyer is the fact that Rowling can actually write.

Some people may argue that, albeit moronic, the books are still, well, books. We should be grateful, then, that our youth are immersing themselves in reading rather than being out in the streets selling drugs. My answer to such a rationale is:

"The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read them." ~Mark Twain

...and at least selling drugs is a good, lucrative business education, and therefore more productive than reading Twilight. You can endorse almost anything with a "lowest common denominator" mindset.

P.S. Don't apologize, OP. It's a free country, and you can state your opinions, even if they're unpopular.

I'm not a big fan of Twilight. I have watched the movies but never touched the books. I dont understand why the hype until other authors out there starting to write books about vampires. That's getting too much. Their storyline is about the same. I have even seen some books with similar Twillight cover.

There's one thing I cant stand, Kirsten's Stewart stuttering sort of speech. Why must she be like that *__*

Two friends of mine were completely addicted to the Twilight books, the other one to the point where she was an emotional mess for weeks/months. Somehow she confused reality with fiction and became really sad when real life couldn't be like the obsessive ever-lasting relationship depicted in the books. Even though I myself am a huge fan of a book series (Harry Potter and yeah, I cried a freakin' ocean reading the books), I just couldn't understand how a book could have such a strange grip over a person.

I desperately wanted to understand my friend so I picked up the first book in the series and read it through once. My reading experience made me none the wiser, as in my opinion the book was some 400 pages of poorly written fan fiction. Every time I became optimistic that the characters would actually gain some sort of, well, character, the author completely failed by making easy choices as a writer and thus the entire book was flat, forgettable and one-dimensional. I didn't even see it as a romance novel, becasue the whole Bella-Edward affair appeared more like brainless obsession than love. After I'd read the book, my friend of course wanted to know what I made of it, so I tried to come up with something positive to say like "Yeah, I read it pretty fast, 'cause the plot was kind of easy to follow."

Wow. You're an indulgent friend. I would have just told her how it is. Twilight sucks, find a real book to read, or declare yourself an illiterate forevermore.

Needless to say I won't be making the same mistake again. I've read better fan fiction than that book.

God, i hate Twilight with the the burning passion as suns, or however you say that...!

And it makes me sick to my gut that people compares it to/favors it better than Harry Potter.

Uhum, let's give those idiots some reality check:

"Hey Harry, what have you accomplished in your life?

Oh you know just beat Voldermort when I was 11. Then his memory when I was 12. Saved my godfather when I was 13. Competed in a Triwizard Cup when I was 14 then watched my sort of friend die and witnessed the rebirth of the Dark Lord but made it out alive. Oh when I was 15 I fought Voldermort again and found out that I have a destiny and that I had to kill Voldermort if the Wizarding World were to find peace. When I was 16, I had to deal with that info and school and find Horcruxs in order to kill Voldermort and had to watch my mentor die at the hands of my enemy. 17 was a rough year too. I couldn’t return to school, Voldermort took over the Wizarding World, I chased down Horcruxs with my best friends, almost lost one, found the place where my parents died protecting me, then I broke into a bank, stole a dragon, flew to Hogwarts and lead my friends into battle against the forces of evil, losing some of them at the hands of evil wizards, then sacrificed myself so the war could end and give my friends a chance. Turns out I managed to kill the part of Voldermort in me then killed him and saved the entire world. And that was all in just a span of 7 years.

Hey Edward Cullen, you’ve been around forever. What the f**k have you done besides whine and bitch and moan?"

This is how I feel about Twilight:

First of all I want to say I have read up to the middle of the third book and threw it across the room. I also believe these books need to be burned and my reasons are:

  • 1. Bella/Edwards relationship is an emotional abusive relationship. This is not love, this is obsession. Edward stalks Bella before they even get together. How creepy it is that he watches her while she sleeps, without her knowing.
  • He denies her the ability to be friends with Jacob. (and for sake of this argument lets get rid of vampire/werewolf conflict). Edward even goes to the extent of paying off his sister to kidnap Bella to stay away from Jacob. He as well removes her engine from going off to see him. She has to sneak around her friendship with Jacob. Is this love? NO it is CONTROL.
  • Edward condones lying to her family about them. He also alienates her from her friends, to the point where it's only Her and the Cullens.
  • He tries to put fear into her saying he is too dangerous for her, yet STILL pursues her.
  • When she gets a paper cut in the second book Edward gets scared, so he dumps her because his family is too dangerous for her. What does Bella do? She has been so obsessed with Edward she is numb to the world. NOT LOVE. Her kicks are becoming extreme to the point where she tries to seek danger just to see a glimpse of him. Obsession not love.
  • When Edward believes Bella had died, he wanted to commit suicide. Obsession not love.
Sorry for the long post but this is the reason why I dislike the books, because many teens/pre-teens believe this is true love and what a real boyfriend should be. I do not condone this behavior, and I believe Stephanie Myers should be ashamed for this catastrophe (sp) of a book.

I believe condoning a relationship of emotional abuse is disgusting. That is why I believe these books should be burned.

PS. Bella's character is a mary jane, she has no depth. She is a character a girl nor a woman should achieve to aspire to.

I usually find the idea of burning books to be abhorrent, however, Twilight has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. It's pure trash. I'll go get the kerosene, you collect all the copies, we'll toast marshmallows, join hands, and sing "Kumbayah" and "Man in the Mirror."

I dont really like vampires.
Im not a girl.
Im not gay.

BUT i like the Twilight movies.
