Thriller 40th Anniversary

I came across this again yesterday, and it got me so hyped for the ‘thriller 40’ documentary. I wonder why spike lee didn’t direct it, to complete the epic trilogy like he wanted to?
the footage of michael performing ‘don’t stop til you get enough’ is dazzling and rare. he already had the footwork, and he sounded angelic💜
thriller will be even better I just know it 🤩

Michael at 1:15:
‘What I do, I don’t want it labelled ‘black’ or ‘white’, I want it labelled just ‘music’

Spike Lee: Let me label everything MJ did as 'black'

Re-release thriller 40 as a boxset with an additional third disc with more tracks (we haven't heard) and the documentary on Blu-ray as the fourth disc. This is the stuff the estate would never think to do.
Because that's actually a terrible idea. Why would they make a Thriller 41 box set? Just get it right the first time.

You know thriller 25 was released after the 25th anniversary of thriller right?
And Thriller 40 was released in time for the 40th, so that period is done.

As for T25. It was done only the 1 time. No second reissue necessary.

The only thing coming after the 40th is the Thriller Documentary, but people think that's sacrilege enough. Just say you want new songs again.

Fair enough. I’d rather a live concert

Na the real ones want new concerts

After teasing the HD victory tour footage, I absolutely want more concerts lol. For years, the estate said only Munich was shot for release. We know for a fact this isnt true. So I'm assuming they must of recently found/scanned the victory tour film.
Prob cause they finally got approval from the brothers. Also can anyone tell me why the brothers are so hesitant on releasing things?

They hinted at a possible release back in 2017 I think. The tour had many third parties $$ involved so any release wouldn't be cheap as far as I know. It still confuses me how no official Jacksons (video) concert material has ever been released.

I think this discussion happened on another thread a few months ago, but it is all due to some issues:

The footage is owned by MJ, who hired and paid Patrick Kelly and his crew from his pocket to document the tour. With that in mind, the Estate would want a bigger slice of the pie.
The Victory Tour was a Jacksons tour, so they'd probably want it at least 50/50 and have it as a Jacksons release. However, besides the fact presented above, the setlist had more MJ solo songs than Jacksons songs and the Estate would want to put it out as a MJ release (or MJ and The Jacksons), something that they refuse to accept.

They did it for the This Is It single though.
