Thriller 40th Anniversary

I do not understand why why haven't got a premiere date of the Thriller doc. - We was told it would be broadcast in January, and it's now January 10th - and still we haven't heard a thing. I doubt it will be released this month. If they wanna build up a little hype and release teasers and trailers, I think the doc will be premiered in February or March. - I hope I'm wrong of course. But I really do not understand why we haven't heard anything.

Also I hope it will be made available on Blu-Ray like BAD25 and the From Motown to your town doc...

The final edit of this documentary will be really close to Spike's approach of describing the impact of the album rather than being a making-of sort of film and people won't be bitchy about it just because it's not Spike doing it. Mark my words.

I mean from the description of the doc and feedback from the preview that's exactly what it's gonna be. Also the guy who's doing it now is much worse than Spike lol.

The Estate changes plans all the time. Who knows maybe they are still trying to lock in a streaming service or scrap it all together.

I hope they edit more studio and live footage into the final doc.

What all praised it was the studio and live footage. Hope they listen to the feedback from those who saw the early screenings and add more of what those peole really enjoyed. - And that was studio and live footage.

Also I hope for as much info about how the songs were created, when, where etc. MJ's involvment with the instrumentation, MJ's ideas and inputs etc. The creative proces would be nice to hear more about. - And in a perfect world Paul McCartney would participate and talk about TGIM and more studio footage.

Taken into consideration that there was and has been zero promotion... None what so ever...

I think T40 has done great. - I have no idea how people knew it was released with no TV adds, no promo, nothing. Still it has boosted Thrillers sales all around the world.

I know that Billie Jean in 4K is unlikely, but can’t they update it to HD, at least? Can’t they upgrade to 1080p from 480p?

It'd be pointless as we can upscale it ourselves from one of the multiple DVD sources, but the result wouldn't be good.
I bet the original tape master is really worn out by now.

Other than the 16mm negatives, I don't think they have any other potential upgrade in quality available for the Billie Jean video.
However, they could give us fresh digital transfers in the max quality possible of the OTW videos. SD BluRay releases prove that DVD quality is not the best possible for SD footage.

I doubt it'll be released at all. They aren't going to say anything. Time will just go by. Watch & see

Sadly, if they weren't going to include BJ remaster with Thriller & Beat it then I doubt its happening at all now. Hope I'm wrong though.

hope billie jean 4k, along with 4k preformances of human nature, wbss, billie jean and beat it from the victory tour come out too.

will say that the effects on billie jean definetally are not hard to recreate, but the issue might be that adding the extra quality might make the video look cheap as hell.

Please no more thriller anniversary it is enough 25 and 40 better want dangerous and history or blue ray all short films hd

won't be surprised if remastered Billie Jean video will be published on March 10th, which is 40th anniversary of this short.
That's right. The video was put March 10th, the song came January 2nd. I didn't realize the distinction for some reason. That makes much more sense, yeah.
