THIS IS IT new song 43 seconds

So when the say midnight do they mean EST, PST or central?

Leaking part of the song was the best thing that could have happened. It's getting alot of press and will just increase the demand for it.

I still wish you could buy it, it sounds like an 80's era mj song which is wonderful.

I think MJ is in complete & total control of his creative decisions - so the choice of "This Is It/I Never Heard" - I think was his decision.

To build an entire production & behind the scenes documentary around the "This Is It" theme - I think was was his decision.

When it came to his art, MJ was in complete & total control.

Have you guys read this? It answers a lot of questions.

The first drop in what might be a flood of unheard Jackson material is a song called "This Is It," which Sony had scheduled to send to radio stations on Sunday night. Based on a tape Jackson left behind containing only his piano and vocals, a full arrangement was built, complete with swelling strings and his brothers' backup vocals. The song is to run during the closing credits of the new Jackson film, perhaps not coincidentally called "This Is It.''

If "This Is It" is any guide, the provenance of leftover Jackson songs might be difficult to establish. It is not clear when the song was written or recorded, Stringer said, and Sony originally believed that the tape was made around the time of Jackson's 1991 album "Dangerous." But it could have been much earlier, perhaps even as early as the album "Off the Wall," from 1979.

"We just found the song," Stringer said. "It was titled `This Is It.' It was in a box, and we listened to it.''

"This Is It" was also to have been the title of Jackson's 50-concert run in London, although the synergy is unclear; Stringer and others with knowledge of the production say the song was not part of it.

Enterprising fans online, however, quickly found that "This Is It" is not exactly new. It bears a strong resemblance to "I Never Heard," a 1991 track by the R&B singer Sa-Fire that was written by Jackson and Paul Anka. Stringer said that until this was pointed out by sleuthing fans, he had not known about the connection. "I really have no idea what the origins of the song are," he said.

Michael Jackson is tipped to have the biggest selling single of all time when a never-heard-before song is released at midnight.

The track This Is It, remixed to feature vocals from his brothers, has been billed by Sony record industry bosses as an "exciting moment in musical history".

The tragic King of Pop, who died on June 25 aged 51, originally recorded the track for his 1991 album, Dangerous, but it was left off in favour of hits like Black or White and Heal the World.

The single's cover features a new photo of Jackson striking a pose while rehearsing at LA's Staples Center before his doomed This Is It London gigs at the O2 Arena.

It is expected to soar to the top of the charts, giving him his first UK No1 since Blood on the Dance Floor in 1997.

A documentary film about *****'s planned comeback, also called This Is It, is out on October 28.

I thought it was not being released as a single, but I would love it if it was because MJ would easily hit number one in every country just out of curiousity!

OMG - SaFire was a Sony artist for the 1980s & 1990s doing both Spanish Salsa and Freestyle Music.

She had a popular ballad called "Thinking of you" that came out too.

SaFire is a really nice person, BTW.

Ok, why would Michael give a song to some female singer? Has he done that before? And who was on his mind when he wrote it? Any clue?

BTW, I think the only REALLY new songs by MJ are on that missing hard drive that nobody's talking about.

Oh, and they found "This it it" in a BOXE??? Was it on that missing hard drive?

My inquiring mind wants to know.

Man all this mania for this song!!! :wild:

Its amazing!

Oh me too don't get me wrong, it sounds like it's going to be a gorgeous song.

It's just Michael was such a perfectionist and I hate that Sony can release whatever they want from now on. It makes me sad to think that some songs that he hadn't finished or had only just began working on are now being finished by other people and being released without knowing whether he wanted the public to hear them yet or not.

one of the most beautful songs i ever heard... listen since 2 days nealry 1000 times until now ..:D

I could not agree more MJsPYT90. I am sure the full song will be wonderful. But I am wondering too that if it was recorded in the early 90s why he did not release it while he was still here - even as filler on HIStory.

As I understand it - his brothers backing tracks were added afterwards - I am not sure that is something Michael would have done while alive.

Still - here I am up waiting till midnight so I can hear the song - and I know I am not waiting alone - so I guess that says something too.

Let's hope what they release will be fitting.

So Michael never intended to release this song and the brothers put their vocals on it, so they could have a % of the profits. I don't like this. I am not gonna be buying the album, I'm sorry.

They are also not releasing it as a single, so it won't be successful in the charts either. And I don't see radio giving airplay to this old song.

I totally agree with what ur saying here and ur right. The fact that mike is no longer here to say what he wants to be released or not to be released, really angers me. The fact that sony dont wanna do michael justice really does make wanna scream!

I am abit over these compilations! I can't believe there's only 4 demos...ehhh I would like to buy the single if it comes out but def. not the album...*shrugs*

Why would someone have to be on his mind to write lyrics? Inspiration comes from many things, not always a "who".....and I suppose we'd have to ask Paul Anka the same question, since he co-wrote the song. :)

Question.. What if I accidently will login on MJ.COM 5 minutes after midnight? Does it mean I can not listen to it anymore?

I am struggling to stay up! :D

Yes i agree when it comes to writing music u dont have to write bout "someone" and can be anything that makes u wanna write.

How long is there to go now? It's 3:45 in the morning here but I really want to hear this song! Oh Michael, the things I do for you lol :D
