The Tribute London

I do not think this will happen unfortunately, you are right Michael and the fans deserve to have an event to pull together at

the company that was organising the vienna concert and i presume the london one with jermaine closed down. so if hes gonna do anything it will have to be with someone else. unless hes been organising it already and is gonna anounce tickets soon then i doubt it will happen this year. should leave it to the kids

I've just read on a Dutch website that Jermaine is still busy organising the tribute in London!
Ah well, let's just wait and see...

The company that was financing it went bust but there has been no official word on whether the tribute has been cancelled. Trouble is that it is March, June isn't that far off which scares the life out of me. I don't want June to come, one year officially without Michael

I really would like a tribute concert for Michael, for all fans to come together, I think it would be really nice. But I cant believe how fast the time has gone. Its March already.....it's fast approaching that soon it's gonna be June and one year without Michael :( I just cant believe how fast the time has gone....its very scary.

Hmm, I guess if Wembley has been booked then that's good news but I have no confidence that this tribute will go ahead at all and even if it does, then I'm not convinced it will be a fitting tribute to Mike.

If Jermaine is arranging this, it will put far too much influence on close family friends and ageing stars that nobody really wants to see. With the exception of maybe Stevie and Lionel the other 'usual suspects' will be wrong for this show. Nobody wants to see Liza Minelli, Smokey Robinson, Jill Scott, or Dionne Warwick on stage again. Nobody wants to see Jennifer Hudson etc. With Jermaine at the helm I'm 90% certain those people will be asked.

For a tribute concert that will really get the postive press attention it deserves it will need to include the contemporary acts. It needs to include Akon, Usher, Will.i.am, Ne Yo, Beyonce, JT, Jason Derulo (have you heard his version of Billie Jean BTW??). It needs to be professional (something I doubt Jermaine can pull off because he has no experience of organizing events on this scale) and it needs to be spectaculer.

Sorry for the negativity, but I just feel that the estate should have allowed an entertainment company to organise this show, rather than allow Jermaine to do it.

so far Wembley has the following events announced for August:

The FA Community Shield (Date to be announced)
Potential England friendly Wed 11 August
Rugby League Challenge Cup Final Sat 28 August

I've read in the Dutch media he's trying to book Justin Timberlake...
Edit: And Usher...
Let's just see what he comes up with. I really like the idea of a tribute for Michael in the Wembley Stadium. Something that will be broadcasted all around the world!

This is good news...Well at least someone is trying to do something for MJ, I don't see anyone else trying to do this for him, Let Jemaine get serious with this!!

He specifically said Wembley.

thanks. well it wont be the birthday weekend as its booked up

he's trying to book Justin Timberlake...
oh dear will everyone get a free bottle to throw at him

orry for the negativity, but I just feel that the estate should have allowed an entertainment company to organise this show, rather than allow Jermaine to do it.
i doubt the estate is involved at all. they werent for the vienna one. this is the same just a new location. we saw how things went with his p.c all over europe anouncing artists that didnt even have a clue what was going on.

could be but tbh i would doubt it. they want to make as much £ as poss and have as many attending. if it were gonna be at an arena theres only one place for it.. theres also that event in indiana on the b.day weekend unless jerm wants to compete with it

Jermaine isn't doing anything for Michael, he is doing all he can to fill his pockets. There won't be any tribute happening organized by Jermaine, mark my words, this whole thing has failure written all over it.

I agree with you on the failure point.

In my opinion, Jermaine is going to need top notch acts and after what happened in Vienna, I just don't see folks wanting to be a part of this revised tribute.

If there is even anything in the works. To tell you the truth, I'm not even sure about that. I just think if something was TRULY in the works, we would have started hearing about it already. He can't expect to book MAJOR acts at the last minute. These folks are usually booked up well in advance and I also think the major acts would want to deal with folks who have more experience in this area.

No offense to Jermaine, but this is a major undertaking, that will need to be headed by someone with major experience.

So two fan gatherings are planned at around the same time. One in Gary and the other one in London. And the Estate isn't involved in either of them. hmmmmm..

Why can't Michael of all people get a proper tribute concert?

you know...Instead of people always getting on Jermaine and the Jackson Family about their plans to honor their blood relative...why don't those same people get on THE ESTATE EXECUTORS who don't seem to be concerned with honoring MJ properly. If they would get behind one of these planned events (or actually organize one themselves) maybe we would have something amazing to look forward to this summer besides Spike Lee's shin- dig.

IMO, they should leave the tribute for the time being and focus on Murray but as usual people are divided. I rather want a tribute happening when Michael's children are 17/8 (the older 2) and let them organize something, I'm sure they'll have the estate back them up and a whole new generation of ''big'' artists participating in it. All Jermaine is trying to do is to cash in. I don't understand why people rush these kind of, stuff especially considering all they do is to harm his legacy. We are talking about Michael Jackson and his legacy deserves more than selfish people running around trying to pull of a pitiful tribute for their own sake.

they have more inmportant issues to deal with like all the lawsuits etc.a tribute can happen anytime.
