The Simpsons... BUT ITS NOT FUNNY ANYMORE! The last few years have been shit, especially after the movie. The reason family guy is funny is because its not limited to any kind of realism like The Simpsons, sme as Futurama, where anything can happen.
 
The Simpsons, but yes is not funny anymore.
 
Definitely The Simpsons they are still just as funny. As they were when I first remember seeing them on The Tracey Ullman Show back in the late 80s. I hate The Family Guy I had seen some episodes of it and I still don't get the humor in it. I don't understand what is so funny about that show. I think the show is absolutely horrible.
 
My opinion on this is even on a bad day The Simpsons are FAR superior. Don't get me wrong I have laughed a bit at Family Guy, because of Stewie, which is the ONLY reason to even watch the show. Family Guy is just a cheap rip off of the Simpsons with only one tenth of the intelligence level. I LOVED South Park's rip on Family guy, with them saying that Family Guy could be basically written by manatees. I prefer the Simpsons because they're just better. Period. All shows have good and bad seasons, even for the Simpsons. The Simpsons get mad respect from South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker...which I think says a lot.

The Simpsons are timeless, and endless too apparently. Whereas Family Guy is just a flash in the quick humour pan.
 
If this was like 10 years ago I'd say the Simpsons but its gone down in quality as of late so I'll say Family Guy. Though the exact same thing can be said about that show.
 
Family Guy is the funniest thing on TV.

There soo racist and take the piss out of anythin etc & just get away with everythin.

Family does not have one episode where it isnt funny

Also..... if you dont like Family Guy because they have done somethin against MJ, thats quite sad. (Have'nt read all the comments in here, but members on here would do that)
 
it's so hard to decide! but im gonna go with family guy....only because iv seen and re-seen simpsons over and over.

but i do love them both!
 
The Simpsons is overrated, and Family Guy is one of the funniest tv shows on the air. So I go with Family Guy.
 
no way, definitely the simpsons for me. i sit there and laugh like the entire episode and it's actually really good satire too. there was one time where i had the simpsons on and i was in the kitchen with my dad and homer said something to lisa and my dad and i just starting laughing, like the kind of laughing where you spit out what you were eating and your side starts hurting and you actually have to calm yourself down to try and stop kind of laughing.
family guy is just too crass for my taste.
 
My heart is for the simpsons but my dirty rotten brain says Family Guy. Family Guy always makes me LAUGH OUT LOUD. Rather than inside amusement. I just can't hold it in when I watch that show. South Park is my favourite of them all.
 
Im going to have to say Family Guy. the Simpson's is funny too. and it is original, and my hat goes off to them, but family guy is more out there, WTF?! funny....and Stewy is hands down HILLERIOUS!! I love how he talks XD

 
I honestly do not think they should be compared.
They are both brilliant in their own ways!

But if we must compare them, then I will say The Simpsons! I hope people arent comparing todays family guy to older Simpsons episodes. There is no contest in humour there, however todays Simpsons I find funnier than Family Guy. Plus I grew up on The Simpsons! :D
The stories are better on The Simpsons IMO as well, especially the older ones, mid 90's.

South Park is also brilliant, and I would put it ahead of Family Guy but slightly behind The Simpsons in my top 3! South Park is different from both though, and again I would not compare them.

I love South Park in the way that, a lot of the episodes start of with something so small and basic, and ends up with something outrageous.

For example, The episode with the whale (cant remember its name) at the start of the episode the people working at the sea world type place are messing with Kyle by speaking over the tannoy pretending the whale is talking to Kyle, and saying that it lives on the moon and wants to get back their. Thats something really small.

However, by the end of the episode they are flying a whale to the moon with a rocket lmao Love it!

Theres also the one where Mr Garrison gets a sex change, and Kyle wants to be a tall black kid and ends up actually being one, and his dad also gets turned into a Dolphin. Youve gotta love South Park.

However I prefer the episodes without as much dirty stuff in lol I show that to my mum and she wouldnt want to watch it, however she found the episode where they get The Dog Whisperer to train Cartman hilarious.

Cartman is the obvious favourite, and I also love Butters.

Every episode of FG is:

"We havent done that since we were kids" [Cuts to when they were kids]

"I havent tasted that since that time I ate my toe jam" [Cuts to tow jam eating]

etc

FG is extremely repetitive.
 
The Simpsons in its prime was one of the smartest, funniest shows around. However, the last ten years have been really, really dull to me. I don't really watch The Simpsons anymore, its lost the dry, sarcastic humor that it made it so great. Family Guy, on the other hand, is simply hilarious.

Homer went from a lovable oaf who was simply not very bright into a downright stupid, annoying, sexually-confused moron. He's just not funny anymore, nor is the rest of the show.

It's hard to directly compare the two because The Simpsons was never as risque as Family Guy.

Family Guy I don't find repetitive at all. They do lots of random flashback scenes or pop culture references, but those are usually my favorite. Here's some of my favs:

Dunno what to say really, you enjoy it or you don't. It's a distinct style of humor.

However, some of the stuff is hilarious and I'll hear nothing otherwise.



How can anyone not find that funny?
 
The Simpsons movie sucked and I thought the Futurama full length feature was better than The Simpsons first full length feature.
