Michael Jackson: 11,000 Roses sent to his grave on Death Anniversary June 25, 2012 |
Fans from around the world sent a flood of flowers Monday to commemorate pop icon Michael Jackson on the third anniversary of his death.
Nearly 11,000 long-stem roses decorated the Great Mausoleum at
Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale where Michael Jackson is interred. Hundreds more bouquets, teddy bears, posters and flower stands some sent from as far away as Japan, Italy and Russia, crowded the makeshift memorial in what has become an annual event for devoted fans.
The crowd gathered outside the Great Mausoleum, which is closed to the general public, got a thrill at midday when Michael Jackson’s brother Randy, emerged to sign autographs and take pictures.
Among the throng of fans was Carlo Riley, a well-known Jackson impersonator who said he plans to make the annual trip from Denver for many years to come.
“Even though he’s gone, this is still my passion,” Riley said.
Michael Jackson, 50, died June 25, 2009, after suffering cardiac arrest at his mansion in the Holmby Hills. His doctor, cardiologist Conrad Murray, was later found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for administering a fatal dose of the powerful surgical anesthetic propofol.
Los Angeles resident Robyn Starkand -– who helped organize the massive rose delivery through her online, PayPal-fueled campaign “One Rose for Michael Jackson” –- said the roses allowed many more fans who couldn’t make the trek feel like they were part of the memorial.
Asked why she chose roses, Starkland said it was an easy pick. “It’s the creme de la creme of flowers, and that’s what he was.":agree::heart::give_rose:

THE BUILDER’S CREED, Forest Lawn Glendale
Always when I am at Forest Lawn I stay next to the Great Mausoleum, some steps away from Michael, in front of the "Builder's Creed" - the own words of Hubert L. Eaton. And I say again today: "Thank you, Mr. Eaton, for that wonderful, precious place which you built in 1917, thank you, that Michael has his place of silence in that (your) beautiful Garden of EDEN on our earth... Your words are so, so true! Thank you so much, Claudia"
THE BUILDER’S CREED
I Believe In A Happy Eternal Life.
I Believe Those Of Us Who Are Left Behind Should Be Glad In The Certain Belief That Those Gone Before, Who Believed In Him, Have Entered Into That Happier Life.
I Believe, Most Of All, In A Christ That Smiles And Loves You And Me.
I Therefore Know The Cemeteries Of Today Are Wrong, Because They Depict An End, Not A Beginning. They Have Consequently Become Unsightly Stone yards Full Of Inartistic Symbols And Depressing Customs; Places That Do Nothing For Humanity Save A Practical Act, And Not That Well.
I Therefore Prayerfully Resolve On This New Year’s Day, 1917, That I Shall Endeavor To Build Forest Lawn As Different, As Unlike Other Cemeteries As Sunshine Is To Darkness, As Eternal Life Is Unlike Death. I Shall Try To Build At Forest Lawn A Great Park, Devoid Of Misshapen Monuments And Other Customary Signs Of Earthly Death, But Filled With Towering Trees, Sweeping Lawns, Splashing Fountains, Singing Birds, Beautiful Statuary, Cheerful Flowers, Noble Memorial Architecture With Interiors Full Of Light And Color, And Redolent Of The World’s Best History And Romances.
I Believe These Things Educate And Uplift A Community.
Forest Lawn Shall Become A Place Where Lovers New And Old Shall Love To Stroll And Watch The Sunset’s Glow, Planning For The Future Or Reminiscing Of The Past; A Place Where Artists Study And Sketch; Where School Teachers Bring Happy Children To See Things They Read Of In Books, Where Little Churches, Triumphant In The Knowledge That From Their Pulpits Only Words Of Love Can Be Spoken; Where Memorialization Of Loved Ones In Sculptured Marble And Pictorial Glass Shall Be Encouraged But Controlled By Acknowledged Artists; A Place Where The Sorrowing Will Be Soothed And Strengthened Because It Will Be God’s Garden. A Place That Shall Be Protected By An Immense Endowment Care Fund, The Principal Of Which Can Never Be Expended—Only The Income Therefrom Used To Care For And Perpetuate This Garden of Memory.
This Is The Builder’s Dream; This Is The Builder’s Creed.
.....................................................................................................
Dr. Hubert L. Eaton was always precise and exact when he was creating each new addition to Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks. He wanted always to make things visible and clear and also to perhaps create an aura of awesome wonder as viewed through the various art forms so tastefully featured throughout each of the Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks in Southern California. In Dr. Eaton’s words he wanted this magnificent art “to inspire and uplift you; to encourage you to focus on God, The Creator of all things.”
From the very beginning, when Dr. Eaton first assumed ownership of the small cemetery that would evolve into the massive, beautiful, and inspiring Forest Lawn Memorial-Park in Glendale, CA, Dr. Eaton engraved forever in stone what he would call “The Builder’s Dream and The Builder’s Creed.”

Before the statue of Michael Jackson's people brought in the day of the third anniversary of his death from a thousand flowers...27th June 2012 9:15
A moving remembrance of the king of pop Michael Jackson (? 50) in the form of literally thousands of flowers flooded the cemetery Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California. His admirers and fans brought to the place his monument an estimated ten thousand flowers, most of which were red roses. View on heavy with flowers instead of once again reminded of how important and unforgettable singer Michael Jackson was.
On Monday, it was exactly three years ago, when the world learned hardly believable report on the singer's tragic death. It happened just a few weeks before his long-awaited and fifty concerts sold out in London.
Jackson overdosed on medication that was administered by his personal physician, cardiologist Conrad Murray. This was after many court eventually stalls last year found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. He was assessed a penalty of four years imprisonment.
One Rose For Michael  is a project that is very dear to my heart so I wanted to make a tribute to honor the angels who worked so hard to put it together and all of Michael's loving fans who supported it.

Just a suggestion : When anyone goes to forest lawn with flowers for Michael if you can spare a few flowers and you feel it in your heart...please remember the babies that are there and bring them a few flowers from your bouquet to Babyland and Lullabyland, as many of them have no one to remember them......... its all for love ?
Re: The One Rose for Michael Jackson at Forest Lawn Cemetery - World Wide Fan Event June 25th, 2012?
WOW, That really touched my
I wish we had a 'lullaby land' here too... The babies gone to heaven here just 'rest' among the 'adults...
By the day, my  and RESPECT for 'Forest lawn' is 'growing'... Funny as 2 years ago I couldn't even think of that place without and NOW... I'm so  Michael is 'resting' in such a 'beautiful place...
