The Michael Jackson Chart Watch

Yesterday 15 January 2023 I wrote down all streams for the Invincible album at around 17.30 PM. Today I do the same for comparison because I am curious how much each song gains in a 24h period.

So that's it. Heaven can wait didn't fall back to the 2000+ streams of the other non singles so it looks like it will stay and probably lowly gain in popularity as years go by. It is now at the same level of YRMW in daily streaming despite never getting any attention. Butterflies was a radio hit back in the day and apparently some people have not forgotten that as it is clearly the 3rd favorite song on the album. HCW will eventually surpass Butterflies as it has 3 times more streams a day.
Unbreakable and Break of Dawn are slightly ahead of the pack due to the inclusion of the songs on compilation albums "scream" and "number ones".
2 other songs that slightly stand out are Speechless and Whatever Happens. This marginal lead comes from them being fan favorite tracks.

The least popular tracks gain about 500 000 streams a year.

I'm still slightly mystified as to how it all got started for HCW on TT but don't really care. As long as people are finding it and listening, I'm happy.

I am happy to see that Heaven Can Wait is still getting a decent amount of daily streams, after it blew up in the summer.

I would love to see Speechless or Butterflies go viral on tiktok. These two songs deserve way more, in my opinion.

Speechless will blow up when it plays over the ending credits of the biopic ;-)

Anyway I'm doing more albums. I just wrote down the tallies today of Thriller and the T40 extra disc so if all goes well and my brain doesn't shut down I will make a post about it tomorrow lol. I'm also interested in the tallies of his Motown records.

I remember when Invincible got released I send leaked MP3s to a good friend who I would describe as a casual fan at best. A day later he said to me he had been playing speechless non stop. I think it can have a big impact on people.

It’s the vocals. While Michael’s vocals on the invincible album weren’t the best, his vocal delivery on Speechless is one of his best. He sounds angelic.

So the main thriller tracks are all popular. All 9 tracks get more streams a day than all but 2 songs on Invincible (YRMW and HCW). In roughly 5 months time Beat It will be part of BILLION club.
The T40 tracks are all on the same level as the 13 invincible tracks (bar the current big 3 of the album). Starlight is the main standout with 2 to 3 times more streams as the other "new" tracks each day. In maximum 1,5 years time all the new tracks will have breached the 1 million barrier at the current rate.

Interesting tidbit is that heaven can wait gets more daily streams than the classic WBSS

Ainsi, les principales pistes de thriller sont toutes populaires. Les 9 pistes reçoivent plus de flux par jour que toutes les chansons sauf 2 sur Invincible (YRMW et HCW). Dans environ 5 mois, Beat It fera partie du club BILLION.
Les titres du T40 sont tous au même niveau que les 13 titres invincibles (sauf les 3 grands actuels de l'album). Starlight est la principale vedette avec 2 à 3 fois plus de flux que les autres "nouveaux" morceaux chaque jour. Dans un délai maximum d'un an et demi, toutes les nouvelles pistes auront franchi la barrière du million au rythme actuel.

Une information intéressante est que le ciel peut attendre obtient plus de flux quotidiens que le WBSS classique

What can I say these streams are as good as non existent and I firmly believe it is because the songs are credited to the Jacksons and not Michael Jackson despite Michael being the lead singer in most of those tracks. So who listens to these? I don't know perhaps only the absolute die hard fans? Maybe it are some weird people who love the Jacksons but not Michael Jackson? On these 3 albums there are only about 5 tracks that equal Invincible's daily streams and they are already quite low.
I wanna highlight one of my favorites: be not always, it gets played 122 times a day in a world of 8 billion people.

Yeah that's what came out of my calculator lol

Now there is also a single edit for shake your body down to the ground which probably has about 10 to 15 000 streams a day as well but this is the long album version.
