I like Michael's hat better. And Bill's hat.
Latin:
dies lunae
dies martis
dies mercuri
dies iovis
dies veneris
dies saturni
dies solis
The name for Thursday in Dutch is donderdag?
Is it the same women, too? The middle one looks familiar. Here's those traditional Welsh hats again!
What happened?I’m not getting anything done today.
I suppose the question should rather be “what did not happen?” To which the answer is: sleep. What happened?
Also: a very soft skeleton!
fenestrationEnglish window
Swedish fönster
Great word, that.fenestration
Just seemed so obvious.Great word, that.
Is that how you use the word fenestration? I thought it was about throwing somebody out of a window?Just seemed so obvious.
fonster - Swedish for window
fenestra - Latin for window
fenestration - the arrangement and design of windows in a building
There's something very jolly going on here.
Seriously? I have no idea. Never heard of that. I only know the 'window design' thing. It's a bit of an old-fashioned word these days but it's lodged in my brain from way back.Is that how you use the word fenestration? I thought it was about throwing somebody out of a window?
I didn't know about this but I just found out there's a window / door fitting company called Vindauga. The company logo incorporates a Viking helmet, lol. It’s really interesting, the links between languages. And I seem to recall that your ‘window’ is from Old Norse ‘vindauga’ (eye of the wind; Swedish ‘vindöga’)!
