sorry i got ooh , bit zapped then ! dont call me mystic meg for gawd sake girls haha

As a kid, I was COMPLETELY fascinated by displays of insects petrified in amber!! So awesome!
If I ever do get an amber necklace mine will not have dead insects in it. I get the whole 'fossilised' thing but I'm not having it. No siree!

Also, as a kid, I doubted amber was real valuable because it feels like and is light like a lump of molten plastic. lol
It can feel weirdly plasticky, can't it? I don't think it would ever be one that I would love for its texture. A lot of my crystals - which are mostly cheap tumble stones - are loved by me just for the texture alone. I have a lot of unpolished ones which I prefer.

The colors and shapes attract me the most. Mine are mostly cheap and "self found". Some really do remember me of my childhood or the places where I found them.

Some of the best memories are when we found some feldspar (Feldspat) or even pyrite glimmer hidden in a plain looking stone.

Yes, most of my gems I bought for the shape and / or colour. I've got some chunky ones but nothing ginormous.

I've always lived in cities so 'self-found' = found 'em in the woo woo shop. :ROFLMAO:

I never did any of that 'oh, let your hand hover over them and wait until you feel the bond'. oh fgs, just pick one and buy it!

That's so nice. All of mine come from shops or museums but I do love them even though they annoy me intensely, lol. Funnily enough I can remember which shop I bought each one from even where I have several the same.

Ah, feldspar, that's another one I don't have.

I have some pyrite which I adore. Pyrite is so cool.

See, I've got enough to be able to do this sort of thing but I just can't be arsed. I never know where to put them and am I supposed to dust them and am I supposed to pay attention to them or are they going to sulk? I don't like ornaments and I don't like 'things'. I like to bond with my gems just by handling them every now and then and then putting them away. I don't seem to want them on display. But this is really beautiful. I like photos of mandalas but I don't want to do them. I'm not very artistic, really. It's probably that.

I used to love rose quartz. since 2015I tend to use alot of tourmaline , jasper, moonstone , amth , agate ,
Recently I the 'blue' stones speak to me.

I may be some time. Here's a Courtney Love quote, nothing to do with crystals, I just like it.

"I'm a shite guitar player. I have a sound ... I can write a song, I just can't execute it so well."

So I have just unearthed the various tins, boxes, padded make-up bags and furry pencil cases which house my crystals. And the first shock was - I had them all wrapped up in green plastic. 😲

What was I thinking? No wonder the garnets and the Herkimer diamond decided to bugger off. I would, too!

I'm going in! :D
