"This was the band's first gig outside of America, just prior to the release of Appetite for Destruction. It was their managar Alan Niven's idea to fly the band to the UK in the hope of creating a media buzz that would give them some credibility back home."

They were in London for 10 days, played 3 gigs at The Marquee, came back four months later and played a sell-out gig at Hammersmith Odeon. And they were on their way.

Record Collector, November edition, out now. The write-up is only a paragraph but I think you'll like it. There's some quotes from a guy who was in the support band for that gig on the 19th. And there's a photo of your guy. I only bought the mag bc I wanted to see the Jimi Hendrix write-up. It's OK but they didn't give him much space so I'm fkd off about that. Otoh, I'm stoked bc the story - even though I know it inside out - is so awesome
