I'm not sure what I think about relics. I can understand it completely and yet at other times I'm a bit impatient about the whole thing. But I understand why we do it. Look at how many people will keep a piece of jewellery, say, that belonged to a beloved grandparent. Or a locket with a small lock of hair in it.Yes, it's a powerful story.
We have this holiday on September 30th, not the 17th, (it's moved two weeks later)
It is curious that in the Middle Ages this day was considered a holiday of women. In Russia, this holiday was otherwise known as the universal women's name day.
On September 30, it is customary to make pilgrimage trips to the relics of Saints Vera, Hope and Love. The main place of worship used to be the church in the small town of Echaux in the south of France, but later the relics of the martyrs were moved to the Champ de Mars in Paris.
hold on i got to go
be back

Relics are symbolic, they are like a material embodiment of something spiritual. It works very well. People often try to seal memories with things. For example, a ticket to a concert, souvenirs from traveling, a pebble from a beautiful place. (The mug that Lisbon gave to Patrick)))) is more often just a photo now, of course. But these things hold the emotions of the past and you can feel them anew by going through these things.)))I'm not sure what I think about relics. Oh, I understand all of this. It's just the religious relics thing. There are elements of all of that where I'm not completely on board. But the general thing, I'm fine with. It's a natural human impulse, I think.Relics are symbolic, they are like a material embodiment of something spiritual. It works very well. People often try to seal memories with things. I personally keep my grandmother's tea set, not to use, but as a memory, and actually a lot of other things)))))

Yeah, yeah. That's what I was trying to explain above. I didn't even know how to spell it correctly. Name days sounds good, thanks@hope - this piece reminded me that Three Sisters is one of my fave plays. I haven't seen in such a long time, though. Anyway, posting for stuff about name days.
"In modern Russia it’s quite popular to celebrate your name day, often referred to as Angel’s day (День ангела). The link to the angel comes from the saint you are named after, who is supposed to guard you like your angel until you die. We may not be as lucky as the Queen of the United Kingdom to have two birthdays, but we may be fortunate to have two special days: a birthday and a name-day."
The story of Russian name-days
In pre-Communist Russia by tradition parents named their newborn baby after a saint whose feast day it was. And you could only christen yourwww.talkrussian.com
