But judging by that i would say that ... he is like oh , well the problem ? is that he assumes his love interest was not alone.... i assume he means problem. i will consult my 1990s american slang thesaurus for you and see if i can find it. Well i am assuming 17 Days is 90s is it ?
thx, 17days was released in 1984

Prince' song "17 Days" - what did he mean with 'main drag'? Is it a slang term?

Called you yesterday
You didn't answer your phone
The main drag is knowing that
You probably weren't alone
Fuz, I've only just seen this. I'm a bit surprised you couldn't work it out from the context. 'The main drag' = 'the main problem'.

'drag' - it's a pain, it's a problem, it's irritating, boring, annoying

Here's Bob Dylan in 1965, one of my all-time fave songs. Positively 4th Street:

"I wish that for just one time you could stand inside my shoes
And just for that one moment I could be you
Yes, I wish that for just one time you could stand inside my shoes
You'd know what a drag it is to see you"

Bob Dylan sure could write a diss track in his time 🤣

Idiot wind
Blowing every time you move your mouth
Blowing down the back roads headin' south
Idiot wind
Blowing every time you move your teeth
You're an idiot, babe
It's a wonder that you still know how to breathe

Yeah, that's another good one. Idiot Wind is another fave. That last line you quoted, pure gold. 1974, he could still eviscerate someone, lol.

With Papa i wanted the end part to be a separate song. So, from 2:18 is phenomenal to me. papa is jarring to me. He is an abrupt bloke & the ending of that track is insane.. kind of like mlb to me , if i am honest with myself. i think andy wood based himself a bit on prince. i c elements.
PRN come from Minnesota [still Midwestern though] I have purchased two of his albums since yesterday.
My feelers are out.
