It's off-topic. When you write Lake District I always remember about Pride and Prejudice)))) for some reason this mention there I remembered and now such an association.He is.
"The way that Herdwick sheep look is mostly down to selective breeding over the centuries. These are practical, hardy sheep designed to cope with the Lake District landscape, and their key attributes reflect this. The white faces and horns—only in the males—are distinctive characteristics of the Herdwick’s roots from wild Northern Pin Tail breeds.
Breeding processes over the centuries have created an animal that is ideally suited to its environment. Herdwicks survive extreme winters better than any other breed because they have evolved and been selected to be tough."

omigosh, it's years since I read it. Iirc, they are supposed to go up to the Lake District but only get as far as the Peak District - which is the Midlands. I didn't watch the tv adaptation but I know they filmed the Mr Darcy sequences in the Peak District bc that's where his house was in the book.When you write Lake District I always remember about Pride and Prejudice)))) for some reason this mention there I remembered and now such an association.
@Fuzball dare me
And that's especially cool!
I don't think it's possible to be off-topic in this crazy thread, lol.
I do love this quote. I never got into his fiction bc sci-fi isn't really my thing. But this quote is awesome. I think it neatly sums up my current 'reality' quite nicely, lol.„It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.“

EDIT - Just watched a little video of PKD fans talking about his work. I have no desire to be a 'fan' of anybody but I was stoked to discover that PKD fans call themselves 'dickheads'. How perfect is that? I'm in love!!!!!!!
I used to do this all the time. Now I only do it sporadically. I love to read interviews so sometimes I jot down stuff from those.The quote came across by accident, but very timely)))
I love quotes. I had a job at one time where I had free time and read a lot. And sometimes I liked the words so much that I wrote them down. Recently found this file. It was interesting to read it 10 years later.
Priorities!!!!!I can't call myself a "dickheads" (awesome to have found this) , but I was given his book "The Man in the High Castle" in high school and loved it. I still have it to this day. I think it's a sign it's worth a re-read . As soon as I finish watching The Mentalist))))))
