The Last Person to Post in This Thread Wins

Actually, I'd rather end with something crazy! This will do.

I didn't. I'm OK with selling them (plus the almost 4,000 books I had). That is fine. But my Frank Miller DareDevil's? How could I do that, wend? What was I thinking? Seriously, wtf? Not only that, I had 4 or 5 complete runs of those issues. And they all went. I didn't even keep one lot.

It did get released later on as a graphic novel but, of course, you don't get the cover art from the individual issues so what's the freakin' point?

jeez! :(

The Frank Miller DD's is where this one comes from. The set-up for this picture (on the previous page of the comic) is the best I've ever seen in any comic anywhere, any decade, ever.

I've already posted this but I have to go again!

Back when models didn´t look like clones but had a very individual beauty. Also, I believe there was not that much plastic surgery involved back then ...

Many models were "discovered" and THEN became famous. Today, I get the impression that to be a model you have to have famous parents and then adapt your face to become a model. /END RANT 😆

Exactly so. And those supermodels in the 80's and 90's mostly weren't super skinny. Thin, yes. Slender. But not superskinny. Naomi, Cindy, Claudia - they all had bodies. Strong and shapely not stick-like.

Many models were "discovered" and THEN became famous.
Exactly. Do the work. Show your talent. Develop your skills in how you do your job. Build up your experience and your aura. Work out how to use your individual physicality. Learn how to tell a story, how to understand the clothes. Learn how not to be taken advantage of by the photographer - I don't just mean horrible stuff, I mean make sure they don't use a lens that will make you look like a freak. Or use your worst angle. That kind of thing. Then, if you become famous, it's resting on something solid.

Today, I get the impression that to be a model you have to have famous parents and then adapt your face to become a model. /END RANT 😆
god, that's depressing. But so true. :(

Mmm all these ladies were very captivating, Something so ....idk , about those years. they weren't skeletal or gaunt but they certainly weren't every day girls either. they were polished, they were grown business women ,and had sass. but they still had a youthful, kind of innocent sparkle.
WEll i guess there wasn't so much over exposure. That kills everything. You'd be lucky if you caught one of them on tv talking about their beauty secrets! I loved the Clothes Show ..Loved that programme. You'd squeal if one of them popped up. I remember getting Cindy Crawfords mmm...
....' Basic Face' make up book and thinking it was a .."Do not touch that. That's mine." situation. She/it talked about toning and shading the cheekbones .....and my fave , highlighting. ~Arched eyebrows ~ it 'connected to Michael ' and ...It was all so new!

Is it…? Could it be…?

It is! It could!

Wrap it up, folks – I’ve won!

Ooh ive got to say ...Barbie ...if im brutally honest.
Sindy wants to have a word with you. Y'know, about your lack of patriotism, good taste, discernment and your inability to spot trouble looming on the horizon. :ROFLMAO:

Sindy had the good furniture. the good hpuse , car the horse the dog.
She did indeed. Sindy is glad you noticed this. But it's not enough.

Barbie was more appealing to me
Sindy has no comment at this time. Sindy would like to remind you that this year is her 60th anniversary. September, to be exact. She would like to know what your plans are. Assuming you have any. If not, why not, says Sindy, in a slightly tetchy tone of voice.

Sindy also has this to say:

I mean, c'mon! She's almost as good as Twiggy. A fellow British icon. I think it's safe to assume that Twiggy, one of the most successful models ever, basically copied Sindy. I mean, she must have, obvs! :ROFLMAO:
