The Last DinnerWith Michael Jackson

The article is good. She said nice words about Michael but as a stylist she did not do a good job for him imo. I do not know why she made Michael wearing WOMEN’s jackets? I do not like this style at all. This article is very old and it was discussed in September 2009 or so.

yada yada yada !

She MADE Michael wear those????

How old was Michael? 10? Was Ruska his mommy? Or did she put a gun to his head and said she'd hurt him if he didn't wear her clothes? (or anyone else's for that matter)

He was an adult and it was his f*ing choice what he would wear. So quit whining about such ridiculous things, for Christ's sake. (all of those who comment on this, not you personally)

Thanks for sharing this with us. She is so lucky, just look at the way Michael is hugging her, wow so much love and so much warmth, his strong gentle arms wrapped lovingly around her. He is such a beautiful person, so pure.

She was not his mom but she gave a freaking wrong professional advice as a stylist to wear those women’s jackets.imo Usually artists trust their stylists especially if they like a person.

just cuz you, me, or anyone else here doesn't like it , doesn't mean Michael didn't. We can't act as if we knew him better than he knew himself, can we? :punk:

I don't think Michael would wear anything he didn't like or wouldn't feel comfortable in. I liked Michael's latest style, he's one of the only few men would is able to pull the look off, Michael was always a fashion icon, he broke boundaries when it came to "what men can and cannot wear". And I believe Ruska and Michaels relationship was as genuine as it can get, bless her heart.

just a little fyi - the balmain jackets are designed by Christophe Decarnin and they first introduced these jackets in september 2008. at that time Christophe Decarnin said that his inspiration for the collection was Michael Jackson - a combination of his military style, his 80's style and his love of crystals.

so actually Michael is wearing jackets that was inspired by him in the first place. and reportedly french Vogue fashion director is the one who told Michael about Balmain line inspired by him and he started to wear them afterwards. Both of these people (the designer and the fashion director) are reportedly "obsessed" with Michael Jackson and sees him like the Svengali of style.

It was obviously not wrong to Michael if he continued to wear the things she recommended, not "made" him wear. Not to mention he was quite the talk of the fashion industry since he started wearing these designers. Michael knew what he was doing, and it sounds like he valued Rushka's presence.

I love those pictures. They definitely had a connection, it's so apparent. He looks so genuinely happy with her, and look how close they are! I'm glad he had a good friend in her.

hmmm, well i kinda disagree with that comment, I think he made shoulder padded coats fashionable...if you've seen recent pics of celebrities, they've got shoulder pads...and I think he looked nice. And one of the shirts he wore with a golden design was a women's cloths...he likes to try things that ppl. NEVER do. IMHO, He's got a great style...:cheeky:

I agree... right after TII preimere... You saw a trend in the pointy shoulder pads even Janet wore them in her new video

he likes to try things that ppl. NEVER do
YES! And especially that style in TII was unique and fitting so good to Michael! When I saw this scene in "blue" singing "Human nature" I was smiling a little bit over his OFFBEAT style. That's Michael all over!
I am often wondering (sorry, don't take it like an offence) how upright MJ fans can be :cheeky:

thanks. it's great that she was such a good friend to Michael

ROMI,
I agree with you that he likes to try things that no one does. That is why I like his style. I actually liked the pointy shoulder jacket too. I do not think it was too small because it appears that this was the style of the jacket.

Thanks for a lovely article. It is good to see and be able to write about positive things. Keep on with the positive. Also, thanks for not giving articles from TMZ.

ROCKIN,
Thanks for the beautiful pictures. I especially liked the black jacket with the crystals. I tried to take a photo of it from the TII DVD.

IVY,
Thanks for the information about the designers. It is good to see that they were inspired by MJ clothes. Do you think Christophe Decarnin made the black jacket with the crystals that I am in love with?

Guys, I am so jealous of his stylist--all the hugs and visits to his house! I wish it was me.

The moment Ruska came to LA, Michael would call her and sometimes he himself would pick her up at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

“The window of the limo would go down and Michael – guarded by six bodyguards in there – would wave at me and call me over. We loved and respected eachother.

I really loved that part. Michael was indeed a good friend to have and of course he could just have sat in his house waiting for her to show up at his place, but as a real friend he came to pick her up. He didnt want the bodyguards there. He just wanted to pick up his best friend and show her how much he loves her. I would have loved for Michael to have a life where he could just travel everywhere and visit everybody like we ordinary people do. And its also so good to see that he had real friends who appreciated his inner heart and personality, and not just his talent. I wish Michael was my friend when i grew up. As a friend i wouldnt care about his talent as much as his heart because true friends picks each other up at hotels face-to-face and shows you have much they love you. Thats what friends do. My ideal is his heart and i try every day to be like him, godlike in my behaviour. Its indeed hard but its something to struggle towards :D

Yup, saw that some time ago, can't remember if it was here or a different forum. Thanks though.
And Rushka has said that Mike always loved her clothes and she would give them to him, which is why they were too small. I think he should have gotten a bigger size too but ya'll know Mike, when he has to have something he won't take no for an answer :)

A very beautiful article, thank you!
Every time I read something like this it brings tears to my eyes, I mean every single time, still
What a loss we had :(

I loved the clothes MJ was rocking in 2009. He looked so sharp and unique.

i think i posted on here before, but i'm struck to notice...

what? no comment saying that he seemed like he was 'on something'?

goes to show you. MJ was right. she was a true friend to him. it proves that if a person wants to see something negative, they will, even if it's not true. and it makes you wonder what's in a person that would want to see something negative in Michael.

she saw positive, and i'm sure, she wasn't being a 'yes' person to him. considering her views on money, i truly believe that.

but as for Forbes Magazine....huh....they saw him as nearly bankrupt, when he wasn't doing what they want, but when it seemed he would tour(as they and the media really wanted, while being disguised, as trying to convince people that they were not desperate to see him tour)suddenly they figure that he could earn 2.5 billion..
so they saw him as broke and a cash cow at the same time? it just depended on whether they thought they could get him to do what they want or not. they're pathetic.

I posted this a few days ago but thread is no where to be found so I'll post it again:

2009 - Michael Jackson and his stylist Ruska Bergman- Ruska on Michael:
Michael Jackson was never selfish, he shared his love with the whole world, but that he’s the King of Pop – no one truly admitted that till he died. Michael wasn’t a freak, even though so many ugly things and lies were written about him. People simply didn’t understand him just like they didn’t understand Beethoven and Mozart but time has proven that they were musical geniuses as well. Jackson was an amazing artist. He lived in his own world with his music. I’m happy/lucky because I got to be his friend and that he chose me out of all people to be his stylist – says Ruska Bergman, the personal stylist of the late pop icon.

She’s only worked for a few years in New York but she’s already worked with Hilary Clinton, Bjork, Cindy Crawford , Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow and many other stars. She’s convinced that Michael Jackson was the most noble and sophisticated person that she worked with.

“I work for the Italian ‘L’Uomo Vogue’, I styled lots of directors, athletes, actors and when we had to pick out a music icon for our photoshoot, I suggested Michael Jackson, so I sent him a letter. I was at the theatre when after three weeks I got a phonecall from his lawyer who said he was calling on behalf of Michael Jackson.” – I was completely caught off guard. I got scared that I did something wrong in the way I contacted him …so I started apologizing. When the lawyer told me that Michael agreed to do the photoshoot, I asked him to repeat that sentence again before I pass out …I called the editor of the magazine right away and told her that Michael Jackson agreed to do the photoshoot.”

According to Ruska, the preparations for this photoshoot were the most intense preparations on the planet.

“I got thousands of girls assisting us but by the end of it we decided on six. Completely impressed with what he saw, Michael simply shouted, “Girls, you are divine!” – but in order for Ruska to hear that sentence she worked very hard for five months.

Even though he was a megastar, Michael never acted like one on the set. He was very professional, he knew that he was working with the best stylists, make-up artists and photographers and he never saw their work as something beneath him.

There were hundreds of people on set. We played his Thriller album, he immediately stood in front of the camera and started dancing and a few moments later everyone was in tears. He had so much energy that I then, and many times later, thought that he must be from a different planet.

Michael Jackson thought the same about Ruska though. He was amazed how much love she put into her work . Because of similar sensibilities, they continued to work together and their professional association quickly turned into friendship. He loved her character and honesty. He appreciated the fact that she was always honest about what she could and couldn’t do as far as her work goes.

The change in Jackson’s style over the last couple of years was very noticeable and noticed by the world media…on the internet blogs, everyone was asking who was behind the new look of this 20th century pop icon; His secret weapon was of course RUSKA BERGMAN!

“He trusted my taste a lot and he used to always tell me to never stop because I’m the most interesting person he’s ever met! When we became friends, he told me when I first showed up on his door in Vegas he could smell the Mediterranean sea on me”

Ruska and Michael were working intensely with one another over the last two years. They saw eachother often and stayed in touch regularly.

“My phone rang on New Years. I picked up the phone and heard someone singing opera. I was completely baffled. I asked who it was and Michael responded, “Who do you think it is?” – He was very shy and I can’t even describe how gentle he was. But his talent, voice, music and charisma can’t be surpassed.”

From the first time they met, Ruska was convinced he was a genius. After that meeting in Vegas, her whole world changed. She walked down the street and suddenly compared to Michael, all the people seemed so ordinary.

“The more I watched him, the more I loved him'', He was simply magic. He was the most noble person in the world. No man on Earth can compare to his inner and outer beauty. I met so many stars, talked to them, worked with them, but no one was even close to Michael’s charisma. He was simply always ahead of everyone else and I can’t believe that my dear friend died :( How can I believe it when we actively worked so much together lately? I was getting the styling ideas ready for the tour, which unfortunately he will never get to do now – and it would’ve been a true spectacle.

According to Forbes magazine, Jackson would’ve earned 2.5 billion dollars from that tour, But he wasn’t too concerned about that. He had over 30 people who took care of everything and he had eleven lawyers, he lived in complete isolation but he was able to see who his true friends are. The moment Ruska came to LA, Michael would call her and sometimes he himself would pick her up at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

“The window of the limo would go down and Michael – guarded by six bodyguards in there – would wave at me and call me over. We loved and respected eachother. He loved everything that I wore, and he always wanted to wear it. He always asked me where I was hiding so long. A man like that will never come by again, but I’m convinced that his music will live for hundreds of years. Everyone copies him, but only when Michael himself showed up would people actually faint.”

The woman who works in the biggest fashion house and gives advice to Tom Ford, Givenchy and many others, she fascinated the King of Pop when it came to how humble she was and her general view when it came to money.

When we had dinner just a month ago, Michael asked me, “Do you know why I love working with you? You never asked me for money. And we never talked about some agreements. You trusted me as I trusted you. I changed six managers in two years. You’re the only person who stuck with me. Everyone else came and went, and you, my dear, will be with me forever.''

The last time she saw him was two weeks before his death. She was at his house five days in a row.

“He was truly beautiful. He didn’t seem depressed or sad at all. He even danced a bit. Didn’t seem to have a care in the world. As always, he was the gentlest person on the planet. It seemed almost as if he was ‘ours’ . I never felt that about anyone aside from ~Steven Spielberg. But Michael was so unusual, his warmth and love completely got me. Everything was just fine. I can’t believe that he’s gone all of a sudden.”

She heard the news about his death while she was in the studio. The moment she heard it she thought she would fall off the chair. The only thing she could possibly say was that it was simply impossible, it can’t be. She couldn’t stop crying for days. All the material and the photographs and data that she has, she’s keeping for the movie, This is It, that’s coming out.

“I know I was very privileged because I had the chance to be so close to him, to see him as a real person. We perfectly understood eachother. I feel sad that the media was so unfair and cruel to him. He didn’t have cancer, his nose wasn’t falling off, all those things are just fabrications, stupidities and lies. The pop icon is among angels right now, but his music will live forever.”
