Michael understood magnitude and madness behind the name Michael Jackson ,though that family is in music bizz ,frankly they are not that famous,so they don't understand craziness that followed Michael or should i say they loved that spotlight ,still normal people don't follow whole family ,that don't know about their children or grandchildren.they don't understand magnitude of situation right now that is why they are busy selling them.
This is exactly why I do not understand why many of Michael's fans seem to have more respect for his wishes than his own family does. Their obliviousness to his motives just seems absurd. How could Katherine have been (supposedly) so close to Michael and not understand this from him??? And with all due respect .... if the kids are the ones making their own decisions about how they feel about all this exposure, then when did Mrs. J stop being a mother?? And these children were allowed to make these decisions about their lives with clearly no prior 'direct' exposure to the experience of just how bad it could get for them. they had been guarded from any social networking up to that point therefore, likely clueless. And it all may be fun NOW .... we see Prince networking all the time, but what is this also opening the door to, that we see NOW.
I know we cannot change what is happening but we can refuse to support it. The media tried to attach so many stigmas to Michael, and will attempt to do the same to his kids. He knew that was so probable, and he knew how painful and confusing that would be for them. In an attempt to appear so pro-Jackson, why would Robin Roberts make such issue that they were just "normal kids" on GMA?? Why would that be necessary if there was no pre-conceived notion that they probably weren't if they were MJs kids, which she might be the "noble" one and attempt to counter? (beware of wolves in sheeps clothing)
Katherine, herself, said that Michael would describe that he sometimes felt like a "caged animal". Doesn't she understand what that means??? And doesn't she see that if these kids cannot even stop at Starbucks on their way home from school without cameras in their faces, and the world wanting to know what is in their cups, then they too are becoming caged animals?? There is a potential for very serious emotional rebellion to rise up in these children, in years to come, if something isn't done to stop this. The media knew how they could drive Michael, leaving him helpless to counter, and they will do it to these kids, too. Just think about it .... if they can drive the kids into Lindsey Lohan behavior, then they get several months, or even years of good juicy stories. Meanwhile, the child is crumbling inside and Michael's legacy as a "good father" giving these children a good foundation, can be destroyed. (perhaps blaming that Michael's 'wierdness' coupled with his drug-induced death, is the reason these children are behaving so mal-adjusted) I HATE saying these things in an effort to make a point BUT the press can, and likely will try to do these things to them, with the first sign of any social rebellion from any of them, now.
And we cannot totally compare this to Michael's experience as a child because although he was the frontman for the J5, and arguably the most talented, his Megastardom status did not really catch on until he was well into his 20s, and nor did he have to deal with the internet and photoshop programs in the hands of laymen, while dealing with his own personal develpment in his early years. I am 50 y/o. I remember when there was a 'code of ethics' the media usually followed better. There was an accountability better maintained back then. Regardless that he had always had cameras in his face since a young boy, it was a whole different world back in the 60s, 70s and even the 80s. Hell, I was one of the first few thousand people on AOL in the early to mid-90s (even before Yahoo). Place what it was like, back then, against what these kids have to deal with now with so much social networking available now and pictures of EVERYTHING floating around. It it won't ever again be just the PRESS doing these things when there are no professional literary editors controlling anything put in front of us anymore as, now, anyone can take a pic, photoshop it, post it on a network, and claim anything they want to about it, with no accountability for the truth anymore. It's a "free-for-all" out here that could be so very destructive to them and is already beginning. Jes' sayin.
