Well, I don't think he "came up with" the idea? Maybe it's a part of his human nature showing mixed with the power of music:) You know many hiphop artists do it, right? Also, many men walk around or sit grabbing their crotch but just don't do it in public and the way MJ do. He does it um...as a form of.....ahem..artistic expression-_-.... Somebody would call me crazy esp. if they are not MJ fans!
 
helena22, that's exactly what Michael says... That it just happens because of the music, because of the effect music has on him...

But I still think that he must have thought something the first time he did it. Maybe "Oh,that's sexy... the ladies will like it! I think I'll do it more often..." Lol! :hysterical:

I also see it as an artistic expression for him. The way MJ does it looks natural and it just flows well into his dance moves. When justina timberslake does it, it looks disgusting and when usher does it, it looks utterly stupid. (no offense to usher, it just is) because they simply do it to show off as it's a cool thing to do now.
For MJ, he does it because he is feeling the music.
