I think the guy is quite boring and irritating - stop waving your hands around, fgs!

I haven't watched the whole thing. He's too boring. I watched the Exile On Main Street bit twice bc I couldn't understand what he was saying. He seems to start off as if he thinks the album is indeed overrated but then declares that it isn't.

Middle-aged guy fancies himself as a rock critic but doesn't have what it takes. That's how it came across to me. As for the albums he's looking at, I haven't listened to all of them or not all the way through. I do think the Springsteen album and F.Mac are overrated although - did he explain what he meant? Overrated bc they are a bit crap or overrated bc they are not as influential as people claim? It was all too vague.

I haven't listened to every song on Pet Sounds or Sgt. Pepper. I only know that endless numbers of musicians rate both of them as having been very important. So maybe it's just a generational thing. An album can be very important in its era but isn't necessarily going to be loved by later generations.

I was more curious about what you think of the album selection, who cares about the old geezer commenting on it lol

I listened to all these albums at one point but I only really rate Born to Run lol

My only conclusion is that the most popular albums in history are also really loathed by many lol

I got that but he was SO boring he completely did my head in!

It's a godawful boring selection, imo, but I'd still need to know exactly what he's trying to do with this. Otherwise who gives a fk about his crappy selection? It's meaningless. I don't like any of these albums. Haven't listened to any of them in their entirety so I'm not qualified to pass judgement.

Well, I ain't listening to The Wall. I heard most of it on the radio back in the day. Boring. I never listened to Nirvana. I love Teen Spirit and that's it. So I have no idea if that album is as good as its meant to be bc I didn't bother with it. I was never convinced that grunge was as influential as people made it out to be but perhaps I just wasn't paying attention. I was pretty detached from rock music by then. Oasis are definitely overrated but, again, that's just my subjective bias bc I can't stand them.

Bruce - don't like his voice, don't like his guitar playing, don't like his sound. Sorry! He just doesn't do it for me. I like his attitude to his career and his band mates. He seems OK and he does a good interview. But his music never moves me.

My only conclusion is that the most popular albums in history are also really loathed by many lol
I think that's always the case, though, isn't it? Dylan is madly influential but loads of people can't stand him - mainly bc of his voice - so I think even an album or an artist that is really important will never have universal approval.
