lol..well..again, ur talking MJ's family under undue stress..or. MJ vs. a number of media equal to the number of cockroaches, metaphorically. MJ's family can't compete..and neither can MJ himself, against the number of media out there. as i said..there's never been a star of MJ's magnitude. it's fair to say that this is unprecedented, and hard, humanly, to deal with. especially over these number of years, with the escalation of MJ's fame..and the envy that is out there, among massive media. the reality is..one man(you know who) can tell a lie, and it can spread like a virus in this environment, that i described in my previous post, that you just answered. why should his family have to deal with it? his parents?(up in age and maybe too weak for all that stress) how much are they supposed to take? and MJ, by himself? against such a big virus? lol...it's hard, to say the least. we, as fans, might simply have to weather some storms. looking for the ideal solution, may not be that easy. and..of course..there is the issue of confidentiality. No media should be allowed to be in the position to manipulate MJ into divulging all his privacy to the world. we all have laws to protect our confidentiality.

You bring up an interesting point here, that of confidentiality. The medical profession is bound by laws of patient confidentiality and because of that, I doubt that the "tabloid source" has any genuine knowledge about anything related to Michael's health.

Some folks here are suffering stress based on rumors. There is no published and genuine information out there. So wish Michael well, pray for him, send positive energy, because that is all to the good.

And furthermore, for those of you who were not here during the trial. . . I offer as an example the "X-traJet" fiasco. Some may remember that Fox news had a story that Michael freaked out on the plane from Las Vegas to Santa Barbara, when he was going to turn himself in to authorities. They said he freaked out, totally. This story jumped species from the tabloid Fox news to CNN, and was all over the place. Remember? Along with this (so bizarre, really) someone had hidden video cameras on the plane hoping to tape Michael and sell the tapes. The tapes were found, and reviewed by authorities. The tapes showed Michael talking to his attorney. They showed him eating an apple. The story was totally false.

My point is, there is no real news out there. It all comes from ONE tabloid source, and no matter how many times it is repeated, that doesn't make it true. Therefore, try to be calm and not react to these stories. IF there is genuine news, then that will be out there and we can respond appropriately. But there IS no genuine news about Michael's health, so please just be calm and take care of yourselves?

I've just seen a report bout "mike close to death" on ninemsn

It just upsetting me that these media ppl r putting this sort of crap
and not caring how it makes us fans & his family and friends feel :(
 
Well if this story gets too out of hand I am sure Michael will eventually address it. So that much we can hope for. God bless all.

Yeah, exactly Michael's sentiments, aka, "They Don't Care About Us."

The media doesn't care. Nor does the govt., really. They don't care how "mere fans" and friends and family feel about a person. They'll abuse their current freedom of speech because they feel they have the right to abuse it. They feel they can do whatever they want. I heard some paparazzi say in a vid, "we're paparazzi, we can do whatever the **** we want" when they were asked to kindly stop. To me that was outrageous. Because not only do they go too, too far, they KNOW they do. They are AWARE of it. It's sick. And they make it sensationalism -basically a new form of entertainment. What's more, when "official" news sources, such as Fox, CNN, MSNBC, Associated Press, etc., bring out a story about Michael, or anything for that matter, it is very often originally obtained from a tabloid source, therefore making the "official" news sources not credible. So, who do we believe? WHAT do we believe? Who are the liars in the world, and who are the truthtellers? How do we discern the difference? All I can say is, PRAY for the gift of discernment. Otherwise, we are completely lost and confused.

And continue to pray for Michael, too. He doesn't need any more stress than he has in his life. His focus should be on his faith, his family, his health, his goodwill, and his music, in that order. He is often oblivious to what the media say about him because he knows it's more or less all lies, anyway. No reason for him to pay much attention to it. Nor should we. He tells us not to read the tabloids, yet we read them (i.e.TMZ, the Sun, etc.). Just avoid them. The only tabloid news I ever get is from this forum, and it is surprisingly rampant. I avoid it when I can, but often it is unavoidable because some picture is attached or something and you never know before you open the thread whether it's an official pic or a invasion of privacy pic. More often than not, it is the latter, quite unfortunately. :(

that's the worst part, nobody in the tabloid world seems to care if and how they are hurting people in the process of what they are doing :no:
and it sux, cause I would think maybe some compassion would kick in, or "putting yourself in someone else's shoes" ....

But that's the media as we know it!!!!

I just hope that MJ and his family are always aware of the truth, and that they are happy and safe :yes:

i'm glad u don't listen to all media, cus u ain't seen nothin compared to what they've been already doing. there is a talk show that loves to be gruesome, here in los angeles. and one of the things they like to do, is 'the death pool', where they predict what celebrity will die the following year. somebody always calls in and predicts Michael Jackson. so this evil is old hat with the media. and some wonder why i hate them so much, and i wonder why they defend the media so much. this is nothing new. they've done this with Micahel for way more than a decade. so..while there are small lights in a media of darkness, i hope now, more people understand where we big time media haters come from. we just have to practice seperating them from the truth, and wait till MJ speaks himself about whatever he chooses to speak about. i've never known a celebrity to misguide his or her fans, no matter how callous or kind that celebrity is. i mean, Ringo Starr wasn't afraid to announce that he didn't want autographs from his fans, anymore. he didn't leave that to the press to announce. and his fans appreciated that. this is not to say that Ringo is callous. this is to say, we just have to count on our fav celeb to speak what is important, when the celeb feels it is time. we just have to trust that this is the best way to go, no matter how long we have to wait for info on anything. i remember a celebrity who really was dying, and announced it, himself. so..we really have to seperate the media from oruselves and believe our fav celebs. and, we have to accept that the media has no bounds. that money is its only objective. and if we need a reminder..remember Princess Diana. the media has gotten out of hand, long ago.

Im sure they'd be mad too. But they think its ok to spread bullshit lies about celebs..But if it were rumors spread about them, they would be pissed the hell off!! I guess they just LOVE spreading lies. And they'd do anything for money!! what a SHAME!

i'm sure they've been asked that question, before. and u see how it has affected them. it hasn't affected them at all. now u can understand the Justin TImberlakes of the world, that don't mind cold cocking media members.

Hon, they are making money everytime we read their stuff. They get exposure and make more money. The worse the article the more people wanna read it. Don't let it get you down.

We can't control what is printed but we certainly don't have to buy into it. Keep the faith :yes:

yes there is. they had fun predicting the divorce of MJ and Lisa Marie..and then they escalated to the death pool.

i would name the show, but i don't want to give him any more ratings. i was curious at first, but i don't listen to the show, anymore, after hearing that death pool thing.

I mean im gonna be honset i've never really liked lisa marie, but i never made jokes that they would divorce ir anything like that. That is just childish.

Absolutely! There is NOTHING out there but rumors and tabloids. It is always a good thing to be in a positive frame of mind, and take good care of yourselves.
