Square One - Documentary about the '93 allegations

I was talking about the special. After the clip of Taj explaining the photoshoot, there's some text that appears on screen that says "Jim Clemente has since responded to Taj's comments" and then there's a screencap of the Tweet I mentioned. It probably adds about 30 seconds more to the movie, which isn't much, but it's definitely a new addition.

As for the rest of the new footage, I really can't recall. I or someone would have to do a side-by-side comparison.

OK. Understand. we need someone for a comparison.

I reckon some of these people were pro-MJ (sorry for the lack of better expression) to begin with, and therefore more familiar with the background of the cases, but it's still great to see. What makes these tweets even more sweet is that these people are speaking their own mind instead of being paid to promote a "product".

That's true, but we shouldn't forget that it would have been the media's job to present that information to the public, but they withheld it instead to sell a false narrative. As MJ fans, we did search for these facts, but only because professionals refused to do it. It's only normal that the general public won't start investigating a case they're only mildly interested in, but at least they are willing to listen if the information reaches them (as we can see with Square One on Amazon).

Yeah im sure the gen public are open to the facts. Its just the media have had a agenda of hiding them for 25 plus years as they dont want the public to hear the otherside. And most of the public dont care enough either way to start researching. But if the info is put out there in a doc then there is intrest. ( one of the medias lies for why they never told the otherside was a lack of intrest by the public) which is false going by how well the doc is doing

Not only a lie, it's a betrayal of the journalistic profession. They should report the facts, not what they assume the public wants to hear.

I really feel sorry for that person on Twitter right now. He/she gets a taste of their own medicine now, being called apologist and everything. But yet another one has just changed their mind, after watching Square One inspired by the debate. :)

BTW I don't think it's such a clever idea for haters to bully those who changed their minds. They reveal themselves too much.

They also desperately try to convince anyone who watched Square One to watch LN as well, which isn't a good idea for them either at this point. If someone starts watching LN already knowing some background information, it's unlikely they will fell for its emotional manipulation. On the contrary, I think it would be quite counterproductive, and apart from seeing through R&S, they might even question the purpose of unnecessary graphic details in the production.

Exactly. This is why they try to keep people under all circumstances from watching Square One. They literally claim it’s “full of lies” without being able to point out a single one. :D

Ok so I'm going to ask another dumb question. Why is it called "square one"? What does it mean?

To go “back to square one” means to go back to the beginning. Think of a board game. :)

1993 is the beginning of the allegations, thus “Square One”.

Ok so I'm going to ask another dumb question. Why is it called "square one"? What does it mean?

It's not a dumb question, it's a good one, as I think the title is brilliant. It means something like a starting point (in MJ's case it's the first allegation, where one should go back to get the full picture).

The thing with the MJ allegations is that there are more of them, which in itself makes the possibility of his guilt more believable for the general public. Even if the 03/05 and R&S cases can be proved relatively easily as unfounded to them, there's the shadow of the first accusation, which has the most myths and less known facts about it (ironically).

So instead of trying to discredit all cases (and exhaust your audience halfway through with a galore of dry facts), Square One focuses only on the first one. Which is a brilliant tactic, because if it makes it clear that the first case was a scam, then it means MJ is innocent, and if MJ is innocent, the newer allegations aren't credible either.

I've said multiple times now that random fan opinion tweets do not count as interesting content. Stop posting them in threads please.

So now we can't post random people or non fans how they feel about square one anymore? we all was doing it before and there was no trouble with it. in my opinion there was nothing wrong with it and i thought it great news. but hey. if we can't post anything about it anymore then i guess there's no point anymore.

FTR, I like seeing posts about people’s reaction to Square One.

I do, too. You can just hop over to Twitter and search for Square One. There are plenty of them. :)

I think, the point is that we don’t need to have all those tweets here if they don’t offer any new insights beyond the reaction of that person.

The rules about tweets apply across the board.

We all was doing it before why we have to stop now? everytime i do something on this site it's always a issue and really starting to get annoying. i don't do nothing on this site beside being to myself and talk my two cent every now and then. it's really starting get frustrating.

Because we have established rules for tweets. If you kept posting them after I told you not to, several times, that isn't my fault.

If you don't want to be given notices so often then follow forum policy and listen when you are told something. If your mental issues prevent you from taking in information the first time, then you have to accept that staff will keep telling you until it sinks in.

Back on topic please.

Those kind of tweets are what Anna and ScreenOrigami were talking about. :)

They are nice to read, but they are not really important. It's like me saying "yay, I like Square One". :)
There are tons of those type of feedback comments out there. It's not really necessary to share them on here.

Comments / tweets are only relevant to share if it's actual news about the project. Or if it's by people directly involved in the project or some celebrities comment on it. Those are good to share of course. But otherwise it's just random fan talk.

These kind of posts are the only tangible thing I have to know square one is doing its job. I'm not on any social media and so far no national newspaper/magazine where I live has commented on it. If not for this site I wouldn't know there is an entire dedicated force working on defending MJ and they are winning.
What I want to say is I love these posts...

Well, why don’t you just sign up for Twitter? It’s free. :)
