The responsibility of promoting a film for an Oscar nom mainly lies with the studio. So it is not any shortcoming on Spike Lee's part or inadequacy of the doc, which IMO was great going by just half of the full length film. Sad to hear it's not nominated, but the Oscars haven't been about merit for a long time.

I knew the BBC's decision to show it on BBC2 would produce low viewing figures but this is lower than I expected.
The Rolling Stones documentary attracted 900,000 viewers on BBC2, although to be fair they did have the advantage of major advertising across the BBC network, plus 'The One Show' special, plus 'Stones Night' on BBC2. I guess, if I take into account the fact the BAD25 didn't have any of that promo it's not so bad. (I still wish they showed it on BBC 1!)

I think it's pretty good, the rollings stones are all over the news because of their (overpriced) shows at the o2 and they're british, and their prog the week before only got 4% of the audience, and i don't believe the bbc did any mj promotion whatsoever. I'm determined to see it as positive!

I'm surprised at those viewer ratings, seeing as both "Michael Jackson" and "Bad25" were trending on twitter. Flawless (the dance group) performed a Michael Jackson medley on Strictly Come Dancing but there was no mention of the documentary being on-I was amazed it wasn't mentioned, that's their biggest audience of the week. I was on the look out for any advertising in the week running up to it, but nothing.

When it comes to ratings I think the documentary did just fine. Hardly any promotion and Michael is gone and yet he can get close to to the same numbers as the people who are still living and it gets promoted.

Yeah i agree. it gets vertually the same viewing figures as the r.s documentry that was promoted non stop with concerts from the band, tv adverts and segments on tv shows. in all the hours i spend watching bbc news channel i saw no adverts yet i saw dozens advertising the r.s show.

Just finished watching the FULL doc..

It was incredible..

Didn't want it to end..

Seeing the full thing after seeing the US/ABC version made me feel like the American people got ripped off....

Ill be watching the full doc on Xmas with my entire family!

lol, good question...

hmmm...Well, considering I haven't seen the full version of the documentary, I guess the DVD was more exciting...I mean, it's MJ live!

However, there were so many little things in the documentary that I had never seen before, so it was exciting to see never before seen footage....

We'll see what happens when I finally get to see the full version doc :D ;)

So was this shot from the rehearsals (i think he had the same white shirt on from an earlier clip in the film from the rehearsals), or FILM (moonwalker film takes).

No they are not being slow, just being wise. They are not alllowed to post certain copyright material.
It will place their channel or websites in danger of being suspened.

Members please don't place any torrents or DL links to this material on the board. It puts MJJC in jeopardy of being cited. You are also putting you own account here in jeopardy if you do that. You can post any Youtube or streamed videos in 2000 Watts multimedia forum. But no DL links allowed. Plus any allowed DL links should only be posted in multimedia.

Please read the rules and if you cant find answers there, start a thread in Help and Information forum

Boy how I cried and cried unexpectedly at the end when Greg said those words to Michael and blew him a kiss..ugh ugh! I love that band so much, really..I can see why Michael gave them the gig..:wub: lol it was so funny though, when Greg told that story on how Mike wanted him to come along on tour but didn't manage to tell him, the thing he did with his hand like :smack: :toofunny:

Like there is a need to even think about whether to go with Mike or not:)

You could see they've been friends for long time and they still get on well:) Little bit friendly teasing here and there, but they respect each other.

The interview was a bit annoying for cutting off in the middle of the sentence, I want to see the whole interview:-(

They flew to L.A. and it wasn't on any DVD.
And yes, it looked like they cut n pasted lines from the full interview. Horribly placed together.

Sorry, somehow I read they flew to London, but reading it again, she doesn't say London:blush:

I wonder where is the whole interview?
Spike could've added their interview as bonus to his documentary, although it was about the album, not the tour.

Just amazing. I loved every second. Even Joe Pytka's scary halloween mask face.

I can't believe there was so much unseen footage. The clips singing in the studio with Stevie & Siedah were fantastic.

I also loved how they weren't too sycophantic or seeing it through rose coloured glasses, admitting 'Just Good Friends' could have been much better for example.

Finishing on the full live performance of MITM was a master stroke and shows it was made by a true fan; knowing that you can talk all you like about Michael but in the end it comes down to the music.

I also respected the fact that it was possibly the only MJ program I have seen since 1990 that didn't mention skin colour, surgery or allegations. It was a documentary on Bad & stuck to that religiously.

Having been an MJ fan for over 30 years I thought I knew everything & had seen everything, but this proved me wrong.

I wish he was still here obviously but between this and Bad 25 and most of all the Wembley Show in full, this has been a great year for MJ fans.

They are showing the Bad 25 doc tomorrow in Finland. Sadly it is the short version. I want to see the full version :(
