yep the artist Peebles was there manager and discovered them and also had the rights to there name. Peebles brought them to her then Husband's Laface records(the same LA Reid who deals with Rihanna&and quite a few acts who have worked with LA Reid done started off Broke. Toni Braxton filed it after her 2nd album as well)

anyway TLC signed a deal for 70 thousand dollars and there crazysexcool album went diamond. 10 million sold and they didn't see any real loot until some years later. you gotta know the business because if you don't then you may as well be playing for free.
 
I'm not surprised she's BROKE.

She doesn't write, she doesn't produce, she doesn't compose, I mean...nothing!

All of her money goes to the people that make her hits for her, and towards making her as "popular" as she is right now. They have to be paid first. Songwriting/production is where the money is at in the music business.

Now, sadly, Rihanna has had to resort to cover girl contracts to make money, re-releasing her album, and advertising on circuit city commercials.

Very true. This article isn't sourced from anywhere- it's just appeared on blogs and forums. There isn't a reliable source to it, so it appears as if it's urban legend until proven otherwise. :)

Sadly? umm thts an honor 2have sum1 ask u to advertise their product u act like she flipping burgers @ BK cuz if covergirl or circuit city came 2 u with a2mill dollar deal it wudnt be sad then now would it

But where do the links go back to? Coz all I could find was more blogs and forums- no page six or whatever the original source was meant to be... :unsure: It's really strange we can't trace it back to the original source :unsure:
