Thats impossible to be the first time, even his nose doesn´t look like it did on the motown 25, his hair is different also. Nothing negative here but that cant be the first pictures.

Are you sure it's from the early 80's? It just looks later in like '85 or '86? I could be wrong though. Thanks again for sharing this with us....God, what a precious gift we've all lost.

Well, it's the Sun that's claiming he's practising the moonwalk for the first time, lol they have an interview with his surgeon again.
 
Those photos look more like from late 1985/early 1986 to me, but I could be wrong.

Clearly post-victory, pre-bad material...

His face looks clearly after the victory tour period but show similarities to captain EO, except te haircut which could be possible around the EO days :)

sweet pics. It looks to be the right time period, is it just the hair hat gives you guys pause?
 
his skin complexion is darker than the bad era, also his nose is prebad era as well.
