It's worth noting that Butterflies wasn't officially released as a single and made the charts by people really liking the song, I guess. It was released as a promotional single to radio only, so number 14 on the pop charts is pretty good in retrospect.
 
I'd love to see Michael sing on some of R. Kelly's tunes like:

I Wish
Gotham City
Your Body's Calling
Ignition Remix (We all know he likes that song :)
Heaven I Need a Hug
When I Think About You
A Womans Threat

EDIT: Haha, imagine Michael singing "Sex in the kitchen" or "Kicking it with your girlfriend" - That would've been something! :D

But other than that I'm kind of sad that he didn't keep the song "You Don't Have To Call" that in the end went to Usher. Man just imagine Michael on the bridge going "Gonna boogie tonight // Cause I'm honestly too young of a guy // To stay home waiting for love // So tonight I'm gonna do what a single men should, and that's paaaartyyyyy"

There's very little today that's actually released as a physical single like a 45, except maybe a few songs released as dance remix singles for clubs. Today's chart is based on airplay only, not sales like in the past. So there's not really much of a difference.

And what really angers me is that despite the tape that clearly shows him doing those things, and the interview, his fans continue to support him. If proof was that obvious about Michael, I would no longer be a fan.

it was nice when it happened..but i like that MJ never traverses the same territory twice. also...since the media loves to find relative ways to justify a thousand ways to number 1, from sunday, for anyone that they do like..it's fair to say that MJ has reached number 1 in the 00's via his catalogue. he has won so many awards and hit number 1 in so many ways, that if he never did it again, he'd still be the best, no matter what the media says. yes..using the media's logic...if Kanye hits number 1, that means MJ hit number 1, cus Kanye is part of the atv catalogue. Rhianna hit number 1 several times...she is atv...one of those times includes a sample of wbss. that happened, last year.
 
^^ So would I. That's why Dangerous was so awesome! he wrote most of those songs on his own. And it showed.

I don't really think Michael & R. Kelly working on an entire album together is a good idea. They've both been accused of the same type of heinous crime and it would not be a good idea to work together. True that R. Kelly is talented and as far as music goes, he's good at what he does so I guess it would be cool if they did one or two songs together, but a whole album? Nah, too much bad publicity would come out of that.

Anyway, I'd prefer MJ to work by himself.
 
there will truly be a day of reckoning for those that set up Michael under that dark cloud, even though he was acquitted. it's just a universal pendulum swinging the other way, law, if there is a God. and there is.
