South Korea ~ Green Growth

South Korea is channelling 2% of its GDP into its Green Growth Plan - a vision of a more environmentally friendly economy.

The Asian powerhouse has based its success on traditional industries, but a vast range of green policies - from waste-management to air-quality and renewable energy - has given rise to new sustainable industries.

South Korea's Enthusiasm for Recycling

The green movement has taken off in South Korea but sometimes working out what and how to recycle can be a little daunting for a new arrival like me, settling in for a two-year stint as the BBC's reporter here.
Mr Bu sits in a shed at the entrance to my building.
He is not really a caretaker, nor really a security guard. In fact, I have never got around to asking him exactly what his job entails.
To be honest, I am a little nervous of him. Mr Bu is not renowned for his social skills.
But whatever his exact job title, much of his time seems to revolve around monitoring the apartment block recycling bins.
Recycling is something Mr Bu takes very seriously.
From the little window of his shed, he gets a decent view of everyone visiting the big rubber bins outside the front gate.
There are four of them. Each is for a different kind of rubbish.

BBC World News: Lucy Williamson reports.

South Korea moving towards Vertical Farming

Scientists in South Korea are developing a farming system that could allow food to be grown in any climate, a project that becomes increasingly pressing as the world's population reaches new heights.

The scientists practice vertical farming: the mass cultivation of plant and animal life in skyscrapers.

This cultivation system could help reduce overall CO2 levels in the atmosphere by recycling emissions from nearby industries.

Artificially controlling the variables of the environment such as temperatures, humidity and CO2 emissions could also provide optimal environments for plants in a variety of settings.

Heat, wind, fire, wind, drought, floods: US summer is 'what global warming looks like'
By Seth Borenstein, The Associated Press | The Canadian Press – Tue, 3 Jul, 2012

In this photo taken Tuesday, July 2, 2012, a power pole is bent after severe storms

WASHINGTON - Is it just freakish weather or something more? Climate scientists suggest that if you want a glimpse of some of the worst of global warming, take a look at U.S. weather in recent weeks.
Horrendous wildfires. Oppressive heat waves. Devastating droughts. Flooding from giant deluges. And a powerful freak wind storm called a derecho.
These are the kinds of extremes climate scientists have predicted will come with climate change, although it's far too early to say that is the cause. Nor will they say global warming is the reason 3,215 daily high temperature records were set in the month of June.
Scientifically linking individual weather events to climate change takes intensive study, complicated mathematics, computer models and lots of time. Sometimes it isn't caused by global warming. Weather is always variable; freak things happen.
And this weather has been local. Europe, Asia and Africa aren't having similar disasters now, although they've had their own extreme events in recent years.
But since at least 1988, climate scientists have warned that climate change would bring, in general, increased heat waves, more droughts, more sudden downpours, more widespread wildfires and worsening storms. In the United States, those extremes are happening here and now.
So far this year, more than 2.1 million acres (850,000 hectares) have burned in wildfires, more than 113 million people in the U.S. were in areas under extreme heat advisories last Friday, two-thirds of the country is experiencing drought, and earlier in June, deluges flooded Minnesota and Florida.
"This is what global warming looks like at the regional or personal level," said Jonathan Overpeck, professor of geosciences and atmospheric sciences at the University of Arizona. "The extra heat increases the odds of worse heat waves, droughts, storms and wildfire. This is certainly what I and many other climate scientists have been warning about."
Kevin Trenberth, head of climate analysis at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in fire-charred Colorado, said these are the very record-breaking conditions he has said would happen, but many people wouldn't listen. So it's "I told you so" time, he said.
As recently as March, a special report on extreme events and disasters by the Nobel Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change warned of "unprecedented extreme weather and climate events." Its lead author, Chris Field of the Carnegie Institution and Stanford University, said Monday, "It's really dramatic how many of the patterns that we've talked about as the expression of the extremes are hitting the U.S. right now."
"What we're seeing really is a window into what global warming really looks like," said Princeton University geosciences and international affairs professor Michael Oppenheimer. "It looks like heat. It looks like fires. It looks like this kind of environmental disasters."
Oppenheimer said that on Thursday. That was before the East Coast was hit with triple-digit Fahrenheit temperatures (temperatures above 38 degress Celsius) and before a derecho — an unusually strong, long-lived and large straight-line wind storm — blew through Chicago to Washington. The storm and its aftermath killed more than 20 people and left millions without electricity. Experts say it had energy readings five times that of normal thunderstorms.
Fueled by the record high heat, this was one of the most powerful of this type of storm in the region in recent history, said research meteorologist Harold Brooks of the National Severe Storm Laboratory in Norman, Oklahoma. Scientists expect "non-tornadic wind events" like this one and other thunderstorms to increase with climate change because of the heat and instability, he said.
Such patterns haven't happened only in the past week or two. The spring and winter in the U.S. were the warmest on record and among the least snowy, setting the stage for the weather extremes to come, scientists say.
Since Jan. 1, the United States has set more than 40,000 hot temperature records, but fewer than 6,000 cold temperature records, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Through most of last century, the U.S. used to set cold and hot records evenly, but in the first decade of this century America set two hot records for every cold one, said Jerry Meehl, a climate extreme expert at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. This year the ratio is about 7 hot to 1 cold. Some computer models say that ratio will hit 20-to-1 by midcentury, Meehl said.
"In the future you would expect larger, longer more intense heat waves and we've seen that in the last few summers," NOAA Climate Monitoring chief Derek Arndt said.
The 100-degree (40-degree Celsius) heat, drought, early snowpack melt and beetles waking from hibernation early to strip trees all combined to set the stage for the current unusual spread of wildfires in the West, said University of Montana ecosystems professor Steven Running, an expert on wildfires.
While at least 15 climate scientists told The Associated Press that this long hot U.S. summer is consistent with what is to be expected in global warming, history is full of such extremes, said John Christy at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He's a global warming skeptic who says, "The guilty party in my view is Mother Nature."
But the vast majority of mainstream climate scientists, such as Meehl, disagree: "This is what global warming is like, and we'll see more of this as we go into the future."

This is an article from 2007 and it´s swedish conditions

"Meat consumption is very environmentally damaging, a number of scientific studies confirm it, says Annika Carlsson-Kanyama, scientists at Defence Research Agency, the new findings.

Despite that eating of meat increases in Sweden, according to figures from the Agriculture Department. 1990 for a Swedish average of just under 27 kilos of meat products a year. Fifteen years later the figure was 43 kg, according to preliminary calculations.

Vegan movement has discussed the environmental aspect in a decade. This is a discussion in a small circle, but it is a fact that meat consumption contributes to global very extensive environmental damage. Eating vegetarian is a very relevant option for those who want to reduce the emission of greenhouse gas, says Annika Carlsson-Kanyama, which represents the work of the recent UN climate report.

According to her, the food stands for more than a quarter of Swedish households' carbon profile, consumption of animal products account for a significant part.

It is therefore very important that we change our eating habits as they account for a large part of our environment.

The study, which is described in the popular science magazine New Scientist, is made of a Japanese research team at the National Institute of Livestock and Grassland Science, which has measured the carbon footprint of beef production. In addition to estimating how meat affects the greenhouse effect they also looked at other effects, acidification of water, eutrophication, and energy expenditure.

The result is disappointing. For each pound of meat produced is created greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 36.4 kilograms of carbon dioxide. In addition, large amounts of fertilizer are released while large amounts of energy are required. Overall, the emissions of 25 miles of traveling by car and 20 days of continuous use of a 100-watt bulb.

The largest portion of greenhouse gases is methane gas that comes from cows' digestion. The calculation, made for Japanese conditions, do not include transportation.

According to a Swedish study, reducing emissions drastically for those who eat organic meat, which are reared on grass rather than concentrated feed. The animals emit 40 percent less greenhouse gases and make off with 85 percent less energy than those reared in the usual way.

Environmental Protection Agency and Food Administration has now woken up to environmental concerns about food consumption, not least because of the growing meat-eating. The authorities initiated a partnership in June to draw up new recommendations for our eating, taking into account the environment and the increased meat consumption. Work begins in earnest this fall.

- We hope that the new dietary recommendations are to be completed early next year. The Councils will consider how to choose food for it to be more environmental. There might be also a recommendation to eat less beef because of the observed effects on the environment, says Annika Sohlström, director of the nutrition department at the NFA.

Ake Rutegård, managing director of Meat and Meat Industry, which is the trade organization for Swedish companies in the meat industry, has no view on how the meat production in Sweden affects the environment. Rutegård believes that reducing meat production in Sweden is not a solution. It would instead mean that consumers are eating foreign meat.

- We are looking at the environmental aspect, which is complex. It is clear that there are positive aspects of environmental services of meat production, including the landscape is kept open because of the grain grown for the animals.

There are no plans by the Swedish Government on measures to reduce their production."

I hadn´t heard or read about this before.
It sure takes a lot of energy to produce meat.

"Millions of birds and other animals die from lead hunting ammunition each year — not from being shot but from eating fragments of ammunition left behind by hunters. It’s a wildlife epidemic that’s entirely preventable. That’s why on Monday, the Center for Biological Diversity pulled together more than 140 other groups to petition the Environmental Protection Agency to finally get the lead out of hunting ammunition in favor of readily available, nontoxic alternatives.

“The unnecessary poisoning of eagles, condors and other wildlife is a national tragedy that the EPA can easily put an end to,” said Jeff Miller with the Center for Biological Diversity. “There are safe, available alternatives to lead ammo for all hunting and shooting sports, so there’s no reason for this poisoning to go on. Getting the lead out for wildlife is in line with traditional American conservation, hunting and fishing values.”

Each year, 3,000 tons of lead are shot into the environment by hunters because the EPA has refused to regulate toxic lead hunting ammunition. That lead poisons bald eagles, severely endangered condors and majestic trumpeter swans, which die painful deaths. Hunting with lead ammo also risks the health of humans (especially children) when they ingest tiny lead fragments in shot game.

It doesn’t have to be this way. There are many commercially available alternatives to lead rifle bullets and shotgun pellets. More than a dozen manufacturers market hundreds of varieties and calibers of nonlead bullets and shot made of steel, copper and alloys of other metals, with satisfactory to superior ballistics. Nonlead bullets are readily available in all 50 states. Hunters in states and areas that already have lead restrictions or have banned lead have made successful transitions to hunting with nontoxic bullets.

“We wisely removed lead from gasoline and paint because of the dangers of lead poisoning, and now it’s time to do the same for hunting ammunition. Future generations will thank us,” Miller said."

Re: MJJC Legacy Team Project: Planet Earth

The Legacy Project is such a wonderful part of this forum!! Thank you for sharing this useful and important information with us!! :clapping:

I'm only wondering, is there a way to become a member of the Legacy Staff? If it's not possible anymore, it's totally fine. I just think it's a fantastic initiative and since I'm a huge Earth oriented person, like most of you and our Dear Michael, and I'm constantly reading and updating on my own about the situation in our planet, articles on how to help take care of it and more. I thought I could share it with you all. Anyway, I'm doing a lot of Eco-friendly things I wasn't even aware of, for example I don't own a washing machine or drier, I use Eco-friendly products to do the dishes, whenever I can I buy organic products, my computer is an Energy Star device, I don't drink soda, instead I prepare my own beverage at home with all natural ingredients, I use energy saving bulbs, etc. It just feels great knowing you're doing your little contribution to help our world and that's what Michael wanted, I'm sure he's smiling down on us

Sorry Mother (a poem dedicated to Mother Earth)

Sorry Mother for all of the hurt and pain that we have
caused you. For we are now entering an important phase
and so are you. It is the year 2012, time for changes and
time for people to take much better care of you.

Sorry Mother that I was ignorant and blind to all of the
things that has happened, over the years to you. Climate
Change was real, but man believed that it wasn't true.
He believed that he was not the main cause of hurting
poor you.

Sorry Mother that you have to one day vacate, and be
reunited again with God. We tried as much as we could
to save you, but it is just not enough. The clock now is
ticking, and time is speeding and your slowly slipping away
from us.

With all of the things that is going on today, in this world,
you found it all too much. You were put under so much
stress and pressure and soon you will bust. You are terminally
ill with a fever, which won't go away and stop. Oh dear Mother
if only we could turn back the clock!.

30 Ways To Reuse Bottles And Containers

reused-bottles-art.jpg

Every day we purchase many things which come in either bottles or containers. Many of us throw away these containers or bottles after using them only once. We see these used bottles and containers as a waste. But if you think practically they are not.

Reusing and re-purposing plastic helps in saving environment as well. These empty containers and bottles can save you lots of money. And you will not need to do any hard work, just clever thinking will save you money. Here are 30 ways to reuse bottles and containers:

1) Use plastic bottles for storing extra paint. This extra paint can be used for wall touch-ups. So you will not need to buy new paint cans for doing small touch-ups.

2) If you have any medium- or small-sized containers, then you can use it as a pencil or pen stand.

3) Glass bottles can be used as vases. Glass bottles with attractive shapes can become good flower vases as well.

4) Use as a funnel to bore a hole in the lid of a plastic bottle. And then stick any hollow but tough plastic straw into the hole. Cut the bottom of plastic bottle, and your funnel is ready to use.

5) Watering plants – first cut the bottom off of a plastic bottle and then keep them upside down near your plant. If you keep the lid of the bottle loosely screwed on and add water, your plant will be watered slowly.

6) You can store pins, nails, and screws in any small container.

7) Use glass bottles as a makeshift candlestick.

8) Glass bottles with different shapes and colors looks good as home decorations.

9) You can use bumpy base of a plastic soda bottle to juice a citrus fruit.

10) Workout – fill plastic bottles or containers with water or soil. It will make them very heavy. That much weight can be used as free weights.

11) Colorful lights – if you put small bulbs in different colored bottles, and group them decoratively you can create a festive mood.

12) Make ice – if you want ice just to make water cool, then keep bottles filled with water in a refrigerator to make ice.

13) Store cookies or other small baked goods in metal or plastic containers.

14) Sewing material organization – storing buttons, threads, needles in small containers is great idea. If you keep those things in a container, these small items will not get lost and neither will your hard-earned money.

15) Grow plants – plants can grow in plastic bottles or containers.

reuse-plastic.jpg

16) Small containers can be used to store clips, hair bands, etc.

17) Instead of buying new water bottles, you can use reuse any type of bottle for tap water. This is infinitely more ecologically sound than buying bottled water

18) Party showpiece – tie a different colored ribbon around neck of glass bottle and your party showpiece is ready.

19) You can create sand art using transparent glass and plastic bottles.

20) If you juice your own citrus fruits, use a plastic bottle to store the juice in the fridge.

21) You can use a plastic jar to store hand soap.

22) You can preserve pickles into glass containers.

23) When you buy fruits that come in plastic containers, save the containers. They can be reused when you harvest and store your own fruits or vegetables.

24) You can store dried fruits in glass or plastic containers.

25) You can use plastic bottles in many way to make school projects for your child.

26) Sprayer – remove the lid and fit with a sprayer lid..

27) You can use any container to store your medicines or cosmetics.

28) Oil that isn’t properly stored can freeze in cold temperatures. If you reuse plastic containers with wide mouths to store oil you can always remove at least some of the oil, even if it freezes.

29) You can store excess food or leftovers in plastic containers.

30) You can use glass jars to store spices. You can use big or small container like jam bottle according to your needs.

A Green Vitrine for Your Balcony
October 25, 2012

I've been haunted by the vision of this charming compact greenhouse ever since I spotted it in a blurry Pinterest image a few months back. Was it a product I could get my hands on...or a one-of-a-kind DIY project? These are the sorts of questions that keep me awake at 3 am. Yesterday I finally figured out the answer:

700_hasselfors.jpg

Above: The Finnish gardening supply company Kekkilä sells the Odlingsvitrin (which the company translates as "Green Vitrine") through its Hasselfors Garden line for home gardeners. A compact greenhouse for an urban garden, it's priced at 6995 kronor (or roughly $1,046 US); to order, go to Hasselsfors Garden. Photograph via Sköna hem.

No balcony? For a tabletop greenhouse, see "10 Easy Pieces: Wardian Cases."

700_vitrine-montage.jpg

Above: The easy-to-assemble Odlingsvitrin (L) is made of white-painted Finnish pine and the roof has "an automatic opening device that reacts to temperature," according to the manufacturer. "When the temperature rises high enough, the roof of the Vitrine automatically opens." Excess water is collected in a tray at the bottom of the case. A storage drawer (R) at the bottom of the greenhouse holds supplies.

What are you going to grow in there? For ideas, see "Required Reading: The Edible Balcony."

After months, I'm tired of drinking 'syrup' juice so I switched over to just natural flavour juice but still caring for the planet though...

I now buy the HUGE cartons and fill it up with a 're usable' plastic bottle...

I guess HERE is the RIGHT spot to 'bedazzle' you with another ECO Project :cheeky:

What the 'crisis' does to you, hey? It makes you more 'creative' than before

I wanted a NEW sofa or just a comfy chair but the prices these days are :tease:

I'm NOT saving months on a 'stupid' sofa so I asked my parents if they were still using those 'mattresses' wandering around in the addict :scratch:Oh, I got a Mousse piece from my Grandma's house too... They were just gonna bin it cause who ever sits on a Mousse these days

Here is a Piccie of HOW the ECO sofa is made...

This is the result... Voila... FREE Eco sofa...
I had the cushions and the blanket belonged to my late Grandma too

Re: MJJC Legacy Team Project: Planet Earth

This is another project we're doing... I'm NOT one that really likes to 'brag' about it but if it INSPIRES other peeps then okay :agree:

We have a lot of cats in the neighbourhood... HOME cats and unfortunately strays or abandoned cats :sigh:

So, this is a photo of the 'backyard' where we care for an 'abandoned' cat we call Molly
Well, we know she has a HOME but they don't care for her and we can't take her in cause my parents have Larissa, our Maincoon. We don't want that neither cats get hurt :cheeky:
I can't take her with me too cause a flat is not really a place for a cat who is used to live outside in nature

So, a BORING Intro just to show you the piccie of how we care for Molly

Re: MJJC Legacy Team Project: Planet Earth

They destroy the real forests, homes of orangutangs and plant palms instead.
This IMPORTANT:
Just because a product says it is "Organic" or "Cruelty-Free" does not mean it doesn't contain palm oil. In fact, most natural/organic products do contain palm oil - because palm oil is a very much a natural ingredient. It's the way it is produced that is far from natural, which is something many companies fail to realise.

About Palm Oil

Palm oil is a type of vegetable oil which is high in saturated fat, presenting health concerns. It is derived from the palm fruit, grown on the African oil palm tree. Oil palms originated in West Africa, but can flourish wherever heat and rainfall are abundant. Today, almost all palm oil is produced in, and exported from, Indonesia and Malaysia; but most of the time not using sustainable measures.

Thousands of kilometres of pristine rainforest is slashed and burned in order to make way for oil palm plantations. Many orangutans and other animals are killed in the process, for the production of palm oil used in many of our everyday foods and products. This large-scale deforestation is pushing orangutans to extinction, along with many other native species of Borneo and Sumatra.

Palm oil is an extremely popular vegetable oil amongst manufacturers. It is used in over 50% of products, including: baked goods, confectionery, cosmetics, body products and cleaning agents. But in many countries, there is no law on the mandatory labelling of palm oil. Consequently, companies will usually hide palm oil under the name of 'vegetable oil', or over 170 other names! (See the list of the most common 30 names below).

One argument is that we need palm oil in today's society, and that palm oil is a key ingredient in many foods and body products. But what about 30 years ago? Back then, palm oil wasn't use is nearly as many products as today (as seen in the graphs found on the 'Images' page), in fact, it was almost non-existant in much of the Western-world. So why does there need to be such a high demand for it in the modern world? We don't need palm oil. There a many alternatives to palm oil, but unfortunately none as cheap and efficient, which is why companies are reluctant to switch.

Another alternative option for companies is 'sustainable palm oil'. The only issue with sustainable palm oil is that currently, this 'eco-friendly' vegetable oil is sourced through RSPO, an organisation which is considered unreliable and untrustworthy by many (read the segment below for more information).

However; even if sustainable palm oil was proven to actually be 'sustainable', why wouldn't all companies use it? Consider two chocolate bars. They both contain palm oil. One uses palm oil sourced from a sustainable plantation, the other uses palm oil from plantations associated with animal genocide and catastrophic deforestation. Which one would you buy? The answer may be obvious to you, but for the global corporate giants of this world, it's a different story.
Because palm oil isn't labelled in many countries, consumers are blinded to the fact that many of the products they are buying contribute to this unprecedented disaster. One of the lists below consists of well-known products that contain crude palm oil as well as a list of products that contain 'sustainable' palm oil. That way you can have the choice whether to buy them or not.

Orangutan numbers are plummeting at a dangerously fast rate, all for our sugary, prepackaged snack foods and fragrant, chemical-filled soaps and shampoos.

We have a choice, orangutans do not.

RSPO - Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil

RSPO, founded in 2004, is an organisation made to promote the sustainable agriculture of the palm oil crop.
It is a good start for companies to become a member of RSPO and commit to sourcing 'Sustainable Palm Oil', however; the effectiveness of RSPO is yet to be proven.

There has been large debate and controversy over whether RSPO is a well run, effective organisation or as some describe; 'a green wash'. Many consumers are not happy with RSPO's low standards and lack of regulations. Consumers state that the RSPO is simply a name that companies can hide behind and that the palm oil cannot be proven to be sustainable.
"At the present time, it is possible to be a full member of the RSPO without ever actually producing any RSPO certified sustainable palm oil." - Wikipedia, the online Encyclopedia.

For now, it's up to you as a consumer to choose whether you trust the RSPO and their standards on sustainable palm oil.

7 ways to detect & avoid palm oil
If you live in countries such as Australia, New Zealand or the UK, then you will understand how frustrating it is trying to avoid palm oil when shopping, because there are no laws on the mandatory labelling of palm oil. This means companies usually don't label palm oil on their products.
The list below consists of a number of different ways in which you can detect and avoid palm oil when shopping:

1.The most common name palm oil is hidden under is 'vegetable oil'. Almost all Asian products or products made in Asia that have 'vegetable oil' written on the label means that it is palm oil.

2.Most pre-packaged snack foods made by well known, large corporate-giants (Nestle, Unilever etc) contain palm oil.

3.If a product's saturated fat content is over 40% of it's total fat content, it will almost always have palm oil in it.

4.Ingredients with the word 'palm' in them are palm oil or are derived from the oil palm fruit (as shown in the ingredient list below).

5.Nearly all home-brand/no-name pasties and confectionery will contain palm oil (Coles/Safeway donuts, muffins, cakes, chocolate, confectionery etc).

6.If you are not sure whether a product contains palm oil, either type the product name into google along with 'palm oil' and see the search results, or call the company and ask if they use palm oil.

7.To avoid palm oil, look out for products that contain alternative vegetable oils, such as 100% sunflower oil, corn oil or canola oil. However, please note that Soybean oil is often associated with the destruction of rainforest in Brazil.

IMPORTANT:
Just because a product says it is "Organic" or "Cruelty-Free" does not mean it doesn't contain palm oil. In fact, most natural/organic products do contain palm oil - because palm oil is a very much a natural ingredient. It's the way it is produced that is far from natural, which is something many companies fail to realise.

Product Lists

Below are three lists:
TOP LEFT: Companies and their products that use palm oil sourced from land that once-was orangutan rainforest habitat.
BOTTOM LEFT: Companies and their brands that use RSPO 'sustainable' palm oil.

It is up to you as a consumer to choose whether to continue buying these products, whether they are crude, or whether you trust RSPO sustainable palm oil to be farmed in a sustainable manner.

A great way to help is to use these lists to target companies and complain about the use of palm oil in their products. Choose some of your favourite products that contain palm oil, go to their websites and find their contact details. You could either send them an email, or even better, give them a call! Express your opinion about their use of environmental-damaging palm oil - tell them about the catastrophic impacts palm oil is having on the planet, and encourage them to switch to an alternative vegetable oil!
CONSUMER PRESSURE = CHANGE!

Re: MJJC Legacy Team Project: Planet Earth

Thanks for the update, Mist... I think my stubborn stomach has made the ECO choice for me ;)

So, I guess the ONLY thing I still use so far is Colgate and that's it

Re: MJJC Legacy Team Project: Planet Earth

This is wonderful seeing that so many have taken time to post information on how to help Mother Earth... as well as share what they have already done. So much L.O.V.E. Amazing! Keep it going ???

Re: MJJC Legacy Team Project: Planet Earth

Yesterday, I had to go out and buy new light bulbs... I'm  to say we still used the 'original' ones cause the 'greeny ones' didn't really fit in the 'old fashioned' light stands we own

Then, I found a store who sold them both the Original ones and a whole range of those 'greeny ones' and I discovered the whole exciting new range...

I was checking the 'original ones' and one found the way to the basket  and then I heard that that 'little voice' in me scolding...

"What are you buying? "
"Eh, Light bulbs? "
"Not with the Energy on E" he fretted.
"Okay" I shrugged and put the original one back in the shelves

I picked up one with the Energy on A and I heard this little voice in me saying
"Bree will be so proud of you..."
"HUH" I reacted.
"For caring for Planet Earth..."
"Okay" I smiled.

So, this is what I finally bought...
