Pet Peeves

I have one to add to that after working in retail for a few years!

When you hold your hand out to accept the money and they plonk it down on the counter! Just plain rude!

Yep very rude. Also don't know if this has happened to you whilst serving someone but when they put loads of things on the counter so you start scanning but then the customer yanks one of the items from your hand and is like, "Oh no that's mine, I bought it from another shop" and then they look at you like you're an idiot and I feel like saying, "So why put it on the damn counter amongst the stuff you're buying now? FOOL!" As you can tell, the list is endless when it comes to stuff that annoys me about working with the great British public. The best time was when someone told me off for placing her change in her hand the wrong way SMH.

When I hold the door open for someone, and they don't say "thank you," or when I say "Hi / Hi, how are you?" to someone at work, and they ignore me.

^^^^^yep.

also...aside from how that related to negative peoples' thoughts on Michael....and this also relates to media bias and brainwashing..

when i hear 'please drink responsibly'. and when i hear in commercials how people think it's more dangerous to drink to the point of losing your sense of judgement, than it is for adults.

since when are there degrees of danger? danger is DANGER!

and..if you lose your sense of judgement, how do you know how to drink responsibly?

drinking and driving are equally dangerous for both teenagers AND adults.

getting the left behind chocolates at the end of the box. Because you know no one likes them. :)

I really hate the sound of heels clicking and clacking from someone walking behind me, especially if they are particularly hard heels that make a lot of noise. I don't know about other cities but here in NYC usually these people are hurrying to God knows where. Where's the fire? LOL. It's like nails on a chalkboard. And I feel like I'm being chased. I wear quiet shoes. :)

LOL! @ "feels like I'm being chased" People in NY are always in a rush and holding a cup of coffee too, lol. Slow down people, lay off the caffeine, and take it easy. lol

And about holding that cup of coffee...people should NOT get on a crowded bus with it unless it's in a secure thermos. But they generally stand over sitting passengers holding it. Buses jerk and hit pot holes all the time. It really can be dangerous if the coffee is really hot and it spills on someone's face.

It's true about the coffee. I've tried walking and holding hot coffee in one hand at the same time and I just can't do it without burning myself. I don't know how some people do it.

Also, in NYC I noticed that people here are very competitive. Everybody wants to be the first...the first to get on the train, the first to get OFF the train, the first to cross the street, the first on the line, the first to go through the doors, etc etc. Chill out people of NY! LOL I need to move.
