I like the idea of a self titled album..

I also think that it would have been cool to have the title For All Time.. i think that sounds good.. Michael Jackson - For All Time .. but that wont happen.

So? It doesnt have to be. Thiller aint a creative title Mike didnt even write the song. He just chose it from the set list of 9 tunes on the album. Became iconic because of Success.

Bad is a tune from an album, Dangerous too.. History was thought of by someone else (and is also a tune). Blood On The Dance Floor is a tune and so is invincible.

Impossible to guess a title when we dont have a tracklist obviously, but suggestions would TEND to have to relate directly to what a song could be also titled.

I think his best title is HIStory simply because it can be read as History (for disc1, greatest hits) and His Story (disc2, all about his life)

None of the others, to me, are creative.

I love the title 'Phoenix' - just says it all!

Or simply 'Back' - in my siggy, will be there 'till the album comes out! :D

"For All Time" is a great idea too (love that song!)

But the idea of a self titled album at this stage is pretty pointless (to me at least). I mean we know his name by now. I think it's a terrible idea actually--he's got other albums (re-releases and compilations etc) with the name "Michael Jackson" included in the title--so that would be weird and would seem un-inspired and kind of lazy.

Or, if the song is featured on the album.........................how about the song title dedicated to us: "Beautiful" ? :)

EXperience Mandatory!
1.) Partly, due to it being almost 40 years, (careerwise) & his 50th birthday!
2.)To answer media on the subject that there could ever be an new 'KING of POP'

Cover:

A large cd package, (to resemble an old album cover:lol:).
His image in a white coat, suit & hat (almost moon walker), but without a tie. Add a black disco style shirt, unbuttoned to his chest.
Design the cover to open, as if you're opening his coat!

Super imposed over his pic:

A back drop (in black & white of course) of gossip/critic news articles, claiming that their could ever be another King of Pop! Over that, lifetime color enhanced career photos of MJ.

Content:

A few sexy, but genuinely sweet & true pop luv-v ballads delivered in a sexy raspy tone!:wub: Some soulful takes, retro beats but all new music, (none sampled:wacko:), which borrow sound & lyric styles from each era of his career, (from Motown-present).

Michael shouldn't name his album something that signifies his "return" to the music scene. Why would you want to emphasize the fact you've been absent, and are now coming back? People know the next album would be his "comeback" album, so calling it something along the lines of "emerge" or anything relating to that would come across as silly.

It would be best that his music do the talking, and not the album name itself. It would forever have the weight of his comeback on this album even more so then if it were named something totally unrelated. Can you imagine the headlines??

Michael, as a self titled album is a terrific and simple idea. It seems a lot more mature and full circle, however it lacks a kind of spark the previous albums had. Invincible copped a lot of flack for seemingly being a little too egotistical, so you can rule out those titles such as "King" or anything along those lines. The best thing to do is let the music do the talking, and dont draw attention to the less significant things like the title of the album.

Perfectly put. Michael shouldn't do anything that reeks of ego or pomposity (e.g. HIStory statues!). I love the idea of simply Michael, I've also said INFLUENCE before because it sounds nice and it's a nod to all the rest of the chart acts that Mike has influenced.

Yeah i dunno. I disagree damien. Even through MJ always names the title of his album after one of the songs on the album, THRILLER is still more eyecatching in a store than something named MICHAEL JACKSON. Everyone makes self titled albums. Not everyone has albums called Thriller and Bad LOL

I mentioned before the reason to title the album "Smelly" and another thought occurred to me. Don't his nephews call him Uncle Doo Doo? He could simply call it "Doo Doo." Better yet, combine the two and call it "Smelly Doo Doo"…
 
smelly doodoo, one thing is for certain, the media would love that title. I can see the reports and the titles of the reviews now.

One thing for sure, no matter what the album title is going to be, he has to choose one that will not draw nasty, ironic or ridiculous comments from the press. He WILL initially need at least a few good reviews (4 or 5 stars) on the road to huge success. The title must be powerful but not in the sense of Unbeatable, Unbreakable, etc... Something both neutral and powerful (and one word) LOL! A bit difficult, isn't it!? :lol:
 
And sunny, he will do exactly opposite of that. Cuz his titles always get talked about by the press. LOL Bad, Invincible, Dangerous...all of them...except maybe History....is talked about cuz they are arrogant sounding. I think it should stay that way cuz the more the press talks, the more sells it will generate lol
