Official Charts Thread For ''Michael''

Let's help him get another #1 album!! This could be the last chance for a very long time. An additional 5,000 copies can literally make or break it. So if everyone in here bought a few extra copies between now and Sunday we can make a big difference!
 
Michael has gone down to #6 in the UK on the I Tunes album chart.
I hope what someone said about older artists selling more instores then digitally is true, but Take That have the same age group of audience and they are #3 with an album that came out over a month ago. It's not looking good for the UK, sad it's the place MJ decided to do TII to.
Boycott fans - please go boycott playstations and Sony TVs, not Mike!

Didn't Barbara Streisand already have a number 1 album in like 5 decades?
 
The album is failing in the US and UK. Sony predicted 150,000 sales in the UK and the actual results will struggle to hit 100,000 (#3 debut) while in the US it was expected to be a guaranteed #1 hit with 400,000+ sales. Now it's in a 3 way battle to get #1 with sales struggling to hit 250,000. Not good at all.

I hope Sony have a back up plan to help the album.I still haven't heard hmh on the radio, nevermind seen any promotion for the album.
 
Come on fans :( I hate to see Michael's album failing..

MICHAEL is #3 on Finnish iTunes :) HMH isn't doing so well though.. #70..
 
Michael didn't sell well in Japan, debut at NO.3, only sold 15356.

The album needs a serious push in promotion. It's only been out in the US a day and a half and it is failing badly.
 
Please remember someone sold like tens of millions in 80's when others hundreds of thousands. It's not about being #1, not even nowadays.

I'm really dreading this post...
I never thought he'd actually be in this position, struggling to hit #1 - I mean yeah a couple thousand confused/clueless "fans" :doh:
boycotting, but I didn't really think it'd affect the sales that much. Plus Sony's doing a horrible job promoting :( It's like they're not even trying here in the USA. Haven't seen any posters or heard anything on the radio yet, most people don't even know it exists where I live. A couple of people brought it up to me today, and I was delighted to hear that they knew it was released yesterday, but that's about it.
 
Tomorrow I will buy 3 copies of the album shipped in a US address in order to help Michael reach No1.

Estimates will be issued Friday by Hits Daily Double which will take sales from Monday-Thursday and make an educated guess. (But that does not take sales into account for Fri-Sat-Sun). Final numbers will be issued next Tuesday by Hits Daily Double.
 
:lol: I don't know if this matters,but last night when I was at Wal Mart I bought a copy and then realised that I wanted to get my neice a copy too..so I had my friend run back in Wal Mart to get another.. So does that help sales with 2 different receipts for the album?
 
Whether or not "Michael" debuts at number #1 does not really matter.
"Word of Mouth" will extend the impact of this album throughout the upcoming months and beyond.

"Michael" is a Miracle that has come at just the right time. :cheeky:

Everyone post it on their facebook, twitter, etc. It will make it to #1.
 
I don't understand why Susan Boyle is so popular in US? Why she sells more albums in US then in UK? She already sold over 1,3 million albums in US.. how is that possible?

Becaue America loves a fairy tale rags-to-riches story, and because people that like Susan Boyle still BUY albums

Yes, the first week's sale are important, BUT, this ain't no sprint...

Long after ALL the others sales have tuckered out, "Michael" will still be selling.

It's what the count is at the end that really matters :cheeky: and this is only the beginning.
 
michael will get to number 1 when they drop a uptempo song tht will be played everywhere tbh, it needs tht kick tbh, like a right proper hit single
