project natal uses a DIFFERENT technology and is far far more realistic and advanced than the ps eye!
But it won't be out until middle/end of 2010...

btw: Why is everyone thinking, that this game will make use of motion sensors or anything like that? We don't have any info and the source seems not that serious to me...

Let's wait until we see some screenies!

I'm sure Microsoft doesn't care much. A game featuring MJ isn't exactly going to be high on a gamer's wish list.

The HIStory of MJ Video Games

I've always wanted to document all of the commercial and at least pseudo-professional video games that have in one way or another featured MJ as an integrated part--he's the most featured real-life celebrity to ever appear in video games (not just with his official games but with many third party games as well). I haven't yet found the time to do so, but here's a visual overview of many such games including some rarities... There are multiple screenshots shown of the official Moonwalker games, each is from a different platform so they are graphically different from one another. These are in no particular order at all, and does not include third party Flash games or animations, nor the games where anyone can create a Michael Jackson skin or character (e.g., LittleBigPlanet, Wii games, The Sims).

ps eye is far more advanced than anything even natal! i just watched a video from 2004 on eyetoy and ps eye tech and it clearly shows that natal tech was being worked on even then by Sony!

They have stolen many and many great ideas from Sega for example.

Michael Jackson Returns To Spotlight With New Video Game?

For those under the age of 30, they may not realize that there was a time when Michael Jackson was cool. And in fact, he wasn't just cool; he defined an entire generation in the '80s and to be perfectly frank, if you didn't experience Jackson at his peak, you don't know what a pop idol really is (same goes for Madonna on the female side and in the same decade).

It's depressing what has happened to him since, which is why we refuse to use one of those uber-creepy new pictures. We prefer to remember him this way, when he earned the world's love with "Thriller." And lo and behold, he'll be back on tour this year and - brace yourselves - a video game should come with Jackson's revival. According to Euro website 9Lives, the King of Pop will attempt to rock London's O2 Arena, and a game will follow this effort. All we know is that it will be available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and Wii and it should be ready for the holiday season. Now, I would like to see Michael Jackson's Moonwalker 2, but I'm relatively certain that isn't going to happen. The first game was a cult classic that actually shipped with the Sega Genesis for a brief time, but it was hardly the epitome of quality and/or technical achievement. We can be nostalgic all we want...the game really wasn't that good. But damn, it brings us all back, doesn't it? Anyway, we'll let you know whenever Jackson chooses to make this project public, and if it may follow in the footsteps of blockbuster franchises like Guitar Hero and SingStar.

Yeah, he very likely needs the money but who knows? The music genre doesn't really have any bad games, does it? And there's no way in hell they'd make another action/adventure game like Moonwalker...right?

Eyetoy is not a motion sensor!
I like Eyetoy, but I can't imagine how it would be usefull in a Michael Jackson game...

like using ur face as "michael's face" and u can dance like mike!

Natal is far superior to the eyetoy, as you would expect. Eyetoy has been out for ages and is old technology.
the Natal tracks the movements of multiple players without the need for any controllers of any type. It not only tracks movements of limbs and head, but is also able to discriminate between discrete movements of the feet and hands, which is something no other peripheral released for any console at the moment can do. It was obviously based on the success of the Wii console and on the trend set by the Eyetoy, but the technology behind it is a massive leap forward and works in a different way to either of those products. Anybody who compares this product to the Eyetoy/Wii obviously just doesn't know what they're talking about. Companies release products inspired by other products success all the time and it is not stealing as long as they don't infringe another company's Intellectual Property rights. There are several videos and reviews of the system demonstration at the recent E3 show online, all you have to do is do some research and you'll see what we're talking about. It's pointless to bash Natal - something you obviously know very little about - for no good reason.

Agree with both of you. It's a strange move not putting this out on the 360 since it's by far the biggest selling 'next-gen' console out there. It's already sold far more units worldwide than the PS3 and is consistently outselling it month-on-month.
My only thoughts are that since this is obviously not a game that is exclusive to either Sony or Nintendo (assuming it really is being released on both formats) then it must be being developed by an independant company (i.e. not Sony or Nintendo). Most independent developers would develop for the most profittable platforms first and leave the others as a second option because after all, they are trying to make a profit. In the current market, Wii has sold the most units overall and the Xbox 360 is in second place by quite a large margin. Therefore it would make much more sense to develop for Xbox 360 too, not exclude it. Now, I believe MS vet each game being released and can ultimately refuse a game they don't want on their platform. I don't think this would happen often, but it can happen. So, maybe MS have prevented this game being released on Xbox360.

On the other hand, perhaps we don't have the complete/accurate information. We just need more news...

Lol at all these people having a console war, they are each great in their own ways, and each have some top quality games on them. Wii is great for its party games and anything light-hearted but there are a lack of quality games that are single players, there are some but not that many. XBox 360 has a great game library and is great if you love your first person shooters because there are plenty of great ones on it and it has the best online community out of all the consoles but the console itself have issues with breaking down I know a few people who have the dreaded 'red rings of death' problem and Microsoft are not very good at sorting the problem out and have charged a bomb for it to be fixed when the error occurs, plus there's often graphics when running certain games like Grand Theft Auto. PS3 is the most expensive which has put some people off but it has a blu-ray player built in and although the online component may not be as good as XBox Live at the moment it is improving and the big bonus is that its completely free and they don't charge you anything unlike Xbox, game wise the PS3 has a lot more exclusives being developed for it now that are coming out this year and next year that are being highly sought after and combine this with an upcoming price cut that's due to be announced, your going to see a big boost in sales. They all have their positives and negatives and in all honesty they all offer their own unique experience in terms of games.

Plus its funny how people are saying Natal is better PS Eye when none of you have tried both of them. Before people get confused Eyetoy was for the PS2 but Sony have been developing a new motion sensor product for a long time for the PS3 called PS Eye. At the moment neither PS Eye and Natal have been brought out but PS Eye has been worked on over a longer period and is due to be released sometime this year while Natal is due for release next year. It will be interesting to see how both Natal and the PS Eye will work when they are released.

Anyway, this game that is being developed obviously isn't a Singstar game since Singstar is exclusive to Sony and is not avaliable for the Wii (although there have been mentions that a Singstar game is being developed for the PS3 and PS2.) I have a feeling that this new game is going to be based around Michael's music videos and probably will have various levels inspired by them. I know there was mention a year ago of Moonwalker being completely reworked for the PS3, so this could have been in the works for quite a while.

For all those who are saying that a game inspired by MJ's music or videos featuring Michael Jackson won't work then I guess you are not aware of a game called Brutal Legend featuring Jack Black coming out later this year that is being developed that is based all around playing levels rooted in the front covers of various rock albums and people in the gaming world are very much looking forward to it. So maybe its best to reserve judgement until you see previews of the game and how it is in action before saying 'oh no it will never work and no one will buy it' etc. There Rock Band Metallica, Aerosmith and Singstar Queen and they have sold really well and there's a Beatles game coming out so why not Michael Jackson one.
 
If i could ever make a game though.....boy would i make such a nice game where you play as Mike. And you have to carry out missions, like in Hitman. People who played the games know what i mean. I would make missions where you get to infiltrate the Santa Barbara PD and eventually...' get rid' of that little a-hole Sneddon.

About the upcoming game...however if they ARE planning on making a game kinda like 50 Cent: Blood on the sand...i am all for it.That game decent-good...it can work. But i ain't expecting it. The fact though that there's gonna be a MJ game..is already pretty damn dope yo ;)
 
^^^ I don't think the game will be anything like 50 Cent's Bulletproof :lol: but it would be funny if it was. I do think it will probably be an action/adventure game though with some moments where you have to do dance move to finish bosses off :lol:.

First Ps eye IS INDEED OUT!! has been since October 27th 2007! The ps eye does indeed have motion tracking capabilities and as previously stated does indeed do everything NOW what Natal may or maynot as there has not been anything PHYsically running! unlike Sony which has!
