New Janet Interview from Gotham Magazine

to those people who tell her that life goes on..well...that doesn't need to be said. it sounds heartless..and quite frankly, it's not known what's up with the people who say it..how they felt about Michael..

Janet's being politically correct about it. but there is some leakage about her missing her brother.

Listen, don't get it twisted, read and understand.

The photo posted on the cover of the magazine is not what Janet's present body looks like. She was not that size at the memorial, nor at the VMA's and neither most recently at either the AMA's or Jingle Bell show. And as for your fat comment, without all that yoyo dieting and years of working out, Janet is naturally fat. What always happens when she is not promoting or touring? she puts back on the weight, the pictures don't lie.

Now back to the topic!

like I said you were trying to a make a side remark about her weight and it was uncalled for period, yes she goes up and down and she's not as thin as she was on tour, but the woman is not "fat" the only time she gained the most weight was in 2006 for that movie .

Exactly! when you heard Janet speak about Michael in the ABC interview, it was about them when they were younger, not so much in the present. A distance was formed between them and it does'nt seem as though anything changed in recent years.

And it was pretty predictable. Once Mike was wrapping up with his tour, Janet was heading out, Bad Tour 1988-1989, RN1814 1990, Dangerous 1992-93, Janet. Tour 1993-1995....and so forth. And once you've been away from someone for so long, you start to lose a connection with that person.

Why the hell is Gotham passing years old pictures of Janet as recent? Who are they trying to fool?

GO SIT DOWN! :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical::hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:

But you still love each other. My mom didn't see her brother for like 20 years and they barely talked on the phone. He lived in Germany. It was just like that, no real reason. He died over a year ago and she was heartbroken and wished she got to see him more. I think when someone in your family dies that always stays with you. You go on with life but life isn't the same anymore. At least she got to see him one last time and when she did they were laughing and having a good time.

Nice interview. Glad she is doing well. As she said life goes on when someone dies. The same responsibilities you had before are still there, you will have new experiences and the world keeps turning. It doesn't diminish the loss but it's all a part of the circle of life.

I'm glad she is grounded enough to understand that and keep moving forward as we all have done when we have lost a parent or sibling and even our very close friends.

I'm sure Janet grieves for her brother in private and they stayed connected by phone. I don't know.

All I know is I miss Michael and I burst into tears from time to time when I think of him. I'm not related to him and I never looked at him as an "icon". I think this is why fans mourn so much is the fact that they "grew up" with Michael and feel like he was a part of the family. And since he was so sweet and kind to fans you felt closer to him. It's not like when you meet Kayne West, the guy is so rude and obnoxious to his fans (I met him 5 times where I live....he's 'argh' to fans) he really wants nothing to do with you. Michael would hug you, kiss you, hold you, hug you some more, kiss you some more...and so fourth. Like Johnny Depp, he has never been nasty to fans and was always a gentleman. There's a huge void in this world. Sure, having Johnny here (thank god) leaves me with some good feelings, but that other half is gone (Michael) and so this world just seems colder.

So that's the only teeny tiny thing that bothered me when the Jackson's said fans look at him as an icon. To me Michael was a dear friend. And it's almost 7 months and it has been a little hard for me to move on yet.

How are you gonna tell me what I was trying to say? are you in my mind? and if you believe she gained that weight for that movie then she really fooled you. If it will make you feel better, Janet is not 'fat'....

:sigh:

Jeffery Danial's already confirmed that Janet was supposed to star in the movie Tennessee and she gained weight for her role. But the movie schedule overrode her album schedule so she backed out of her role. Mariah filled in for her.

Well when she passes, I'm not gonna loose a minute to mourn her, since life goes on, and hopefully no one else does either, after all life goes on. And why did they use 2 year old pics of her?
if you don't mourn her then that's your business but i'd hope if anyone you know died you realize that life does go on but that doesn't make you miss the person any less.

Although there is still grief, when you haven't been in contact with people for a long period of time, it's kind of like an emptiness. IDK it's hard to explain. With the person not around and not having spoken to them in years, it's almost like they don't exist, other than the memories. That's why I think Janet can still have a smile on her face, despite the amount of pain behind her smile.

Well Janet begs to differ

And no offense, but I'm pretty sure the world will take Janet's word over yours. Also, Janet is not fat. Her figure for a black woman in typical. If you actually believe she's fat, then clearly your perception based on the hollywood definition of thin.

I wish her all the best in her life, I'd love to read her book and actually SEE the movie (also the first part - why those movies that I'd really like to see never come here?!).

And like someone else said too, the fact that you realise life goes on doesn't mean you don't miss the person any less.

Janet was the one that said it was her 'idea' to gain the weight for the role as she thought it would lend some authenticity to the role. Yes the role went to Mariah, but did you see her pack on the pounds? no.

The world can take Janets word over mine, I don't really care. I noted that the photos used were obviously old as she did not look like that for the past couple of months. Never did I bring up the word 'fat' it was another poster who assumed she could read my mind and started on that discussion.

How can you even tell her size? She's wearing a dress. :mello:

That's enough, the weight discussion stops here. If not the thread will be closed.
