I at one point was over weight, and changed my life around.. I became a certified trainer and have helped a lot of people get to there fitness potential..

I have been exercising i've lost about 2ibs lol not alot but hey i'm trying

That's good! well Im going to keep bumping this thread to push you, that will be my way of helping you ehe :clapping:

Also don't try to go on some crazy diet.. yet XD, first just make a few changes that might not seem like alot but do make a significant change, like eliminate soda from your life ... though if you're an addict like me that might be impossible , all bread should be 100% wheat, instead of chips or snacks like that, try pork rinds ( they're damn good too :punk:)

Umm what other tips do you guys have? Oooh also take the grease off pizzas with a napkin lol seriously all of that helps

Where is Thriller_mj? Hope you haven't given up. Loosing lots weight isn't as tough as it seems. From experience, you just need to keep at it and pretty soon you'll be a shadow of your former self.

There is no secret to loosing weight or toning up. It just takes pure exercise, exercise, exercise. Obviously you'll need to set up a food or meal plan with plenty of natural foods such as vegtables.

Take on board whatever KOPV is saying via PM as I'm sure knows what he's talking about being a former trainer

Apart from the obivous exercise which i've been doing where can i find decent meal plans ?

I wish you all the luck in the world Thriller_MJ :D

Remember to eat small, healthy snacks frequently (about 6 times a day/every 2-3 hours). Drink lots of water!
The healthy snacks could be veggies.

Eat often enough that you're never hungry.
This way you avoid overeating, when it's time for the big meals, and it keeps your metabolism going.

You body must NEVER think, there's a lack of food.
If you keep food from your body, you will regain weight, once you start eating normally again.
Your body will think, you're in distress (lack of food) and will try to 'fatten you up', so that you (your body) will be able to withstand/survive another 'food drought', should it return. Your body is set on survival. Keep that in mind.

Drink a big glass of water before having a meal.
Only eat till you feel full.
Take your time chewing, it will help make you feel full. Don't ask me why.

No white bread

i like ediets.com i used it before. i forget how much the subscription is but its nothing compared to weight watchers, jenny craig, etc. i got the subscription that gives you the diet and also the exercises. you just plug in your current weight and height, your activity level, and then how much weight you want to lose, and your goal date. it will tell you how many calories you can consume in a day, provide a diet and a grocery list you can print down and take to the grocery store. it sends you daily motivational emails too. i liked it a lot.

i struggle with weight too, try not to get discouraged, and remember its only weight. you put it on, you take it off, but its you inside that truly matters. remember that you are beautiful inside, ok? don't be hard on yourself. if anyone says things to you that make you feel bad, remember they may look ok on the outside, but they've just shown you how truly ugly they are. you're better than that and more beautiful than they'll ever be.

when i used to work out to the video tapes, i remember this one warm up, the woman goes, you've already done the hardest part of the video by putting your work out clothes and putting this tape in. that's the hardest part for most people just doing it. remember even if you struggle through the workout, by just doing it, you've already overcome the biggest challenge most people have. that one statement kept me motivated, and every day i got up, got ready, and put the video in, i already felt i'd accomplished the goal.

you know what... after a short bit, that paid off :)

you'll make it :flowers:

That's right! You went straight to the core of it, Friend. Never forget it!

Like I said in my PM Thriller_MJ there is not a good meal plan that you can just fallow.. Everyone is built different and these 'fad' plans that we call them are come and go... If they WORKED the whole world would fallow it..

Depending on personal fitness, weight, hight, body fat percentage the intake of Protien, Fat, and Carbs will vary VERY MUCH.... It will be UNHEALTHY to do it any other way.. TRUST me I made some bad mistakes in the beginning..

Simply put try to have a SEMI low carb intake, low fat, and HIGH protien.. You while losing weight should be having roughly 1 gram of protien for every body pound that you are.. (that's on average)

You need that protien, so while you are losing weight, that WEIGHT wont be mostly MUSCLE.. The body finds MUSCLE more nutritious than fat so it will want to eat that BEFORE fat.. So you need to counter that.. Don't forget about EGG WHITES.

Have a lot of lean meats.. Though I don't like eating a lot of TV DINNERS because they are processed.. If you are going to eat them 'South Beach' has some good ones.. If you are going to eat out somewhere like Denny's or Chillies, they both have good 'grilled chicken' plates that are good for you as long as you chose HEALTHY sides like vegies..

You'll have to get used to buying and cooking lean meats.. You can eat many of the same things you do now, just cut out some carbs and a lot of fat.. You can still eat burgers, as long as you use very lean meats and little bread.. You can still eat A LOT of things.. You just have to learn to subsitute to simular things that are healthier..

You'll need to eat several small meals a day.. 4-6 meals..

Your body can only use so many calories at one sitting.. If you eat 3 meals of a large amount of calories your body will turn that unused calories to fat..

The world calorie MEANS energy.. So if you don't USE it, it will turn to fat..

Hear is an example of what I traditionally eat..

Mean 1:
4 egg whites w/ turkey
1 piece of toast
1 bannana (work out days) .. Oatmean (non work out days)

Meal 2:
Protien shake
peanut butter jelly toast / some lean chicken nuggets
something..

Meal 3:
Ground turkey made in different ways.. Or skinless check breast
Some sort of side that has carbs and low fat. Like brown rice

Meal 4:
Same as Meal 2

Meal 5:
Same as Meal 2 and 4 OR Tuna sandwich w/ might mirical whip..

Meal 6:
Same as meal 3

Now this does very and change up... Depending if I am sick of something, or a subsitute something for something else with simular nutrition values.. I am just giving an example..

Each meal should be 2-4 hours apart for that is how long it takes to digest a meal... I usually go about 2.5 - 3 hours..

Kopv, where are your veggies and fruits in there? Just wondered if you overlooked them and forgot about them or you just don't eat them.

I'm guessing, you work out quite a bit going by your diet?
Egg whites.. Protein shake.. Builds muscle if you lift weights, right?
peanut butter jelly toast?

"Run Forest ruuuun!!"

Sounds like a lot of 'heavy' food to take in, unless you wanna take up residence in a gym, working your butt off.
Alright. Go on. Tell me off ;D

veggies are in there.. I did not type up full detail.. For example what is in and on my ground turkey or chicken breast plate.. It's all in there..

Fruites, I limit on though, SUGARS.. I just have the bannana in the morning and little pieces of fruite either along side 2nd,3rd,4th meal..

One meal 2.. when I wrote 'something' that is usually veggies/fruite.. But it changes all the time, that's why I wrote Something, instead of actuall thing I eat..

And for coys question, ya I lift weights often.. I am gaining muscle, but not weight.. (I'm a dancer, I need to stay semi light) I exchange the fat for the muscle ;) I eat the exact calorie amount I need for mantain my weight but push that fat out of my body.. So I lose X number of fat while I gain X number of muscle..

Protien in general is the most UNDER USED substance in our diets.. If we all exchange protien for some of the fat and carbs we eat.. It would do wonders.. From diabetes, obesity, heart failure etc.. Protien aids in preventing a lot of that.. But of course TOO much of a good thing is bad too.. Have to watch it.. Some pro bodybuilders kill themselves with Protien.. But how much WE as normal people LACK in protien, we don't have to worry.. lol!

And what I eat is not TOO high calorie, I mean I don't gain weight.. so... that says enough in itself.. But if I go further into detale it would make a bit more sence.. The oatmeal I have.. Sugar free.. Peanut Butter, Jelly sugar free or low sugar.. Egg whites are very low in calorie, they're just pure protien basically. I get a lot of low carb, low fat, low sugar stuff which LOWERS the calories..

Sugar is the most complex carb.. Sugar is a carb.. Some types of sugar is good for us, and in limitations.. But the processed sugar in foods we buy is USUALLY BAD.........................

I'm just lowering my body fat, while keeping the same weight.. It's a tricky thing.. Once I reach 6% body fat (my goal) my diet will change and ulter again...

Great tips from both KOPV and Coy. I would do weight training with KOPV's plan. Get yourself a dumbell set in a fitness shop or even argos. There are so many exercises you can do with them in your own bedroom and its a great way of replacing fat with muscle

Check out www.sparkpeople.com Its a great site with lots of info on healthy eating, you can create your own meal plan very easily, get tips on exercise and demostration videos, they have a forum too. And its all FREE

Sounds like you know what you're doing KOPV:)
I was just feeling uneasy, (not having all the info.), thinking that someone, who wants to slim down, might try the same diet. Just reading it as is.
It's clear that you have the knowledge and experience to make it work for you, as you use your body a great deal.
But for someone starting out, I would think their diet should be different?
Simple, easy to understand and apply. Light 'in between meals'.
Not eating more than you intent on working off in a gym.

I'm sure, you can explain it a lot better.

Just to clarify: When KOPV says, you can eat burgers, he doesn't mean, you can go eat at Burger King, McDonalds or similar. Those burgers are FAT/grease bombs from Hell lol. Stay clear of those.

Two things you can't escape, if you want to lose weight and keep it off:

- Healthy foods
- Lots and lots of Cardio workout. That means running, using a cross trainer, jump rope, bike rides, long walks, dancing. Whatever gets your heart pumping faster. Gets your pulse up.
