I hope you all have a lovely week.
Here is today's news thread :D

Michael Jackson News:

Lots of news groups are circulating the speculative news that MJ could be doing a Vegas show... and did someone say Oprah?

Jackson May Head to Las Vegas Strip

Compiled by STEVEN McELROY
Published: June 16, 2008
Michael Jackson, below, may be next to follow the well-worn trail of pop star footsteps that leads to the Las Vegas strip, where Celine Dion, Elton John and others have taken up residence at various times. Mr. Jackson, who has had a seemingly endless series of financial troubles over the past few years, including a recent threat of foreclosure at his Neverland Ranch in California, is considering a long term Las Vegas engagement as part of a plan to repay a $23 million debt to Colony Capital, the private equity group that recently bought the loan on Neverland, Reuters reported. Colony owns the Las Vegas Hilton, and is a major shareholder in the Station Casinos chain. There is no deal yet and the possible Las Vegas engagement is one of several repayment options Mr. Jackson and Colony are considering. Mr. Jackson, who was acquitted of child molestation charges in 2005, has been reclusive ever since (O.K., before too), living in Ireland, Dubai and Bahrain at various times. He is now reportedly living in Pahrump, Nev., about 60 miles from Las Vegas.

Michael Jackson Looks To Vegas To Revive Career?
By Njai Joszor
Posted on 06/15/08

According to recent reports Michael Jackson may be close to a 180-night run in Las Vegas.

The investment firm that recently bought the loan on Jackson’s Neverland Ranch, Colony Capital is discussing various repayment options for the $23 million debt, including a possible long-term engagement as the resident performer of a Vegas casino or nightclub, a source familiar with the talks said on Friday to help the star avert foreclosure.

Bringing Jackson to Sin City as a performer would mark the biggest step the 49-year-old performer has taken toward a comeback since a child molestation trial left his career, his reputation and financial status in tatters three years ago.

According to a recent Wall Street Journal report, Colony also is urging the singer to sell off Neverland as quickly as possible and to emerge from seclusion in Nevada to launch a career comeback in Vegas, the Journal said.

Colony is also pressing Jackson to go on TV, perhaps on Oprah Winfrey's show, to make a public statement putting the Neverland Ranch and the controversy connected with it behind him, and to perform in a TV special proving to the world that he can still sing and dance.

The marble conversation pit of a reception area alone was a veritable hall of contemporary sculpture fame: Charles Ray’s giant woman in a blue dress, a Robert Gober drain, Koons’s Michael Jackson and Bubbles, and one of his “Equilibrium” tanks, the work that made Joannou so crazy for young art in the first place.

In the michael jackosn HIStory did he really try buying those bones in 87 cos i thought that was false?
It is false. I do think someone from Michael's camp (some people including Michael's mother said it was frank D) wanted Michael to be betrayed as "strange" in order to keep the mystic about Michael and he put this rumor out even the hyper chamber.

If Michael want to perform Vegas, I am all for it. He should do what he wants. Prince, Celion, Toni, etc did it so can MIchael.

Rumour or not, as long as they keep up with the 'Mr Jackson' they can speculate all they want. Michael denied the bones rumour, he laughed and said 'what would I do with a bunch of bones' lol.
Thanks for the news L.J.

But what is strange about buying some bones anyway. The bones are in th museum, so they are of value. if MJ made an enquiry concerning the bones, why is it even news worthy. I am sure MJ would not have been the first person to make enquiries about it. Had it been anyone else, it would have just been treated as such and then end. They talk about the bones as if MJ was trying to rob the museum.
He may have made an enquiry and the museum said they are not for sale. End of story. I see nothing strange in that at all.;
I cannot understand for the life of me, why it is considered an issue at all.

What I read at one time and will consider the truth until I hear something more logical is that he went to see them, not buy them. I have also read that the rumor about buying them was given to the tabloids by his manager. The two things are not mutually exclusive so that may be true as well. The last thing I would believe is that he actually tried to or wanted to buy them.

I have no difficulty believing either story. MJ is interested in the human anatomy, he is quirky that way. I actually believe that MJ may have been a doctor or some scientist if he wasn't a musician. He loves that sort of thing.
What I really find extra-ordinary is that the media and even fans would make that news and find it bizaar. Why? why is it any stranger than someone having stuffed animals in their cabin? Why is it even news at all. It is almost as it ordinary things become extra-ordinary when Michael Jackson does it. The whole concept that he did something crazy by making enquiries about the bones is in itself CRAZY
I would like to say that there are certain factions in the media that are absolutely bunkers over Michael Jackson and they don't even know it.:(

Nothing wrong with the Vegas gig...but...Oprah...????? as too faced as she has been towards Mr.Jackson...I would NOT give Oprah (putting it mildly)...the sweat off my brow..!

Thanks for the newa, L.J. :flowers:Happy birthday to everyone that id having a birhday this week. :D :flowers:

I don't believe Mike would ever sign a 180-night deal.

He likes to be free, so I don't think this is true.

When I read the first title, I though it said: "Michael wants to strip"  Imagine that

Thanks for the news, Linda ^_^ :D

I just think its the fact that, whatever Michael did, got reported, he was all the hype back then. Plus Joseph Merrick is a piece of English folk lore, his story is full of sadness and the news of an American trying to buy his remains from The Royal London Hospital, would have caused a stir in the tabloids anyhow
