Sorry, it just makes me mad. I like keeping up with Michael, also, but his musical and public life are one thing, and his private life and private matters are quite another. I know it's difficult to separate the two when his life is so public, but there's certain things that are just none of our business, you know? I wouldn't want everyone looking up all my real estate details and doctor details. There's a thing called confidentiality, and even if Michael is able to get that kind of agreement from the people he does business with, it ends up NOT being confidential, anyway because of paparazzi and snoopers. How in the world is that being very respectful?

I'm not trying to point fingers or anything. Not trying to be rude. Just stating something that is a huge issue. If we truly respect his privacy then we will just leave certain things ALONE. I'm guilty, myself, I know. But I've been doing some re-examination of how I relate to Michael in respect to his music, his life, and his privacy. I've had to take a step back and really look. There's that whole golden rule thing, you know? It really applies to everyone. Celebrities are NOT exempt from us treating them how we would want to be treated.

And I will also say, this is a moderated board, and so sorry, but you are not the gate-keeper of Michael's world even though your good intentions are noted. I fully understand that you have your ideas and opinions and those are respected, for sure. I would like to ask you to draw the line at telling OTHER people what to do, with all due respect? Others are due their opinions, just as you are.

Then you know what? Those with issues with this thread should SKIP it. This user was asked to post their news bits by the admins. I'm removing the gripes and if you all have a problem with it contact an admin.

Updates in the Syl Johnson Case

Michael Jackson and some other defendants has a new attorney in the case, since the old one left his former company, Jenner & Block LLP.

A status hearing / telephone conference held on 12/30/08 before the Honorable Marvin E. Aspen Judge.

If the parties can not agree on a settlement, the parties are to file with the Court a joint detailed discovery plan, with a courtesy copy to Chambers.

Next hearing: 2/17/09

It's in relation to "Blood on the Dance Floor" which allegedly samples one of his tracks without permission--although the only version of this track which appears to sample his work at all is the Refugee Camp Mix (produced by Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel) yet they weren't even named as defendants nor was this specific remix mentioned...he filed this suit against a bunch of other artists including Tupac Shakur (estate of) for a variety of songs that he claims use his sample without permission or compensation. It only took him an entire decade after the remix was released to file such a suit :unsure:.

Re: 2Seas, their Web site changed within 1-2 weeks after the lawsuit was settled. I don't care what happens with it, all I hope is that as part of the confidential settlement Michael didn't agree to be any part of that non-existent company at any point in the future. When news first broke that he was going to record the Katrina single on that label (soon after the trial) the site underwent a similar "coming soon" transition from its original state. Then it promoted the single and "company" with a flashy animation, and then when things fell apart it all went away and remained as such for a couple years. Now it looks like they'll be bringing it back in one form or another.

I noticed that too right when this lawsuit first came out over a year ago. It makes me suspicious and generally mad that people wait years to complain about stuff like this. It gives off a very bad whiff that something's fishy (to me). Seriously, I wouldn't wait for 10 years to drag somebody into court if I felt I had been ripped off. I would have been all up in that mix from the start trying to get my due. Was this guy just sitting back all that time? Alot of these songs he's griping about have been out for years. And they've been everywhere. To me, something isn't right about this case.

Well it looks to me like he has good legal representation and they are doing a complete cleanup, starting with the critical things (suits against him) and then working their way down the list. You can't eat an elephant in one sitting.

The school has a Web site, but their contact form does not work and has not forever. I've tried to contact them about this some time back, but I feel that they'd listen more carefully if the person (or group of people) contacting them are actually from the area and not from distant states. The cover was never meant to be permanent, at least two high up people from the district said as much when they so quickly covered it up in November 2003.

Stephanie Brady (District Spokeswoman) said that they would cover it "for the time being" until the case was over, while implying that it would be removed if he was exonerated. Celia Ripke (Principal) echoed similar remarks, and that she felt Michael was innocent until proven guilty.

To whom it may concern; I am writing to inquire about the "Michael Jackson Auditorium" at your school, which was dedicated in October 1989. In November 2003, the school covered Michael Jackson's name on the building due to the then pending allegations against him. Stephanie Brady (the district spokesperson) was quoted at the time as saying that his name would be covered up "for the time being" until the case was concluded. It was suggested by both Ms. Brady and Principle Celia Ripke that they believed in "innocent until proven guilty" and if Michael Jackson were acquitted, as he ultimately was, the title would be restored. Years have gone by and still the auditorium is covered up. I am writing to ask what the status of this issue is, and if there are any considerations to remove the cover over his name or why it is still covered? The family that accused Michael Jackson in 2003 admitted to having lied under oath in the past for financial gain, the mother was subsequently convicted of multiple counts of welfare fraud and perjury, and Michael Jackson was acquitted on all charges. Another Sign?

AEG Live just signed the ultimate Michal Jackson tribute band "Who'a Bad".

The company announced today that they will organise an event for the band at the Blue Bird Theater (owned by AEG) on March 20, 2009.

As well did you notice that AEG Live is a sponsor of this years' MusiCares event along with Jackson?

and fan who posts on the french boards mentioned AEG as the ppl to look for when/if a tour is annouced aswell. but i dont think the above really says anything one way or the other. its hardly some solid evidence.i guess we are desperate so grap at anything

Live Nation's where it's all at today, they've gained a lot of ground. their only big disadvantage is The O2.

they won't uncover it. plain and simple but u guys can try to petition all u want. it's up to the parents and even if these crop of parents allow it, someone will come in and spoil it in a yr or so. it's pointless IMO

when i see those pictures, tears running down my eyes.... its so sad what happend to never neverland.... i cant believe what one single person called DS could have done to michael.... its sad... really sad... but i absolutely understand Michael`s decision... but it HURTS! :-(

Sad to actually see this auction.

The end of an era. I always wished Mike would have let Neverland remain and open it to the fans. Elvis' fans have Graceland. We have an auction!

Mike without Neverland is like Walt without Disney.
