Gloom & Doom. This non-tribute has 5 things going against it:

1) International bad press
2) High ticket price
3) line up
4) The Jackson's family disastrous history
5) Lack of estate & fans & media support + Murray Trial

Don't underestimate the impact of constant & persistent bad press.

ETA Have the fans not reach out to the media & voice very loudly our opposition to the tribute, I think MJ's name would have taken a beating. I am glad we didn't just moan on fan boards, we took our opposition public, and at the same time this will save MJ's name of public embarrassment when this farce is finally cancelled.

The fact that major news org from AP to New York Times interviewed fans really drove home the point that MJ fans do not support this non-tribute.

A few years from now, we will turn back & realize this was a defining moment in Michael Jackson's post death career. When fans really took a gamble to protect MJ's name & legacy, against his very family.


On the other end, the Jacksons might on to their very last schemes. I think that is one reason they are fighting us & still holding on, they know this might be their last chance to undermine Michael's estate & hijack MJ's legacy.

They are not going out without a fight. So be it...it will make victory sweeter.

And sooner or later, we might have to address the kids (now that Prince is back on Twitter) to explain why fans are not supporting the non-tribute and make them understand this is absolutely not a reflection of MJ's popularity. They want to drag the kids in their fight...we might not have a choice, but addressing the children. Sad because MJ wanted his kids away from this type of mess...but today, Taj showed us MJ's kids aren't off limit & once again, trampled on MJ's wishes for his children.

And to think some wanted taj on the board of executors.at the end of the day hes s jackson and they seem to be all the same.

and wow doesnt take long for some fans to think no one cares about mj anymore cause of this mess..theres one born every minute i guess.as the facts are clearly there as to why this has failed yet the cirque show and even tributes like thriller live are going from strength to strength

Elusive, I was one of those who was in 3T's corner. I never wanted any Jackson on the Estate Board (except the kids), but, After MJ passed, knowing the Jacksons' long history of shadiness, I thought 3T would step up & protect the children. If not for the kids themselves, for Michael, as a tribute to everything he did for them, when their own father wasn't caring for them.


I remember on or around MJ's 51st bday, I tweeted Taj thanking him for supporting the children. And he replied, they would make MJ proud by looking up for his children the same way he did for them.

So obviously, I (and many others) were duped. And again, I wonder if MJ is not hard at work helping expose the ugliness & greed that fuel the Jacksons.

I really am dissapointed ...And I am convinced, so is Michael, wherever he is looking down at his family using his beloved children from schemes to schemes; from porno producer to Oprah, from stalker to scammers.

The way Taj tweets about MJ & his influence, you'd think he didn't have a mother or father, but now I realize it's all to impress fans. He obviously puts MJ, above his beloved mother and definitely his father, but I think it's all part of the scheme, showing fans how close they were to MJ. He doesn't talk about his father half as much as his uncle, because Tito's name has no leverage.

I remember crying when I saw 3t go onstage with the kids to collect the Grammy award. I thought they would be their support and protection in years to come. Boy couldn't I be more wrong.

Let me get this clear, Taj said it's fine if you don't want to go or don't want to watch the tribute but at the same time it's wrong to boycott it? Isn't that very similar to one another, difference being that with a boycott you just express out loud why you're not going? So it's fine if we don't go but keep it quiet basically?

And talking about the boards like that yet saying at the same time he is not attacking fans?
You know I'm starting to worry about that now. Can you imagine if the children get told these lies about the fanboards? I don't even want to think how that could play out in the future...
I just don't understand why the family seems to have no problem turning on Michael's fans like this. Don't they realize this is not how we want things to be as well but that we feel we don't have a choice? We would love to sit back and enjoy Michael but from every angle we see lies and scams being spread. That we feel we are standing up for Michael not just doing this for a love of conspiracy/ picking fights? Honestly they don't seem to understand us at all.
You would think someone like Taj would get it at least a bit since he got to see some of it while on tour with Michael but so far it looks like they just pick their favorites amongst the fans and the others are just "controlled by others''.

I am SO dissapointed with the Jackson Family right now, I can't even express it. Using the children to make fans feel guilty. Call me naive but I never thought that day would come or at least not so quickly. I just don't want them to turn the kids against us, the fans and this fansite. And to think none of this would be happening if Michael was still here. Breaks my heart really...

@memefan yeah i thought taj etc were one of the good guys so to speak.after folowing them since the mid 90's but i guess we have all been proved wrong

Honestly I would hope he didn't mean this board but you can't say something general like that and not have the people who have been targeted with rumors like this before not take offense..If he feels strongly about it he should just come out and say which board he meant then. Otherwise he shouldn't have mentioned it in the first place because all it's doing is creating anger and fighting between fans and the family. For no real reason at all.

The mess that this concert is has no reflection on MJ’s popularity, but the mess that this concert is.

Cirque sold 200,000 tickets in 24 hours. International box office or not, Cirque is already proving to be a success. I couldn't even get the seats I wanted for it in my city in pre-sale.

Global just blew it. They lied about the caliber of artists they implied they already had committed and immediately became seen as charlatans, and the concert a sham and money grab. They’ve done nothing subsequently to regain trust or great interest, but in fact made one additional goof after another. And Christina, and the other acts, at the price they were originally charging weren’t going to do it for getting 75,000 people in Cardiff.

Perhaps, the tickets will now begin to sell at the lower cost. Who knows? The only promise Global has kept is that this concert will be talked about for years to come, but not as some glorious extravaganza, but for its controversies and being a BIG MESS!!!

P.S. Fans on message boards may be an insignificant number. But word of mouth is apparently what Global was counting on because other than a couple of press conferences, they didn’t do a lot of promoting. Yet still, they arrogantly boasted the tickets would “sell quickly, very quickly.” If they hadn’t been liars and so inconsistent with every single detail of this thing, word of mouth would have created a sell out (I believe even in spite of the timing). Unfortunately, all the word of mouth has been bad.

Shows u what he is all about, I was totally for Taj two years ago, I really thought they'd be there to protect Michael's kids, but I was wrong, soo wrong. I only had an issue when it was mentioned that Taj should get a saying when it comes to Estate handlings, I remember people getting pissed off at me then for opposing the idea, but then again throughout the past two years I've even received warnings/infractions for ''LOL'ing'' at the Jackson's, kinda ironic to see I was right about certain people/things all along even back in late 2009 when those who saw through the Jackson's were a minority on discussion boards.

awful odd that the children didnt have a bad impression about the fans when their father was alive. THEY have turned the children against the fans...THEY are the ones that speak badly about us because we wont LET THEM destroy what Michael took years to build....we challenge THEM at every turn and THEY cannot stand it. They want US to get out of their way...and we wont. SO it is THEM that has tuned those children against the fans,,,but ya know what they will NOT be children forever and someday...they WILL be told the truth about that entire disgusting bunch of leeches. The children KNOW how much we the fans ment to their father,,,,and vice vesa So please dont think we will stay out of ANYTHING that the Jacksons try to do to destroy Michael's name. Make no mistake.....we were MJ fans in life....and WE CONTINUE to be MJ fans in death. WE Will continue to stand by HIM and HIM only...the rest of that family can take a flying leap off a short bridge.

Most excellent point. MJ went on and on about his love for his fans. And now the fans are a bad thing. It's very sad how things have developed in just two short years.

I feel so sad about this fiasco now. Cannot believe fans are being blamed for poor ticket sales. Jackson family please realise we are against this because it is not the high quality, first class event that Michael is deserving of. Second rate at best and a con into the bargain. Sickened.

The moment Taj brought up that fans not supporting the concert was hurtful to Michael's kids that were excited about it, they used the kids. Just like their grandmom, they used the kids for emotional blackmail. Which is low since as kids they don't have much choice in what they chose to support.

However I myself am not blinded to their greed. I think it is time for YOU to take off the rose colored glasses. It is obvious that MJ's world with his family was NOT rose colored AT ALL. THEY have already tarnished themselves since June 25th. THEY dont need ME to do it for them. As far as tarnishing MJ fans?? We will ALWAYS have MJ's back...even when the family continues to stab him in it. WE are the ones that ALWAYS comes to his defense in HIS time of need..NOT THEM...I think the trash that they have done in the last 2 years speaks for itself.

God! and who made this happened?? It's Jackson family members. 2 years ago, most people respect them and even love them because they are Jacksons. Who is creating conflicts???? It's the Jacksons. Steps by Steps. Every time, they had a new project coming out, I would tried to convinced myself, it's not a big deal. It's understandable since they don't control the estate. The family had their own reason to do that, etc. However, enough is enough. God, I am so tired and sick of this. and they kept blaming everyone else but themselves. The truth is fans just don't get so outrages suddenly without any reason. We gave them chances again and again and again. and now they are saying the fan board is controlled by "someone". People who can't deal with all these anymore are someone's puppy dog? Jesus.............even till yesterday, I still think I can understand where Taj's anger from that fans should really not go there can call out KJ. but all his comments in these 2 days, just really pissed me off. One by one, they just keep me feel more and more disappointed.

Of course they have every right to honor their family members. However, why can't they do it with dignity???? Why can't they try to work with the estate? Why can't they wait until Murray's trial is finished? Why so urgent? Why can't they find some experienced promoter? not someone who doesn't even know how to use google or have any understanding of MJ? Why can't they stop dragging his kids into the business? Why can't they stop playing the PPB card? If the tribute cause so much trouble and argument and debates in so many fan board, where is love????? I just so a big money sign. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Everything for money. SIGH~

Of course this shit hole of a tribute in desired by his family....its gonna put money in ALL of their greedy little hands. If it was done for love...then they would of First got it backed by the estate...and second they would of MADE SURE that the entertainers being asked to participate...actually LOVED AND RESPECTED Michael. Then we would be able to say that it was done for the RIGHT reasons..all we have seen so far is greed...a way to make money OFF THE NAME MJ. THAT is what this thing is built on greed.

Seriously, where was Taj when folks were out there abusing the name of his uncle?

From the very beginning, when it was announced that Michael had died, there was Brian Oxman running his mouth with not one shred of evidence to back up all of the nonsense he was spewing. Then came Deepak, Leonard Rowe, Arnold Klein, Arnold's side-kick, The Rabbi, and so on and so forth. ALL of those folks came and went, but all we heard were CRICKETS from Mr. Taj Jackson.

Now all of a sudden, there is a chance for 3T to get some shine and Taj is all over it. LOL!

I would be able to muster some respect for him had he been vocal when it REALLY counted. NOT when it suits a possible return to the stage. Which just like his Uncle Jermaine, he apparently wants very, VERY badly.

Not on my dime homeboy. Sorry!

What a dreadful mess! I think we all knew the concert would be a disaster, but now it's like a full on war! Katherine, Taj, Latoya on one side, Jermaine and Randy on another, Janet on yet another, the fans on another etc..

As much as we've lost all respect for the family, it's painfully clear to me that the kids will always support them (they seem to be very naive about past events, as it should be given their age). But the more fans try to turn them against the family, the more it is going to backfire.

Let's just hope this concert is cancelled and someone respectable in the music industry decides to wait until the right moment and plan it properly.
