Michael - The Great Album Debate

I honestly think they made a mistake, a big one, and they realized it too late. So all they can do is putting everything under the rug to preserve their credibility.

They were so desperate to have new MJ material that they weren't as vigilent as they should have been.

I honestly think you don't think.

A little off topic here but am i the only who finds it really insulting that they used Thriller era MJ for the cover art of the Michael album? I know that they were trying to appeal more to the general public and the Thriller era is usually the era that the general public thinks the most positively about MJ, but i didn't like it.

They had 12 songs from the Cascio, they should have released them all on the same album. But no, they decided to dissolve them among MJ's genuine songs. It's been a big fail.

LOL@Chamife love that pic.

I rly cant imagine Sony falling for this either. After how many releases do theyfall in this trap, and whos. My biggest problem now is that they have to scrap this shitty album off of MJ's discography its a shame shame shame.
How far some may go for $,dammnit..

The estate owe it to MJ to come clean and disown these 12 tracks. They'll never have my full support unless they do.

I'd say the easiest way is to issue a statement on the official website. And Eddie needs to come forward as well and apologize; after all, he's the one who recorded the tracks.

Been paying closely attention to MJ's accent the recent weeks while listening to MJ everyday. Mind blown at people not noticing how off the accent is in the Cascio songs. I notice it so easily and I'm from Norway
I'm an American, but my husband is German. He was at work when BN first premiered online and I had to deal with that unfreakingbelievable shock by myself. I seriously thought it had to be a hoax! I texted hubby with about a thousand exclamation marks: "It's NOT Michael! Omg, wtf?!!!!!!!!" When he got home, you have to understand that he was thinking "huh???" and that he'd have to listen quite closely to discern if I was crazy or not. Nope! He put the headphones on, the music played, and in the first line of vocals he literally THREW the headphones onto the desk :bugeyed and gasped, "Who the hell is THAT?!" ... I'm like, EXACTLY. He heard it right away too, despite not being a native English speaker. And obviously, from the number of Americans, Canadians, Brits, etc who actually think it's Michael:doh:, it's pretty clear that accent isn't the issue to many ears. (Although I do admit that the majority of German fans seem to think it's Michael. But not all.)

I'm not saying the tracks are fakes just to troll and cause trouble. I'm saying they are fake because i care about Michael's legacy and to see these fake tracks lumped in with his official music collection is disgusting.
Besides being called a troll, what's really insulting is the insinuation that we "only believe they're fake because the Jacksons said so", like you have to be pro-Jacksons/anti-Estate to hear that it's not Michael Jackson singing. Umm, no. I have friends who will occasionally post KYHU or some random kinda-sounds-like-MJ-if-you-don't-know-what-he-sounds-like "unreleased song" and I swear, it takes me everything I have inside to not just freak the heck out. And yes, to them WE are the crazy ones for being able to tell Michael Jackson from a bad impersonator. I still cannot fathom that this has actually happened. See, that's why I stay away from this dang thread, lol... I get so angry just thinking about it! It's total disrespect of Michael's legacy and his artistic integrity. Unconscionable. You'd think that after everything else had been poked at, dragged through the mud and whatever else that we'd still have the MUSIC. But somehow, beyond all belief, they even managed to get to that. :poke:

Sometimes I wonder if I put a random stranger on the phone and handed the receiver to some people, telling them it's their own mother, would they believe it? What if they could tell it wasn't their mother, but I claimed that a couple of attorneys, a major corporation and an unnamed "expert in voiceprint analysis" had verified it was their mother... ? Would they just go along with it then? If not, then I guess they'd feel how we feel about the Cascio tracks, huh?! :wild:

Yep. And that's truly sad to have to feel this way. As a fan community I feel we missed a golden opportunity to fight for Michael and the truth in November 2010. :( I pray that someday, somehow, someone will come forward and officially confess. But until then... uh ...

I hope Eddie Cascio will apologize, admit that the 12 songs he recorded weren't sung by Michael and tell the whole true story behind the music. He including the Estate and the ones involved with the songs can't go on like this forever, they have to say something. I read on Twitter some weeks ago that Teddy Riley was gonna be able to talk very soon. Stuart Brawley said on Twitter that he was gonna write a long statement about the Michael album and the Cascio tracks and tell it's Mike singing but did he do that? No. I hope one beautiful day, somebody will be able to tell the truth and end this controversy for good.

Superb post. We've been treated like outcasts and crazies even though we are the ones who are now clearly right on this as the leaks have proved. There will come a time when we will be redeemed and the truth about the songs will come out. Then a lot of fans will have some serious soul searching to do.

I'm from Latvia and I can't tell differences in main American accents (re MJ vs Malachi). I don't think its even necessary. You can hear clearly the obvious anyway.

^but you certainly can make or atleast notice a difference of how Michael pronouces certain words, cant you?

Not really. It's not my native language and here I don't speak it. Let me be as ignorant and blunt as I can be. He sounds like American to me, just like any other Americans lol. I can only notice really vast differences in accents like British vs American.

Lol, that's how I feel about German. They can hear all the differences in their thousand and one regional dialects, but to me it all just sounds like German.

I see. You should really try to catch some of the differences, cause you know, its not only the accent. sometimes people in the same area with the same accent say a word differentely because theyve been saying since they were little for example. Michael has these too. its real fun :p

Main difference is that Michael made a song 'flow'. Everything was right. He adapted words, tonations and maybe even pronouncation for the sake of the experience of the song. He made you feel the song. It had to 'flow'. Nothing should stand in between the experience of the song.

And with the Cascio songs it's one irritation after the other.

He had an enormous musicality and love for music.

To me that's the most noticable difference.

*and of course his teeth were different then the singer of the Cascio songs, hehehe..*

Yes, his teeth outgrew randomly because of his sickness, so all of sudden his sibilant consonants sounded different.
:D

People who say it's MJ on the songs might not just have tried to really, really notice MJs accent and how he pronounces words in his songs. Do this for a whole week while listening to his songs and you will notice how MJ pronounces letters and words very, very differently compared to the Cascio songs. And if you do the same with the Cascio songs and Jason songs (good luck, I did that), you notice that they both have the same accent and way of pronouncing words.

I think the biggest difference is that Michael was a world class, highly skilled, legendary vocalist with a beautiful voice, while the Cascio singer... just isn't a very good singer at all. To put it nicely.

I mean, just listen to B2N, song is catchy and all, but it's more like a joke, a parody,

It would have been easier for those who believes it's MJ on the Cascio tracks to hear the acapella versions of the songs. If they were to leak now, every believer would finally realize it's NOT Michael Jackson at all.

Oh yes, in all songs, just mentioned B2N because that one along with BN are among the most absurd songs. the songs are just a joke. I mean, go ahead and play B2N right now. Right as the song starts after the woman voice "Michael Jackson" comes squeeling in like a dying cat "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA................HEEEEEEEEEEE EEHEJEJ EJEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEE" then starts singing like he has never ever sung before, with bad rhyming, vibrato, yelping, voice sounding like a young white man, etc. Maaaaaaaaaaaan, this shit will never stop bothering me. Chorus 1: HOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOO OOO...HAAAAAAAAA.AAAAAAAAA.AAAAAAAAAAAI _HAAAAAAAAAAAAA-A-AAAAAAAA-A-AAAAAAAA-IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

I've actually only heard BN once. The day it was released and I was rather disappointed. It's the only one I was quite sure from the first time I listened to it, that it wasn't MJ. But I have never heard B2N. In fact, I'm not even sure what that stands for.
