I've seen a few stories out there lately about Michael's bug love and thought to start a thread on it. It's so sweet to me that he was like that. They broke the mold after Michael came into this world. :)

When Michael Jackson had an audience with the Pope, he brought Seth Riggs his vocal coach along with him. While they were waiting to meet with his holiness in the outer chamber, a fly came into the room. It skillfully buzzed freely around them with a childlike freedom and Seth became so annoyed that he couldn’t take it anymore and killed it on the spot. With tears in his eyes Michael asked, “Why did you do that?!” Seth retorted, “It was just buzzing around here, getting on my nerves!” Michael answered him like a Zen master and said, “He was enjoying his freedom and living his life and you ended it!” From that day forward Seth understood and he took on a deeper appreciation for all life because of Michael’s compassion for a fly.

When it came time for a science project, Paris settled on studying snails. She enlisted Chase to help her find snails in the mansion's backyard. The pair carried large flashlights and found several of the slimy creatures and prepared to bring them inside. Jackson was waiting for them.

"At this point, I knew I was going to get fired," Chase recalled. The singer looked at the snails and had a different reaction — he helped make them a home.
The snails ended up in jars made cozier by moss in the bottom and tiny cocktail umbrellas. They lived on the kitchen counter, not far from other reminders of the children.

When in Ireland in 2007, he was witnessed rescuing beatles who were flipped on their backs and couldn't get back over, saying that everyone deserves the chance to live.

Any more bug stories out there?

I was only aware of the episode on stage :) but I knew he cared about all creatures, including the annoying :)

It's official michael is a saint.lol. I love this man so much. god bless his soul.

now michael has me feeling guilty about killing flies.lol.

Sometimes I wonder if this guy was even real. All these stories about him and the way he lived and the sings he said... it sounds like someone imagined a larger-than-life figure and we're all going along with the script. What a special, special man.

He was not like everybody else, this is sure. Otherwise he wouldn't have touched so many hearts...

I said it once and I'll say it again. he's everything that god wants us all to be. he's so humble, good, and forgiving. he loves everyone and everything.

Like they say, Michael was simply too good for this world.

I know. I squished a mosquito in my house yesterday (because they are always biting me), and I actually thought about Michael afterwards. Ha! I'm sorry Michael.

I killed a beetle on Sunday cause it was on my leg in my car and it scared the crap out of me. XD I felt bad after killing it though cause I knew Michael wouldn't have wanted it, but with me being allergic to bugs I couldn't risk touching it or anything. Ah... forgive me, Michael! >.

The bug was an MJ fan and decided to get a closer look and ended up being escorted off the stage LOL, God Bless you Michael ?
Let's hope at least that he had a good time on stage with Michael! XD XD

What are you saying? That the incident where Michael asked his bodyguard to remove the bug from the stage during the History tour performance didn't happen?

It was staged. There was no bug. It was reported in fanzines at the time that Michael did it at some other places as well. South Africa I think was another place it occurred.

Erm... just because he did it on some other stops doesn't mean it was staged and there were no bugs. Bugs are drawn by lights, especially bright stage lights. Jeesh.

So its very possible it happened in multiple locations.

Oh sorry, didnt mean to dismantle your thread. If you want to continue to believe it was real, no worries. Sorry I'm not quite sure what "jeesh" means therefore I can't respond to that.

I caught 5 spiders in my living room yesterday, all in a 15 minute timeframe (and all were escorted outside safely :cheeky: ). That's the kind of things that can happen more than once. Although if it was staged, then it still shows that Michael cared enough about bugs to want to send the message out to his fans that he wanted us to care about bugs.

Eh- so what if it was staged? If it was, I think then just shows his playful side. It's adorable :)

I agree. :) And look at us... we are now feeling guilty for killing any bugs because of his message. It was a nice suggestion (whether real or not).
