Prince and Paris Jackson attend a news conference in Gary, Indiana, part of the city's celebration of Michael Jackson's 54th birthday


Michael Jackson's kids are in Gary, Indiana Wednesday to help celebration the late singer's 54th birthday.
Fifteen-year-old Prince Jackson and his 14-year-old sister, Paris, did not have anything to say at a news conference, but posed for pictures after they were given "I Love Gary" t-shirts by Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson at the Majestic Star Casino.

A vigil was planned later Wednesday at the house at 2300 Jackson St. where the King of Pop, his siblings and their parents lived until 1969. In the days after Jackson's death, fans piled stuffed animals, flowers and photos outside the home.

Other events planned by the family in Gary include a dinner on Friday and a concert on Saturday.

Jackson's mother, Katherine, and another child, Blanket, were not present at the news conference.

Is Paris getting taller than Prince? Prince chewing gum like that reminds me of Michael.

Paris is beautiful..reminds me of LaToya...Prince chewing his gum reminds me of his dad. I miss you so much Michael..:(
 
She does look like latoya when she was younger by looking at that. Everyone says she looks like Debbie but she has traits from Michael's side of the family too. Prince chewing gum makes me laugh sorry. I keep seeing Michael doing the same thing lol.

I mean Michael was a bigger star and moved around Gary in 03, so what was the problem that made this situation a security problem. Was it that they did not have enough security? Then, all these issues should have been worked out before hand. These children were gathered in a room waiting for something to happen, so it was good that someone was able to fill in with the drawings.

Who knows... I hate saying that but fans are one of the reasons Michael had bodyguards, too...
Maybe someone was on a "God appointed mission to save his children" or other things like that- just reading some of the threads here make me think that some people might be even more unstable.

Or maybe one of the kids had an emotionally hard time with that and backed out - which would be okay.
Someone filled in. Kids love drawings, no biggie. I would be still a mess in public appearances honoring my dad... and I'm sure that's bittersweet for them.
Better than forced posing with belts and perfumes.

It's not like a NATO ceasefire or something... just a birthday celebration.

Michael Jackson's children are so much like him. The people of Gary are instinctly gathering around because they radiate LOVE. :wub:
