Gil Duldulao has danced on and choreographed Janet Jackson’s world tours. Now, he is paying tribute to her brother Michael Jackson with a SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA Top 20 group performance. Dance phenom Duldulao is the genius behind tomorrow night’s group number in honour of Michael Jackson in the first results show of the season, airing Wednesday, Aug. 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET on CTV (visit dance.ctv.ca to confirm local broadcast times).
Duldulao, who is from the island of Oahu, Hawaii, has also toured with Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Prince and Tina Turner, first began dancing with Janet Jackson when he was just 17. Now 30, Duldulao has worked with Jackson for the past 13 years, including as Creative Director. His choreography is seen in Jackson’s Rock Wit U and Feedback videos as well as many of her TV appearances, including numerous awards shows and on OPRAH, ELLEN and TODAY.
“Because of shows like SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, it’s important for all dancers to be able to do all styles of dance,” said Duldulao. “That’s what’s worked for me – training every day, learning and trying to perfect every style of dance.”
