My last post was blocked. Thread closed! Idk I'm not being disrespectful at all but hell no. Not a fan of that gimmick. It may work but I'm not buying that performance. Releasing music is on thing but having someone else pretend they are michael Jackson. No

Not only did the moves clearly not look like MJ, the face was not even close either. When I watched the 2pac hologram, there were a few minutes that were kinda spooky to me. That did not happen here. This was no different than watching an impersonator at a fan party.

Yass! The Tupac one worked because it looked SO much like him.
I mean, as much as a motion capture/CGI composite of a person CAN look like someone.

They closed the streaming thread since the stream is over, if that's what you mean.

I'm a bit torn about this honestly. Def didn't need another controversy and I'm sure the truth will be out soon enough (it appears it already has). All in all it was still pretty dope if you can manage to look past the flaws. Just goes to show NOTHING...CGI, impersonator....whatever....will EVER do like the real thing. So in the end its bittersweet as hell.

No... just NO!!

First of all, as soon as "MJ" appeared I said out loud "wtf".... It did not look like him at all. Sure IT had his style but thats about it.
Why was it "Dangerou Era" Michael? Couldn't they have made him look like he did in the last few years of his life?
It looked like they paid an impersonator to dance to the song, then put his image to dance on the stage. I don't believe that was a CGI image made from scratch.

I didn't like it. It was just another way for people to make $$$$$ off MJ just as they did when he was alive.

I wish they would have played the song, had dancers choreograph and perform to it while showing pictures of MJ on the big screen or video footage of him performing. That would have made me emotional and love it waaaaay better.

We all miss our MJ, and watching that performance just reminded me that we will never have anything to change that.

RIP MJ

I am impressed how fast it came up on Youtube in 1080p

Good quality available already.

Hope many casual and non fans will like the video - and the song most importantly!! :)

Im really curious about it I wanna know everything about it. I really thank them for making Virtual Michael. this experience is very different.

Utter crap, sorry but it was poor as hell. Nothing presented on that stage was MJ, the movements were bad, the CGI face was worse. I soooo wanted to feel this, I prepared myself to get upset, but feel angry now.

I don't care how many copies this album sells, I don't care how much fans can scream its good for Michael. there should be a balance, and there is not, Michael has been removed from every instance of this whole album and campaign, they used his voice but not his soul. what we have here folks is Michael being watered down to todays market, Michael never NEVER went cheap on his sound or music, he pushed the boundaries, I want to hear that Michael, I want his music finished the way he had planned it by the people he planned it with.

I can't believe the estate said "Yep, this'll work".

I know, right? I thought it was cringeworthy. Maybe they had contracted to do it and whatever they were going for fell through, so they had no choice but to use a look-alike.

Your idea of a performance would personally bore me and I wouldn't watch. :/

So they weren't ready for the performance according to the Facebook post?

I have mixed feelings about it. Well, it is not perfect. But it can't be either, he's not here. So I think that if it is something they just made out of nothing, it is pretty cool.

But then, if it is made from an impresonator's performance, not cool. lol

after the first seconds, when he was still sitting, i recognized it was a impersonator. and after the first moves it proves that feeling. the show itself was good. i want to see that in HD. i want to know how his head look like. but to use a impersonator... oh oh, not so good. only good for haters and controversy

I will say this, though.

It DID look like there were people on that screen.
Like, the camera they used to film and frame rate to display the huge projection could be used to create realistic live performances (in general. Not for MJ specifically).

Usher didn't look impressed and I bet many of us weren't either. No matter if the hologram didn't match the lyrics of the song, I prefered to see actual Michael footage.

I really, REALLY love it now that I saw it in HD.

I mean, YES, it could definitely be better. But damn, the remix of the song was better than the album version, the performance was simply epic and everyone there seemed to love it. Definitely cool, in my humble opinion!

They cheaped out, big time....this could have been pretty epic....

FAIL

If they use that... "thing" for music videos...

Let's all just forget this ever happened. You too estate.

What happened to the footage that they told us was new found footage that L.A. Reid found of Michael performing Slave to the Rhythm????? That's what they told us it would be.

I don't think there was any Michael in that performance at all.

I mean...I liked it *kanye shrug* it's just..eerie, ya know? I actually cried. All I'm gonna say is, if they EVER decide to use a hologram of Mike for a tour, they better not use this one :/ not hating or anything.

I stayed up sooo late to see this, all exited. After I've seen it I'm just tired.

Here in Denmark it's nearly 4 AM... - so not many hours of sleep to me.

Not sure if it was worth staying up for. - But the MJ exitement is still here. iHeart, songs released in the days leading up to the album release and now this.

SONY and The Estate really tries and does everything they can. - If this is the best technollogy can make it's all they could do really.

I sure respect they tried, and it sure did help promote Xscape - it's trending, it got a lot of talk - it makes many hear the song. - So really it makes a lot of good things.

BUT - as a MJ fan I feel a little sad and disappointed. - Also they hyped it to the skies. Maybe a little to much. :)

Hope it will help sales!! MJ deserves another #1 in the US !!

I liked the performance. Whether it was CGI/impersonator, it doesnt matter to me cuz it wil never be MJ live on stage. what i want is the live version to listen to over and over!

I had no expectations, so I wasn't disappointed. What did you all expect to see? Michael resurrected like Jesus, then bust a move on ya? The ONLY way we'll ever see Mike dance again is to watch his videos, watch his concerts and on YouTube.

When Luda and those other two introduced Michael Jackson, that's what we got: Michael Jackson, VOCALLY! That voice bumping through the sound system was MICHAEL JACKSON. That groove was MICHAEL JACKSON. The excitement it generated (even bringing some in the audience to tears) was MICHAEL JACKSON!

They could have just had a still pic of him on a huge screen draped in silk and just play the song and the results would have been the same: we heard Michael's voice again via music we haven't heard before. Michael is BACK and I for one am very happy about that.

PEACE!
