I'm going too buy an extra copy of the album for every moaner who says they are not going to, and distribute them as Xmas presents and gifts to charity shops. So there!

Edit: Just did a Shazam. Sounds a bit disjointed in places. Not bad. Not great. Might be a grower. Glad to see BOTDF get it's dues.

Is this person reliable? Seems weird to have two Jacksons songs on an MJ release and also no Is It Scary?

An app. Basically if you don't know what a song is, open the app, hit the button and it'll listen to the song then tell you what song it is, along with links to Spotify and Apple Music. VERY useful. It's built into Siri too ("Hey Siri, what song is this?").

If you shazam any Michael Jackson song on the Shazam app, it'll give you the name and a banner with the Michael Jackson 'Scream' graphics. Tap on it, it takes you to a page where you can listen to the new mashup (Track 14) on Vevo. I tried getting the Vevo link outside of the app and was successful, but they've blocked it so you can only play it through the app.

That's NZ currency, which is equivalent to $13.50USD. It's about the standard price of a new, single disc album here in New Zealand :)

Seems so, I reckon it's the soundtrack for the Halloween film (which might also be called 'Scream').

Track 14 is a mashup remix, I like it. Has a cool intro.

What I don't get is.. why do they release the -from the fans' point of view - only interesting/new thing on the album as promo? (if the other songs really are the original versions and not mixes as well)

Oh it's going to coincide with a movie? What movie is that? I thought it was a standalone release that they would release with Thriller 3D

Hopefully they have something else to add. Good songs of course but I have them all many times. Not impressed at all. Oh I know not about us lol!

I'm excited about this one. I realise nothing is new, I appreciate we are all, always wanting new material/footage/imagery etc. But it's just great to see people talking about Michael again. One thing this will do, as it covers a variety of decades and albums, is push new fans to find out more. It is what it is, nothing really to complain about as far as I see ?

Very weird they did not include Is It Scary.... Big mistake for a halloween themed album...

I tried to Shazam a MJ song - but I got no link for the megamix... - maybe it doesn't work in Denmark.

The album is not in the Danish iTunes stores yet...

I think I will buy this... - Especially if it is released as a CD - then I can copy it into my iTunes. I would like to have the physical album... I'm old that way... :)

Not interested. Honestly, is just a bunch of selected MJ songs in a different cover with a new remix that (as always) is inferior to fan created ones.
It's nice to get a new release always, and I hope it does well in sales and reaches new people, but for us fans, this is not good. We need new songs, new concerts, new studio footage... things we know they have but won't release it until we stop buying these silly collections.

Anyway, keep the faith, right?

Okay I gotcha! Well, I'm gonna be honest I'm not thrilled or/and surprised about this. This is the estate & Sony after all and given their track record this is the type of release you can expect from them, they all after all in this business to make money but that doesn't mean that they are immune to criticism and rightfully so. I don't like the fact that they seem to be neglecting the old fan base. They should cater to the new generation but do it tastefully while managing to still reach out the the hardcore fanbase who has supported Michael and his career since day 1. I will try to keep an open mind about this.
 
Ok, I know it ties in with the Thriller 3D and the Halloween animation, but the whole thing does seem a bit random to me. I guess I'm still disappointed after no Dangerous 25. (sigh)
Thoughts:
No bonus demos of the tracks or unreleased stuff is a shame, but oh well.
I DO like the megamix, it's interesting. The excessive "Aows" and "woos" seem oddly placed though.
I mostly like the concept of the artwork, but I feel it could look more distinctively like MJ. (No distinctive eyebrows or single curl of hair)
I like that "Unbreakable" and "Threatened" are getting love. But WHY, if this is a horror themed album, is "Is It Scary" left off, but "Leave Me Alone" is on?????

I wanna be on board with this.... there is a HUGE opportunity here to re-release the Making of Thriller and Ghosts as a blu ray alongside this album, like a special edition pack..... Sadly, I fear (knowing them) the estate will MISS this opportunity, which makes buying this a much less likely prospect for me.

There are going to be screenings of Ghosts:

These celebrations will take place in six major cities around the world: Paris, London, Sydney, Berlin, Los Angeles, and Tokyo.
