Album is allright! Full of melodies.. But the production is tooo thin.. That's because the combination of Bruce Swedien and Bernie Grundman is missing..

If you listen carefully, MJ's other albums were always in your face! And every instrument had it's place. Michaels voice had more body.. And the beats were extraordinary THICK.

In my opinion the mix and the mastering of this new album is lacking. It's too chaotic. Could be much better. Especially a song like Hollywood Tonight. I would have done it differently.. Much more in the spirit of Michael. Especially the voice of MJ could be bodied more..

I hope y'all know what I mean..

totally agree wit u....

but i do love the album based on the fact that we get to hear his voice again ( on some tracks!!) but its better than nothing i guess...

hollywood tonight, best of joy, behind the mask, and much too soon are brilliant. and hold my hand is better than before am warming up to this one again....

Hold My Hand, Much Too Soon, & Another Day is Michael. I believe Michael wrote Breaking News, but that is not his voice on the track. Keep Your Head Up, Hollywood Tonight, Behind the Mask, & The Way You Love Me is mostly Michael. Monster & Best of Joy is NOT Michael

I do not agree with this promotion strategy... Although I realize they might've chosen to take this route because of all the leaks that occurred in the past couple of weeks, I really think it's a big shame that so many people are hearing the album for the first time in lesser sound quality (through streaming) and/or an unfinished state (through the leaks). Making the album available this way completely removes the excitement of buying it physically, at a record store, and then listening to it for the first time, in its intended quality and form.

I haven't listened to the album myself in either of the currently available forms and I don't plan to listen to it until I have bought the physical CD. Of course everyone else is free to do as they wish, but this honestly does make me sad -- I don't care if other record companies have taken this route before and I realize that some people might argue that this type of promotion is simply a product of our times, but it is my strong opinion that this is simply not the way a new album from any major recording artist should be revealed to the public. I long for the days when promotional campaigns such as 'Dangerous' and 'HIStory' received set the standard.

I hear you. I do miss the days when everyone is glued to the TV set waiting for the premiere of Black or White. I miss the days that I actually went to a actual store, bought an actual album and listened the whole album at home.

But, just like you mentioned, time has changed. Digital downloads are more dominant now. Given the underwhelming promotion efforts on the album, it is wise for Sony to stream the album on-line. Now, the millions of MJ fans on facebook can listen the album. I guess this is part of Sony's marketing campaign.

Back to the album, I just listened the complete KYHU for the first time. I love it. May be because I'm a woman, the lyrics and melody move me tremendously. I am not going to comment on the vocal issue because we've been spending too much energy on that.

I'm grateful for this "new" album. However, I don't feel joyous. Instead, waves of sadness hit me. When I listen to Hollywood Tonight and KYHU, I can't help to think what could have been if Michael was given the chance to complete the songs himself. Both songs are great though.

I think this album will do well! It's still better than 90% of albums out there.

You're also saying that if people don't hear that it's not him, they're deaf. STOP TRYING TO START ARGUMENTS PLEASE!!

I know or whoever it is who keeps on perpetuating the idea that it's not really him. Now I have seen pretty much every song on there being questioned. They don't even know anymore which ones they were "supposed" to think were fake. Seriously? "Best of Joy"??? Obviously that's him. :doh:
