Merged - AEG Live: Potential Three-year World Tour and Release of New Album

You can understand why MJ seems like he is upset with USA, due media over there, but the UK media is just as bad. He must remember his USA fans are part of the family too. Keep The Faith.

FYI, this is from a new article from Evening Standard:

"I gave them the plan I had been working on - a four-year period of him playing live, releasing new music and a whole other bunch of commercial tie-ins including a new version of Thriller in 3D that would open on Halloween."

"Phase one" Phillips told Barrack and Tohme, would be the announcement of 10 shows at the O2 in London. The deal agreed, there was only one hurdle: to get the concerts insured. Phillips approached the London-based insurance company Robertson Taylor. The complex policy was only hammered out in the past two weeks after Jackson had a rigorous medical check-up at his LA home.

Of course, it's all up to MJ at this point. We also don't know the extent of the agreement that was actually signed. The agreement could have been just for the London shows but, if all goes well, I think there's a good chance he'll end up in other cities, at least one of which would be in the US. From the sound of the article, it seems MJ may have actually preferred Vegas, but AEG wanted to start outside of the US first because of the bad reputation from media coverage. Makes sense.

I think it would take a lot to convince him to leave he's kids for 3 years

Can someone please take pity on me and fill me in on who this Dr. Thome is? Anyone who knows?

He is MJ's spokesperson and has released statements to the press regarding various things over the last few months.

Randy Phillips said they got Michael a house out in the country so that his children can play outside. I betcha they got some homeschoolers too!

so..even usa based AEG admits that the usa media is the worst in the world.

yeah. ur right on that one. the fact that he was shocked is shocking to me. everyone else says he's the kop but he doesn't think it.

Ain't that something? It kind of hurt me to hear that. Michael should know how popular he is, but because people have treated him so rotten for so long, I guess his confidence was low. Well hopefully now he knows and his confidence is right back up there.

Yeah, confidence! That is why I believe that once he gets on stage in London and feels all the love from the crowds every night, Michael is gonna get a serious boost from that and he is gonna feel like he can do anything.

I also believe that once folks in the US see how he is showing up every night and performing up to par, it is gonna fuel a great anticipation to see him here in the US.

After all he has gone through in these last 5 or so years, I can understand why he may have a slight lack of confidence. The question, "do these people still love me?" has probably come up in his head many times. Well, he now knows that the UK still loves him. Now come on over here MJ, and let us show you that we still love you too!

he does... but alot of people who have done alot in the world always undermine their own achievements... sort of their personality and keeps them driving for more..... i got a quote somewhere about genius and modesty, can't find it though.

Well said, now I guess only time will tell, but that time is far too long for me to wait:timer:

u know, i know A LOT OF FANS who messed up their visas staying after they were allowed during the trial. if he started here, they couldn't have come to see him.

what this is doing is PROVING to the us that mj is still a hot ticket item. vegas wanted his ass so bad but how easy was it to badmouth the man? some are still saying he won't do it or he's gonna have an impersonator sit in his place.

this will shut everyone up, realize why he is, in fact, the roi de pop, and show how much money can be made from this.

his kids go wherever he goes. so he won't be away from them. guys, he doesn't want to TOUR aka go around to different locals every other day or week. he wants a residency. luckily the 02 allowed it and we all know vegas is known for that now

so no bickering about which country is better, we all love him. we can't control out media. we all want mj to be happy. so let's just cross our fingers and hopes he comes to the states and be happy for all those going to london

Please please Michael - please come to the US. You don't even have to do big arenas...just small venues are good. I know that the US press has hurt you, but you are stronger than that!! And you are in demand!! I can't afford to go to London...and I want to see you so bad in concert. I never have. Me and my daughter will go, as long as it's relatively close by. I'll even miss some classes to go...but I just can't get to London right now. I don't even have a passport!! Never been out of the country other than Aruba when I was a senior in high school....and St. Thomas in the VI...

I think this is one of the reasons why the first concerts is in London;
Not saying anything about the people in the US in general, but the media would have been horrible to him if he did Vegas first. There was all those mentionings about performing in Vegas being the thing for people that are a bit "over the hill". I am not agreeing, but I bet that is what would have been the focus. The O2 is something very different, and doing it like this, even with the Ticketmaster- disaster is one clever way of starting it all.
This is brilliant marketing:yes:

I agree. No offence to people who live there, near there or don't agree, but Vegas is where the big names go and finish touring, not begin it. They go there at the very end, stay for a month or 2 maybe, then do other things and work on other projects. Correct me if i'm wrong, but no comeback artists, especially those as 'big' as MJ, would go there to make an impression, as it gives off completely the wrong signals. Indeed, it was some clever marketing to use the newly-renovated O2 as a starting point for a possible new tour, especially a final one. I just wish that every fan got an opportunity to go, and that they organised the ticket sales better. It could have been one h*ll of a lot more organised than it was - I really don't think that they dealt with it very well at all.

Hopefully, the King of Pop will lift his sanctions on the U.S. and let us have some fun with him too. LOL Some recording artists are going around saying they are stadium status, but check this out...

Our man is stadium status / 50 shows sold out in hours that you can count on one hand / fans preparing to hop on planes / Ticketmaster crashin' / telephone line jammin' / fans camping outdoors to buy tickets in line status. If the KOP decides to do Vegas after the O2 run, no one will be able to say anything negative at all. The only thing anyone will be able to say is "What is his schedule going to be and when will tickets go on sale?"

Ticketmaster better plan ahead and be ready for the influx of ticket-buyers on their servers if MJ announces he's bringing "This Is It" to the U.S. If they are not prepared, their website will crash again.

Also, for anyone that may be a bit concerned about the magnitude of MJ's concert schedule that's now approaching, this is what his schedule actually looks like when you break it down. In addition to performing every other night without having to travel, he's got some pretty nice downtime worked into it.

maybe that 3 month break will be new york!
That will be a winner TOO, Mordeeb!!

I think Viagogo Tickets did a very good job putting into words what is now taking place. Their website says...

One of the biggest names around returns to the stage to remind his fans what made him one of the world’s best-loved performers. The chance to see a genuine superstar in action is simply too good to miss. The singing, the dancing and the great stage show make Michael Jackson tickets some of the most popular around, so make sure you don’t miss the chance to see 'Billie Jean', 'Smooth Criminal' and 'Thriller' being performed live by the man himself.

**********************

In other words, y'all! It's ON!!!

I don't jump on planes much, but I'll do it for MJ if he brings his concert to the States.

no i think that b reak is strictly a break! lol if he tried to do another city, i wouldn'thold out hope for the latter days of the show. he needs to rest. he'll be 51 not a spring chicken anymore

but this was to show that mj COULD do it. remember when he was living in lv and there were always hella articles questioning if he could do this and if a casino would insure him cuz he couldbe accused of this or that and if he didn't wanna show up! Lol lv is a very unforgiving city.

but now he proves he can sell out an areana and if he can do the shows, he's got a built in deal, lol

the aeg owned lv arena will be ready in 2011. ifnot i can only think of mgm and mandalay they're the only twobig ones that would draw and could accommodate mj fans

He could also play at Caesars Palace or the Bellagio too since they have really big theatres, particularly the Colliseum at Caesars.

yea but he likes to shop there. never work where u like to frequent! Lol and those two places are expensive. im talking reasonable people can afford it. usually pple stay in the place the concert is held at. so the hotel would have more incentive to host the residency. bel and ceasar's are expensive lol

mgm not so much and mandalay is a tad but not like the previous two

Yeah I know what you mean, Bellagio is definitely expensive and so is Caesars. Yeah MGM Grand is a reasonable hotel to stay at price wise and is really nice. Mandalay Bay is ridiculous price and I've been in that hotel and it really isn't worth the price tag they charge lol. However if he did some concerts as Caesars you have the cheaper more reasonable hotels straight across the road from it like Harrah's and Flamingo Hilton and Paris.

ahhhhhh or stay at the circus circus manors! Lol u can get a luxor room for $70 if u get it early enuf and they're amazing!

i don't like mgm cuz it's expensive for nothing compared to the luxor. i paid $135 a nite and it was just a random ass room. luxor got them bomb ol tubs! Lol

but in order for him to do ceasars they'd have to fix the ballroom for him. lol that's what they said when i asked. mandalay is expensive cuz of the shark thing. lol costs a lot to maintain that crap

Hahaha, I love how you phrase things :D. Yeah Luxor is a well priced hotel, its a shame that they've took out pretty much all the shops with all the Egyptian artifact replicas and stuff, I loved all that stuff. I don't like Circus Circus lol, I love the circus games there (hehe won a bonus teddy lol) but don't like the hotel itself its way too crowded in there. Treasure Island is a good hotel and isn't expensive. I would love to stay at The Venetian but I sure as hell don't have enough moola to book one of their rooms hahaha.

oh agb babe the manors are behind the actual casino! lol across the street the back way! lol by the astrodome. so u can go there for like $40 a night and not even have to see a friggen clown, cuz omg i hate them.

matter of fact, when i went to mgm the first time we had the room w/ wiz of oz decorations and the scarecrow looked too much like a clown so we were moved. but circ. is the cheapest.

luxor now has the bodies exhibit. and i liked theluxor for ONE Minute that long ass 'tour' was like homework all to get to the damn giftshop lawd....criss angel lives there, to add an element of weird.

but mgm is good if u get in before the dates cuz when things are going onlike a concert, the reg rooms go up to $200+ the close the shows get. so book early

damn i miss vegas
